Help! I can't remember the name of this book...

********************************
It can't be The Markonos' Bride. Its still a very good book and I highly recommend it but from R's synopsis, I don't think it is because she was able to visit her deceased son's grave yearly with the family's consent even though her husband did not know. She couldn't stay in the family compound but she could stay at the local hotel.
His parents thought she was too young for him and didn't like her because she wasn't Greek. When their young son died, she went to pieces and the husband left her to grieve on his own. By the time he returned, her family had come to bundled off back to England. She returned a month later and found him in bed with another woman and she left him for good. (beginning of the story so no big spoilers)

In the end, the h thinks he's in love with someone else and wants to release him but he says no and they're stuck in the elevator and the hero gives the h a lesson in geometry by explaining about how the hypotenuse is the largest side of a triangle and they can 'get it on' in the lift cuz they're stuck anyway
B - [Solved - Seed of Vengeance ]heroine called Erica. I think her father had a company (perfume, I think). Hero worked for the father and had been in love with the heroine but she caught him with her step mom (or something other misunderstanding) - ...there's a typical scene where she's preggo and then is an accident and when she awakens, she's delivered the baby and the hero tells her she's free to leave him cuz yadda yadda....he calls her Aura cuz of her blond hair and presence
C - [Solved -Madelin's Marriage - Emma Goldrick ]A heroine called Medeline and I remember her to be a free spirit sort of a person and there comes a guy who's interested in her - he asks her aunt (or grandmother?) to fake an illness so they can get married by the sick lady's bedside in a hurry. Heroine was super gutsy.....

# 2 sounds like :
Elizabeth Power - Seed of vengeance. I friggin' luv this book =)~
His terms were nonnegotiable
"If you want to help him ...you're going to have to marry me first," Rafe stipulated.
Erica would rather have died than meet Rafe Cameron's outrageous terms, but it wasn't her life that was at stake. She had no choice but to agree to his proposal of marriage--and the honeymoon--and any other demands he cared to m... Then, she vowed, the day Rafe cleared her father's name, she would drop her bombshell. Fine plans--only she hadn't counted on falling in love!

YES!!!!!!!!!! That's it exactly! I've loved this book! another addition to my Fave books!

Kate Walker = Kept for her baby
Daphne Clair = No escape
I haven't read it but I heard this fits the theme :
Anne Hampson = Song of the waves

SOOOOOO true!!!
I was just thinking the same looking at the current reads of everyone
alternate yet acceptable titles:
"Italian's mistress revenge"
"Greek tycoon, preggers mistress"
"Spaniard's marriage ultimatum"
"The Russian Wedding Vengeance"
"Revenge of the British Mistress" (<---Alas, this one can never be!)
=D what's with the nationalities in the titles? and mistresses? and preggers?

The heroine is a singer at a club at night and works for the hero during the day (maybe as a window mannequin arranger or something, IIRC). When she's in the singer mode: she dons a disguise with a wig and everything and her confidence sky-rockets
The hero is attracted to both the heroine in day job and the singer at night and he keeps taunting the day-job heroine that he's found another lover....Finally he finds out and then typically they have a falling out -
any help?

"Hi! I am looking for a book i read a year or two ago, but the book has been published before that, dont know when. Summary: A woman needs money to pay for her mothers treatment, so she makes a deal with a man she is very attracted to. They were involved in the past, how i dont know. Maybe he was a past lover, or she rejected him i don remember. The thing is she wanted a weird sum of money, an exact sum of money. She didnt tell him why she needed the money, he tought she was a gold digger. They get married or are lovers, i dont remember, they sign a contract. He wants her. Towards the end of the book they separate, she runs of his yacht/ boat. It bothered him why that number ( amount of money) and when he finds out that she needed it for her mother, he is shocked. He helps her mother even further and seeks her out. They end up together. The book is pure romance. The author writes romance novels. Possible authors are: Lynne Graham, Michelle Reid, Jacqueline Baird ----> but i think it also might be someone else."

I don't think it's the same book, but Terms of Possession has a heroine who agrees to have a couple's baby so she can pay for her mother's medical treatment. She actually has sex with the husband to get pregnant.

Oh, I found it - The Disobedient Virgin, part of the "Ramirez Brides" series. Michelle Reid wrote the first in the series.

The only HP author who I remember that has a hyphenated name is Fiona Hood-Stewart. You might want to check her books from fictiondb.com

i need a list of any mills and boon or harlequin or hp book with the theme wherin the heroine is gravely ill like "The Spaniard's Marriage Bargain by Abby Green"
something similar..."
Lyraa, Do you still need this type of story? I believe (view spoiler) fits the bill, though it is after the fact, it is why she took the million.

It was about a young girl who fell in love with her father's best friend and ended up getting pregnant by him after his divorce from his wife. She had nothing to do with the divorce. They got married. The front cover had a pic of her in overalls I think.
I'd love to find it again. Does anyone have any idea what this book is? It's probably from the 1980s.

Boy Lady Danielle, you can sure keep a lot of books straight in your mind but this is not it.
I am obviously mixing up two books. I think this one went missing in the disappearing box too. I remember liking and keeping this one.
But actually the book I'm looking for is the one about the young girl who marries her father's best friend. So obviously again, I have no idea now what the cover shows. She may not have gotten pregnant until the very end of the book but there was definitely a scene where they are painting the nursery.
I'm thinking the cover might have had a close up of the two of them under an umbrella.

I just remembered the coveralls on the cover. I have a weird memory. I can remember somethings extremely clearly twenty years later, but others, no memory of it at all. :) I hope you find the book.

I'm looking for a book I read years ago. I don't remember the title or the author.
The plot goes something like this: the heroine discovers her fiancé cheating with her sister (or her cousin). She ends up with her boss, who, as it turns out later, has hired a private investigator to make sure she catches her cheating fiancé, because he noticed her a long time ago and he kind of set it up that she would fall in his arms after she discovered her cheating fiancé. They get married out of practical reasons, because he wants to settle down or something. It takes a long time for them to figure out they actually love each other.
Other stuff I remember: there's a lot of travelling, something about a horse riding accident and he is obsessed with her hair (which she puts in a tight bun and he wants her to wear it loose).
I really hope somebody knows which book I'm talking about. Thank you so much.

I´m quite sure it is "The Trophy Husband" by Lynne Graham.

The book starts out with the heroine (I believe her name is Skye) rescuing the hero's kid from ice or icy water or something. I can't even remember the main plot line, but I believe there's a scene where Skye and the hero are in front of a campfire drinking wine out of styrofoam cups, and another where Skye, the hero, and his kid visit some friends' house for a gathering...
I know that's not much to go off of, but if any of you have any ideas, please let me know!

Hanneke, that sounds like a Penny Jordan book, but I don't know that I've read it. I hope someone is able to post a suggestion.

Hi Hanneke, see if this is what you´re looking for.
HP 1105 Substitute Lover by Penny Jordan
Stephanie never told Gray Chalmers the truth about her marriage to his cousin, Paul. And she’s avoided the town where he and Paul ran a boatyard and Paul accidentally died. Now Gray needs her help and she owes him so much. Can she return and face the memories?

My turn to ask for help. :)
My friend is looking for a book she read some time ago, but she can not remember its name.
The heroine, who is an actress, has a sister who worked as a secretary for the H and she fell for him but he did not feel the same. I don´t know exactly if her sister resigns or if the H fires her.
The heroine´s sister tells her that she was in love with him and he took advantage of that and deceived her and used her, etc..
The heroine decides to give the H a lesson and make him fall for her (I guess). She starts to work for him in the same position of her sister... she is a good actress, but has no experience as a secretary and he is very demanding... My friend said that there are some funny parts of him trying to deal with a copier and some lost files on the computer.. They have a romance, the two fall in love and he discovers that she is taking revenge, so he fires her.
When her sister assumes she lied, the heroine seeks for the Hero in his office and asks for forgiveness. I think he humiliates her at first but then they have their happy ending.
Does this ring a bell for anyone??
