i hope someone find th original version of th book ,i read th chapter u translated in ur page Darine and i doubt it s a Harlequine .th hero is too violent for a HP.

I've got another one!
I believe that the book starts with a sick h and she's on her way to work.
She is the H secretary and has been for a couple of years. H is a Slut - has one after another and discards them fairly quickly...
the h sister comes to visit and h is concerned.
Her sister is very irresponsible and selfish.
She's also married and had a fight with her hubby so she just left.
Some things happen but I'll skip that...
So one evening the h comes home and finds the H and the sister making out on her couch.
She kicks the H out with a few home truths and gives her sister the cold shoulder.
The next morning she threatens to tell the bro-in-law about his wife and her loose morals.
The sister runs home to make up with her husband.
h goes to work and starts to clear her desk (she resigned the night before)
H comes and tries to persuade her to stay, she refuses and keeps packing....
H leaves and calls brother to talk to the h.
The brothers persuades her to work for him and they kiss.
h and the H's brother start dating.
H throws one secretary after another out and insists that they are all too stupid to do the job.
He goes back to the h and offers her a promotion.
Can't remember much after that..
Does anyone know the book??? :)

Not sure about the publishing year... But I think it was before 2000... 1980's or 1990'

I've looked for it every time someone mentions it but no luck. And I'm not going to pay $50 for a used copy. Humph.

enjoy ;)

It's either a Silhouette Desire or Silhouette Special Edition. The heroine is poor and she needs money. The hero is rich and wants a baby. The heroine agrees to get pre..."
This is Melodie Adams, Genlte Possession. Great book.

I am looking for a Harlequin Presents book from the 2000s. I don't remember much of it but at the start of the book the hero and the heroine meet during a minor car accident. She does not like him but he falls for her fast. He learns that she's very commitment-phobic and even though she is in her late 20s she's never had any serious relationships in her life.
It's a sweet, light-hearted romance. I remember one of the characters being a lawyer (I can't remember if it was the hero or heroine). If anyone knows the name of the book, please let me know.
Thanks!

Carter Blake just loves a challenge, and usually gets his own way; he didn't become a millionaire by taking 'no' for an answer! But to his amazement, that's the answer that Liberty Fox gives him. Carter now has a real challenge on his hands: Why is Liberty keeping him at arm's length, and why doesn't she trust him? Maybe Carter can convince Liberty with one final ultimatum: He'll have and he'll hold her in matrimony, if that's what it takes!

I spent a few hours looking for it because I knew I had either read it or part of it within the last 6 months. Had just given up when I remembered I had read several Helen Brooks last fall. For some reason I didn't even think Of HB as a possible while I was looking.
Anyway happy I could help.

I can't remember the title but I think it has the word "obsession" in it (I could be wrong). The heroine has loved the hero for a long time now, (they are from the same town) but the H moved away. Something tragic happens in his life and the h travels to where he lives to comfort him. She pretends like she was just passing through. They end up having sex and she gets pregnant. They marry. It is a marriage of convenience. They have the baby - a son. The h's friend comes to visit and inadvertently spills the beans that the h has always loved the H and that the h had travelled all the way to see the H. He is angry and becomes very cold towards the h. He is mad because, as he says, he had left home to get away from obsession (he wasn't referring to the h) only to have it follow him.
Of course he later realizes that he loves her and confesses this when he thought she had left him. They have their HEA. I think it was written in the 90s or very early 2000s.
I know this is not much to work with but your help would be greatly appreciated.

Omg that's definitely it!!!!! The cover alone is enough to convince me.
Thank you so much!!! I read this book about 15 years ago, my sister gave my copy to a friend and I never saw it again. I have tried and tried to find it; couldn't even remember the title or the characters' name. All I recall is the plot-line and the back cover.
Thanks again!

Such a simple story but one that has haunted me over the years because it's so unique. I still cringed (as I had done those years ago in my early teens) when I read that shattering moment of revelation, sprung by the h's friend. I was embarrassed for the h. The author conveyed the intensity in such a way that I felt the h's humiliation when the H confronted her.

I was incredibly upset when they removed those older harlequins. I am honestly gonna find a way of contacting scrbd and demanding they put them back (if it's possible). Please anyone else who loves those vintage should do the same. They are so rare to find and Scribd used to be my go-to source for them.

Ah but if the oldies are actually available somewhere (which is obvious from the fact that people are able to upload them illegally or not) couldn't Scribd legally subscribe to them as they do the newer ones. Oh well.

I think most of them are scans.

In the new Harlequin Group, here on GRs, I suggested that they consider a "vintage collection". I would buy them if they were available. I just don't read paperbacks anymore, so don't bother with PBS or ebay. I prefer my nook or kindle. Too hard on my eyes!

If Scribd were smart they would know that the older Harlequins are more valuable than the new ones, which anyone can buy on Kindle format via Amazon. I would have bargained with Harlequin to keep those old books. As it is, they have just gotten rid of a pile of treasure, replacing them with dross.
Yeah me too, I only tend to read kindle books (don't wanna go blind) or I would have invaded eBay.

I can only hope that harlequin considers the "Vintage Collection" suggestion.

I never scanned, I just paid the annual fee. Oh well.

I have a HUGE list of tbr and most of them are paperback only vintage HQ. I even went on amazon and went through the "do you wish this was a kindle book" thingy.
I really don't have space for tons of paperbacks, but I'd buy them in ebook if they were available.

The current HPs are not readable in my opinion. I used to be an avid HP reader and would buy all the new issue Harleys, but no longer. Even the HPs from from two or three years ago were so much better than the current fare. It feels like Harlequin Presents has lost its core identity and is trying too hard to fit into the "modern" genre. But that's just not why I read HPs. If I wanted to read regular contemporary fare with an uber modern day feel to it and a super liberated heroine, I would read regular contemporaries. Not long ago I discovered the older Harleys and they have so much more depth and substance even for such short novels.
