A few possibilities for you...
The Seven Year Secret by Roz Denny Fox
The Tie That Binds by Laura Gale
The Giannakis Bride by Catherine Spencer
OR (long shot)
The Miracle Baby by Janice Kay Johnson

Hey, thanks a ton for your response. But i don't think its any of these :( sorry

Which book? Did you mean the one Maya is looking for?

years after this h approaches H with an offer of marraige against the return of H's family heirloom that h's mother had in possession. h is doing all this to patronise her ailing mother coz her last wish is to see h married to H.
I have been looking for this book for so long now. but couldn't remeber the title.

I responded to your original post. I am very sure it is
His Wedding Ring of Revenge by Julia James

Hi Angy
its not this, but huge thanks for your help. I guess i will just grow old without knowing what book it is :(

The Valentine Child (Wedlocked!) Jacqueline Baird

Thanks Mo, that's exactly the book I was looking for .
Thanks a lot.

Heart of the Outback Emma Darcy - the wife has some long term degenerative illness. H and h meet when h is modeling clothes on his cattle station.

ohh that's it!!! thank you:)

Reluctant Captive Helen Bianchin

(The italics are my suppositions).
The h is working for the H. Some evil wanna-be-OW sends the h to work in the basement where there's practically no light (one bulb only, why I remember it? It beats me). The H finds the h and is appalled by her work conditions, things get steamy on her desk but they are interrupted by someone visiting the h(?) and the H is even more appalled because he doesn't do things like that.
I know it's just a scene to go by but hope it rings a bell. Thanks in advance.

Was it Unlocking her Innocence? The h was supposedly responsible for the death of the hero's little brother and she had the family from hades.

Nope, I read that one last week and that's how I remembered I've read a similar scene before so I'm searching for that other book. But thanks anyway V 😎.
I *think* the h made a friend, the H's bodyguard/chauffeur (?). Or maybe that was another book...

Cancel it all, I found it 😅. Vintage gave me the idea because it was another LG, The Contaxis Baby.
A lot similar (?) the h is responsible for the H's half brother suicide. They weren't interrupted -ahem- they had barely finished when the wanna-be-OW knocks on the door and there was a security guard near her basement office, she didn't befriend him though (as far as my scanning went).
Thanks for the help 😊

Hi. Many thanks for your suggestion. Kinda similar, but not the same book. H is aware that they have to make a baby, unlike in this one. I am beginning to think it may not be an HP book. Maybe one of these authors went indie and published it, i don't know... Huge thanks anyway.

I have Contaxis on tbr.

I liked the Contaxis baby better because the h photocopied the 400 photos on expensive paper from the office 😂😂😂
And I'm working on a new system because I'm finding it too difficult to find anything these days 😓

Year - 2001+
Setting - Europe and ?
Heroine is together with Hero maybe blackmail, not sure. She has no money because her parents (either mum and step-father or father and step-mother) spent all of her money. I think heroine was either a model or actress.
The main scene I recall near end of the book, the hero finds out where the heroine's parents are and she flies there. When she goes inside she sees pieces of furniture and pictures etc that they had told her had all been sold. Step-father/father was involved in shonky real estate investments, I think. Heroine confronts her parents and they say that since she's got a new rich man, why does she care about the money. She runs out of their home, hero is waiting outside in limo to console her.
Have run out of ideas to find this one. Anyone?

So easy but yet so hard!! I should have known it was LG. Thank you Ana :)

Maya - perhaps you'd like to post it again and include all the ones you've ruled out?

I re-read Too Hot to Handle about a year ago. On the same subject, what was the one where the heroine worked as a tour manager for the band? I think hero was the lead singer.

I just can't remember the name or author of this regency romance book I read probably years ago.
All I remember are a few vague details like the hero's name is Jack or Jonathan. The H fights his attraction with h because the h is unlike other girls who are timid and obedient. She is a little hardheaded and has an adventurous streak. If I'm not wrong, the h is an orphan but has few remaining relatives that are interested in her fortune that hre trying to cause her harm.
I also remember a scene where, on the way to Church, the heroine along with her maid were walking in the woods and stumbled upon a bear/foothold trap or something. Luckily, only the dress of the heroine is caught. Her maid rush to ask for help at the church and found the H. The H thought that the h was seriously wounded when he came into her rescue. He was a little angry at first because of the h's recklessness but this incident made the H thinks about his feelings to the h.
Hope somebody could help. Thank you!!

No amnesia, but this one had a secret marriage: The Sarantos Baby Bargain

This one has amnesia - but no secret marriage. It's vintage, though. Storm Centre

Maybe Lynn Graham's The Banker's Convenient Wife

In that one the H (Roel, if I'm not misspelling) didn't ask for the h but the h's sister tried to play Cupid and told the h (Hilary) that Roel was asking for her.

The one where the H disappears while on an assignment and the h has the baby without him is Catherine George's Villain of the Piece - but the H is anthropologist studying jungle tribes, not a journalist.

Charm, this group is specifically for Harlequin Presents -- you'd probably have better luck asking in the historical romance group.

That's the one! Thank you!

Maya, is that the book? I love an evil, interfering mother except when I hate them.
