3meg | 361 comments Can someone help me out...I recently came across a Cathy Williams book -in the US titled One Night in Rome in the UK The Italian's One-Night Love-Child. It was published in 2009 in the UK and looks like it was released in the US July-Sept of 2011. It has a present cover but no number? I am completely confused about where this one fits in to the line...any ideas?

message 356: by Kate (last edited Nov 03, 2011 08:51PM) (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) I think Harlequin released some extra HPs in July. They appear to have not been numbered because they weren't part of the regular 10/month releases.

I am not sure what your question is exactly. Are you asking for the HP number?

message 358: by 3meg (new)

3meg | 361 comments Thanks Kate, it was driving me crazy...since I have the entire line numbered and everything, these extra books came out of nowhere! I felt like there was something I did not know. Very hard to keep up with. There are always a few MB's that never get released as HP's, but I can usually figure those out.
@Lululemon - yes, I was looking for the number. Since it was a MB from 2009, I thought maybe I had missed number some other books or something.
Now I need to see what other ones were released....and yes, i am way too anal!

message 359: by Verity (last edited Nov 03, 2011 10:36PM) (new)

Verity | 567 comments U're not anal, 3meg. We have certain way of lining up collections. Mine's in alpha order by author then alpha order again by titles on shelves, drawers, the ones reread the most are closer to my bed, eazier to reach. I even arrange my nieces' toys in certain order, it drives me bonkers if they just shove everything on the shelves so I do the clean-up every nite myself LOL..

I should re-arrange my books based on the covers, ranking the nekid men's hawtness.

message 360: by Dee (new)

Dee | 26 comments I don't think your are anal either Megan - as Verity says we all have ways of recording our books/collections.

As Kate said I think it was just one of those one's that was randomly released. I may be wrong but I think the reason they had surplus titles was because at one point (I think it was mid last year) Harlequin reduced their monthly release titles to 8 (or something like that!) but here in the UK Mills & Boon continued to output the 10 releases. But then for some reason Harlequin started putting out the 10 titles again - as I said I could be totally wrong and everything I have said is total nonsense :) but something along those lines rings a bell in my head.

Hope that helps as to why there are random titles :)

Sheila (schmoozy) | 92 comments Help! Trying to locate a book title myself! I searched fictiondb for hours yesterday to no avail. I believe the book is from the early '2000's. The couple is married right from the start of the book. He is about to leave on a business trip and probably begin an affair with his secretary? maybe a business partner? The h realizes she is losing him, kinda does a makeover and joins him last minute on the business trip...and that would be all I can remember. I loved the book and re-read it several times, and have no idea where it's gone.

Can anyone help? Pretty Please.

Hi

This is an old favourite of mine and I was scratching my head until Vashti mention Emma Darcy so the credit really goes to her but I think the one you are looking for is

Marriage Meltdown by Emma Darcy

message 374: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (schmoozy) | 92 comments WOW!! You ladies are awesome! That is it. My bad for thinking the '2000's. WOW. Thank you, thank you!

message 375: by Dee (new)

Dee | 26 comments No thank you for reminding me about this one. I first came across it many years ago and read it several times but it went missing when we moved a few years ago and I never managed to replace it.

message 376: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (schmoozy) | 92 comments My pleasure! Mine was also misplaced during a move over four years ago. I am definitely going to track down a copy one of these days.

Many thanks again Vashti & Dee!

message 377: by Vashti (new)

Vashti | 732 comments you are welcome Sheila,I remember hating this hero for even thinking about cheating. This is why I have a prob with ED's books,I never really feel a HEA for her couples, same goes with Miranda Lee's books.

message 378: by Sari.d (new)

Sari.d | 5 comments I'm looking for a book from either the late 80's or early 90's. The plot was an English girl that lived on a boat in Greece with her younger brother -Peter- who got a rich Greek girl -Helen- pregnant. So for revenge the Greek girl's older brother kidnapped Peter and then went and told the heroine that she had to let him get her pregnant to avenge his family's honor. I think the Main Character's names were Nikos and Carrie. My sister and I read it as teenagers and we want to see if it is as outrageous as we remember. Thanks :)

My 10 year old son helped me find the answer to this. The book is Dark Avenger by Alex Ryder. Now I just need to find a copy of it.

Edited to add - it is available from Amazon on Kindle for $3.60.

message 388: by Sari.d (new)

Sari.d | 5 comments I just found my old copy in my mom's house. OMG! I read it in like an hour and a half and laughed so hard. It is so much more ridiculous than I remembered! I can't fathom how it was ever considered romance. But for all of that, it's kind of one of those stories you'll read again periodically. :)

*LOL*! Oh my- I had a good laugh just reading the synopsis. I'm going to have to save this one for when I'm feeling especially snarky. I'm starting a separate thread for this book under the "Buddy Reads" folder if anyone wants to join in the fun :P.

*LOL*. From the description of her books, you would think they were written back in 70s. That sheikh one seems pretty funny too.

Lulu, I so agree. I was looking at that one too. I am going to read the first book and see if I want to spend more money on the author. I freely admit I like campy drama when it comes to HP books.

message 398: by Janice (new)

Janice | 37 comments When I bought Dark Avenger (Harlequin Presents, #50) by Alex Ryder and then saw The Barbarian's Bride Harlequin Presents by Alex Ryder I couldn't resist. My finger automatically clicked on buy now. Wish I had more self control. Hopefully, I won't be sorry.

JennyG | 108 comments I hope you can help with the following book search. It is a Harlequin Presents book.

The heroine calls out for "Bobby" in her sleep and the hero gets jealous because she said another man's name. It turns out that she was dreaming about her brother who died. The brother might have been a paraplegic or had some other debilitating desease, not sure though.

Someone on another board suggested a Carole Mortimer book but that is not it because I never read that particular CM book but I did read a book with that scene. I am pretty sure that it is either a Michelle Reid or Lynne Graham book. Other possible authors would be Jacqueline Baird and Sarah Morgan.

I think I read it between 2000-2009.

I've been going through my books but no luck so far so I thought to ask for your help and thank you in advance.

Thank you for trying to help.

Jenny
