Hello Shavar, thanks for your response. It's not 'Guilty' by Anne Mather that I'm searching for. I've read 'Guilty' already but the book I want has a different story line.
The heroine has some sisters and at the beginning of the story, they all come together for some celebration.

Any other ideas?
Thanks.

Maybe Ashes Of The Past by Monica Barrie - but I cannot remember if she runs off or not. I have to see if I can find this and post back.

It shows promise except 1) I don't recall her owning a company that did research, more that she was like an anthropological specialist in an era (an older one) and 2) there wasn't "past loves" aspect that I recall (a little too spiritual?). But I could be wrong! I would love to find out if you can find it, if not I'll have to buy it from amazon to find out. Let me know!

Thank you so much, too, for everything. Stay safe out there!

Edit: I've decided to just buy it from amazon and give it a try. Won't hurt, right? Love those dated 1980s harlequins anyway! *Crossing fingers

So good news. Monica Barrie is still writing. Bad news, she responded and said Ashes of the Past has nothing to do with what I'm looking for :( While we're all stuck inside, this book is something you don't have to look for!

Maybe Claimed for the Sheikh's Shock Son by Carol Marinelli.

The sheikh’s seduction…

…has a lifetime of consequences

Desert prince Khalid never loses control…with one exception: his illicit night of passion with captivating dancer Aubrey. Khalid was shocked to discover Aubrey was a virgin. Yet after returning to his kingdom, nothing compares to the bombshell that she’s had his secret child! Claiming his son is nonnegotiable for this proud prince… But claiming Aubrey will prove a much more delicious challenge!

A royal love story with a secret baby twist!

Pallavi (threequartersthedevil) | 29 comments Hello. I've been trying to trace a book. I don't remember if it's specifically a harlequin series one.
The plot involved a haunted house. And the heroine keeps getting spooked by some shadowy thing which later turns out to a man. The man takes the heroine and tries to kill her cause heroine stands in the way for the man's love for the hero? I think it was something authored by Anne Stuart. I can't be sure. Can someone help?

I’m looking for a book title. I want to say it was published in the 1990’s, it was about an American woman that happened to come into money, possibly won it, took a vacation to England, and fell in love with a titled gentleman. I’m pretty sure they met on the plane, in first class, but I’m not positive. I do remember it being lighthearted and pretty drama free.

Bee Mills (beemills) | 50 comments I'm having trouble finding a book. It's a Lynne Graham, I'm fairly sure. In this one, the H thinks that the h is responsible for his brother's death (this is not the one where the brother crashed his car after the h allegedly dumped him, iirc in this one the h, the late bro, and several other people were also in the car and she was set up and couldn't remember the accident). I think she ends up arranging Christmas things? I know she went to jail for drunk driving or something.

Anyone know which one it was?

Nicole (your_queen) | 13 comments SOLVED! 1980s harlequin, man's name is Steele Gray (Grey?), he's a writer or a publisher (I think) and the heroine (who IS a romance writer) wins a night out with him (with a publisher Wilkes Barre but that may be wrong). They drink pink champagne and ride in a pink limousine. I have very little details beyond that but since you're all miracle workers, maybe you've heard of it. Thank you!

Edit: The Steele Trap by Betsy Osborne

Carides' Forgotten Wife / the Di Sione Secret Baby Carides Forgotten Wife, is not one of Maisey Yates' better books. Leon is a wastrel. Amnesia may turn him into a better man but only a saint would take him back. He truly doesn't have many redeeming qualities. None the less. There is a child from another "relationship".

Bride for Real is a fantastic book, I swear I've also read it at least 10 times. I've only read part one of this two part story, a couple of times. Go to next page ====>

message 4393: by RomLibrary (new)

RomLibrary | 260 comments I have been looking for a Harlequin book for some time with no luck. It was probably written in the 80's. It is similar to The Marriage Of Caroline Lindsay in that the h pretends a baby is hers in order not to lose custody to the H who I believe is the baby's Uncle. I remember that in the end the wannabe OW real mother who abandoned the baby with the h, and is a relative of the h, shows up and tells H the h had taken the baby without her permission. The H believes evil wannabe OW and throws the h out of the house. He eventually realizes the truth when the OW shows she is after his money and no interest in the baby and goes after the h to bring her back for their HEA. The H pays off the birth mother to get rid of her and keeps the baby,

The H and the h may or may not have gotten married, I don't remember but h didn't sleep with him in order not to reveal she was a virgin even though he of course tried to get her in bed.

There are only two books I have been searching for that i really want to re read but I havn't been able to find and this is one of them

hopefully someone remembers the book thanks

message 4398: by RomLibrary (new)

RomLibrary | 260 comments Thanks to Se I am now down to a final book I haven't had luck finding on my own, so hoping this community can help me find it.

I think it is a Harlequin Presents but it may have been another imprint.

I remember that the H and h survive a trek through the jungle in a foreign country after either a plane crash or a civil war. They fall in love and he gives her some kind of temporary ring to wear. It may have been a cigar band or something he wove from a plant.

The scene that made this book memorable to me is a scene at the end of the book when they emerge to find her dad or stepdad waiting for her along with her ex boyfriend. She panics for some reason and doesn't want them to see the ring so she slips the temporary ring off her finger. The H sees this and thinks she has changed her mind and leaves her in anger.

I have looked for this one for three years and am starting to think it was possibly not a harlequin but posting this in case any one remembers the plot.

This book looks good and gets pretty decent reviews. I might read it. Withering Hope Plane crash into jungle on way to her wedding. They do give each other string/wool rings but I believe in this book h's parents are dead.

It's available online to read free or on amazon for $3
