Bola - Sounds a bit like... The Greek's Bridal Bargain

The H is a friend to the h's brother. When they were younger, the H used to be a nerd with glasses and all, bookish too and slightly shy. So the h used to laugh at him and when the H once asked her out she mocked him and ridiculed him in-front of her friends. They lost contact when the H's family moved away or something like that. Then one day, H reappeared looking very handsome, successful and ready to save the h's family or her brother's business. The H used the offer of his help to blackmail her into marrying him or becoming his mistress, and then tormented her with all the past mockery and torment she subjected him to, until finally the h fell in love with him and the H finally confessed that he had loved her since they were young and had been working towards coming back to make her his.

Hi; I need help to recall this title
This one is a historical
H is an Earl and his only relative is his grandmother
H captains his own ship and is on a last trip to America when he meets h; I believe she is on his ship
He takes her to her family; she is really naive and they end up sleeping together after which he leaves her behind
Naive h finds out from her cousin exactly how babies are made and is upset that H didn't even care that he could have left her pregnant
She also goes back to England shortly and somehow is employed as companion to H's grandmother
I think grandmother kept h with her as she felt this was the girl the H had once talked about or something
They connect and she tells him how he was uncaring enough to leave and she might have been pregnant
He feels guilty but she tells him she is not pregnant
They eventually marry and are living together when h's father comes back
It was because he was said to have died or left that she had to go to America to begin with
H assumes her father is her lover as they meet secretly a few times; she plans to tell H but he kicks her out
He finds out the truth later and runs to look for her
She is living with a maid in a cottage and when he enters the house she is in the kitchen and drops the flour bin she was holding
She was also pregnant; cannot recall if H had known when he kicked her out or he gets to know then
H has been brought up very strictly and is emotionally distant
h is gentle and very naive; she doesn't even know the process of making lov or how babies are made
I think his name was Jared while hers was Clara; but cannot be sure of this
also, while I did read this as a teenager in high school, sometime in the early 2000's but I have no idea when it was published; I borrowed from a friend so not sure if it was new or old at that time; the condition was fairly good so I assume it was not very old
Also the book did not give too many 'old skool' historical vibes ...
I do remember reading this one and roundabout the same year or maybe later, Kat Martin's Night Secrets and thinking them similar as in H's had travelled to America in their ships ...

You have a good memory, Cara (not Clara) and Justin. Names are always the first thing I forget. I believe this is your book:

Thanks Se but no, i haven't read any Melanie Melburn books. Could be a Mayo, she's so keen on revenge.

Thanks Se, but that's not it. Haven't read any book by that author. Could be a Mayo though.

It's the one. Thank you so so much!!!

Sounds adorable. Have you found it yet?

Oh thank you so much! ... It is! .... Off to hunt up a copy now ...

1. i recall the hero drives through some sort of village and the heroine is working in some sort of flower shop. h stops to buy flowers and they later meet at her parents? or granpa? turns out hero had come for her or something like that.
2.hero and h r separated. hero goes in search of h and kind of finds her ata aprty? or boat and takes her back to his home. i recall a dining scene at breakfast with hero dad when hero and h exchange a steamy look and h runs to bathroom and hero finds her there and they embrace.
there was some sort of misunderstanding between h and h and cause of the misunderstanding was someone close to heroine.
thanks

I think it's Crescendo by Charlotte Lamb.

I think I figured this out. After the Greek Affair if anyone cared. Not positive so in the private notes on my review I put fair skin gets a tan. But it had everything that I remembered so I guess it's tentatively solved.

That sounds like Greek Tycoon, Inexperience Mistress by Lynne Graham

That was solved, it was.... The Billionaire's Pregnant Mistress
The one you are looking for sounds like The Billionaire's Trophy but I don't think that's it, the escort is confusing me...
Maybe The Italian's Price -it's not the one I was thinking of though...will keep looking for the one I think you mean.
A Wife of Convenience This is the one I think might be it - badly dressed etc
OR
Ruthless Magnate, Convenient Wife

Bodyguard by Leona Karr

That's it, thank you.

No none of this ones are the one I'm looking Maybe if I clarify somethings, The heroine is a twin she is not shy or dress usually in a bad way, she is a hard working an usually dress good and is very responsible the other twin sister on another hand is kind of an air head, doing always crazy things, She send a picture of herself ( this is the part I don't remember to well if it was a mail order bride, date service or escort service) where the Hero see the picture and paid for the date. He was looking for someone to pretend to be his future wife or for a date in a wedding. Meanwhile the sister accept the contract but before the date she goes away to Fiji so she call the responsible sister to cover for her. she keep begging till the main heroine accept to go to the date but to punish her she decide to go to the date dress really bad, with big clothes, big glassed that cover her face but she didn't have ugly shoes so she decide to wear pretty shoes because she didn't think he will notice. When she see him she regret not dressing nice but when she interact with him she was happy she did. He was kind of mean. Later I don't remember if he turns out to be her new boss and she ends going as his fiancé and take a plane together to go to where he was suppose to go.

Ruthless Magnate, Convenient Wife

How old do you think it is?

I am so excited to have found this community !

This is the only book I can think of with this theme. Full Recovery by Bobby Hutchinson.

Maybe:
Playing the Greek's Game
(What His Money Can't Buy #2)
by Sharon Kendrick

You say the h was designing someplace, they slept together and she ran off. Does that mean the majority of the story is when they meet up again?
There are a few sheikh books with similar theme. Any idea which country it was set?

Like Enemies Sophie Weston

Looking for a book where heroine inherits a house (possibly on a Greek island?) from her aunt. Hero's father/grandfather used to live in that house ages ago but had to leave. Hero is determined to get the house back for his father/grandfather since there's a lot of sentimental value. Father/grandfather finds out that heroine will be inheriting it but realizes that she doesn't have any plan to sell. Eventually father/grandfather comes up with the plan for hero to either convince the heroine by dating her or to gain ownership by marriage. Hero goes along with the plan. He goes to a party where he's supposed to meet the heroine. Except I think he mistakes the heroine's sister/stepsister as the person he's supposed to charm. Sister/step-sister has been on date or two with the hero in the past so he thinks it'll be easy to get the property from her. His grandfather tells him he's wooing the wrong woman.
This is the part that's sort of hazy and I'm not sure about. I think when he sees the heroine, he realizes he's met her in the past. They either had a one night stand in the past or were almost about to? It's possible that heroine was a widow and grieving. But after she slept with or almost slept with the hero, she says that she's married. Again, not 100% about these last few details.

I can't remember too many details of this book that I'm looking for. I believe that the Hero was introduced as the business partner of the heroine's father. I think it actually ends up being that the heroine's father is indebted to the hero. Or that the hero is paying off heroine's father's debts with some ulterior motive.
Heroine and family aren't aristocratic or anything but their name carries respect. Heroine's mother doesn't like the hero hanging around (maybe thinks he's beneath them?). I think either the heroine's father admits the truth that they're broke or dies causing the truth to be revealed.
It's possible that the hero is the new owner of the house too. Hero suggests marriage so that heroine's family doesn't have to leave the house and can keep up appearances. At this point, the heroine's mother is pushing her towards the hero.
I've already ruled out The Forced Bride by Sara Craven and The Greek Tycoon's Disobedient Bride by Lynne Graham which had some elements of the book I'm looking for

I think I found it Not Just the Greek's Wife

Sorry, this is not HP but Historical romance...thot wud try my luck here.
h is called a Warrior princess or some such.. in the opening scene there is an invasion at her castle wherein her father, mother and brother are killed. Her brother helps her escape before he gets killed so that she can reach the neighbouring clan who is their ally i.e. H. She is also a cousin of King of England and heir to the throne.
TIA

I think h was underaged maybe 17 so H was accused of seducing the innocent

thanks mona but it's not that book i finally found it by chance it's called deceptive desires by lily larue

This sounds like a Diana Palmer book. I have to check which one...

Not yet, is very old i suppose no ones remember anything

Also this book is bugging me as well.
