Sara Goza | 1 comments I am looking for a book that I have read in the past, probably 2010ish. The heroine is a prostitute and she has one night with the hero and when she looks into his eyes she starts crying. She ends up getting pregnant and sees a chance at a better life for her and her little girl. She becomes a housekeeper? for the hero. Thanks in advance!!!!

Billi Wagner (mysticmother) | 1 comments Hi, I need help finding an two older Harlequin Presents books. In the first I don't remember the name of the characters, only that it's an office romance. The new boss saves his secretary/assistant from rape and gets tired of waiting for her to get over the trauma and see that he loves her. He keeps pushing her out of her comfort zone to shock her into facing her demons. In the second one, there is a poem about an apple tree toward the front. I remember thinking it's a strange thing to have in a Harlequin novel, but I liked the poem. Thanks everybody!

The first one is The Friendship Barrier by Penny Jordan.

Can you remember anything else about the second one? Both Sara Craven and Margaret Way use poetry in their HP's - as do a few other authors.

Tho Rowan Kirby's Only My Dreams has a poem that goes "I had a little apple tree, it was all I had, it's blossoms were quite beautiful..."

Angie Torres | 15 comments Hello readers! I'm looking for a book where the hero and the heroine are from different clans, I remember that they get married but they have many problems because H thinks that the heroin is still faithful to her clan, I also remember that in one oppurtunity they discussed in front of other people and the H threw h down a cliff and believed that she was dead. I hope someone recognizes this book. Thanks!

Books&Friends (booksandfriends) | 5 comments Would love any help with the 2 books I'm looking for.
1.
It's a Harlequin Presents. 2000's Most likely a Lynne Graham book but I could be wrong. The heroine in the book runs away from hero knowingly pregnant for the second time. She ends up working for a real estate agent in the English countryside, also pregnant, whose husband abandoned her and her other children. Soon after the woman has her child the heroine goes into labor (premature- I think) and finds herself in a cottage hospital in the hallway, alone, terribly upset when the hero suddenly appears and comes to the rescue!

2.
This one is an oldie. This one is more likely a Harlequin Romance or an early Harlequin Presents. I'm thinking perhaps the former. I've asked before without any luck perhaps some new members might know of this one.
It keeps haunting me because the heroine isn't the typical Harlequin heroine at that time period.
This is what I remember of the plot. It's a marriage of convenience. Heroine's father wants to leave his business to hero but wishes his daughter future secured and pushes them to get married. If I remember correctly father was ill. Hero and heroine have their own reasons to agree to the arrangement. The book is very typical of its time only the heroine mentally describes their love making as disappointing. She doesn't enjoy the hero's love making. And this is not a one time thing. No stars exploding, nothing. Memorable only for that particular reason:)
Appreciate your input!

The Italian Billionaire's Pregnant Bride Lynne Graham

Do you remember anything else about the second one? Like when it might have been published?

Tho the lack of enjoyment sounds like a Sara Craven book. Maybe A Bad Enemy

RomLibrary | 260 comments Looking for a book with a forced amrraige or blackmail into marriage theme. the scene I most remember is that the h is caught in a storm on her way to see the hero and is soaking wet when they
meet in his office.

The h is engaged to her father's business partner, it will be moc. She is a virgin so she wants her first time to be with a man she really likes before the moc. The h meets the H and they have one night stand. After when she goes to her official engagement party she meets there the H again. It turns out the H seduced the h to get revenge on her fiance. I think there was some scene with driving in the rain or storm.

message 3271: by Nguyệt Huỳnh (new)

Nguyệt Huỳnh (rotessaboggs) I am trying to find a book where the h suffers from amnesia (not because of car accident). I remember that the H is her boss ...maybe. She once interrupts a meeting and accuses him of something bad like cheating.
She still works at the same place as the hero but she doesn't remember that they had a relationship (or marriage idk). Then she faints there, the H knows she gets amnesia and takes care of her. However, at the same time, he arranges to do something to get his own back on her for the accusation...
I remember that there's a scene when she runs into the rain...
That's all I can remember. This is one of the first HPs I've read so every detail is kinda vague to me.
Please help me :)))

I love amnesia books, however there are LOTS of them. How old do you think this book is? under 10 years, after 2000?

I haven't read the book myself, but I've definitely read reviews of it. Sadly, I can't remember the name. I do know that it's highly rated by at least one of the following: StMargaret, Vintage, boogenhagen, or Ivy-h.

I'll have a look through their books and see if I can't find it again, because I was planning to read it myself!

EDIT: Is it Once a Moretti Wife by Michelle Smart?

Bee Mills (beemills) | 50 comments Okay so I recently read reviews of a particular book, and now I can't remember the name, so I can't find it. Hope someone can help me out!

Basically it's a second-chance story, I think - the hero wooed, married, and dumped the heroine a few years before the book begins. I think it was for revenge? Something about her grandfather's ships and HIS grandfather's ships. Anyway, now he wants her back - apparently he always loved her but had to do the wed, bed, dump thing because Reasons (possibly a deathbed promise to his grandad?)

They have honeymoon on a yacht and the h meets a painter or just a random english guy on a beach. When the h returns to the yacht she doesn't tell the H about the guy. Later on the H finds out she has been meeting the other guy and gets very angry. I think he even rapes her.

3houd | 11 comments There was one very awful novel that I've been trying to find in order to avoid the author forever. The H and h were married and going on a trip using a car. The h was pregnant and planning to tell the husband. Some criminals stopped them on the way, beat up the husband and raped the wife. The jerk (the husband) didn't believe she was already pregnant, called her a liar and left. months later after she gives birth they reunite some how and have an argument about her being raped that day, and that ass actually end up beating her up. Does this ring any bells?

Me too. What a nasty story line for a romance. That doesn't sounds like a harlequin though. It sounds like an indie book.

Thanking in advance

Bee Mills (beemills) | 50 comments Right, so this is getting ridiculous. I should just get the books when I read the reviews that make me want them, instead of hoping that I'll remember the name.

Anyway, this one is a secretary/boss romance, where they've been having an affair strictly out of office hours for some time, but it's Valentine's day and she's hoping that he'll cop to having feels, instead of just copping a feel. And she gets flowers and thinks they're from him, until he sees them and demands to know WHO DARED to send her flowers. Also her horse died, her dad is leaving her mum because he wants to go back to farming, and her sister is a cow.

I'm hoping someone can help me out with a name here. Possibly I should invest in a notebook where I can write down the names of books I see on GR that I'd like to read.

(I, too, am sad about the horse. I feel like it's unfair to have death in an HP, unless it's death of the deserving, such as evil grandfathers and crazy OWs. But they should especially steer clear of animal deaths)
