Em I | 1 comments Looking for an old book - I feel like it's one of the classic harlequin novels.

From what I can remember, the heroine has a younger brother. The hero knew the heroine from before. They get married (can't remember why).

The hero works out a lot and there's a couple steamy scenes where the hero is working out and the heroine is watching with an icy drink..? And I think the hero had a difficult previous marriage and the heroine might have been a virgin at the start of marriage.

The hero had some involvement with the entertainment industry. And one notable thing is that the hero is just waiting for the heroine to fall in love with him.

For the life of me I can't remember the title!! Help greatly appreciated. :)

Hey guys.. Ive been away for a bit but I am back.:-)

i was wondering if anyone can remember the name of this book. I only remember a little from the beginning but I'm hoping someone can remember as well....

It starts where the h is at her sisters wedding and/or reception and the H ends up talking to her about a night that he engineered a month or two prior where they had sex but to him it was out of revenge. To her ....she ( i think ) didn't realize it was out of revenge until after.......Now there at the wedding and shes pregnant with H baby because of that night and she doesn't want him to know. She asks him why he is there and he says its because her sister invited him. He then realizes at this time (I don't remember how he realizes it) that she is pregnant and i think he demands her to come with him or live with him... Ans involved sister somehow.. I still don't remember much about why he's doing the revenge .......

Anyone remember this harlequin title?

If you can help.. Much appreciated :-)

Amy | 2 comments Okay I have been trying to find this book forever just by looking at the cover photo and I have had no luck! I cannot remember the title or the author. I remember that it is a Harlequin Presents book. Part of the story is that the heroine (possibly pregnant) leaves the hero to return to her hometown for the wedding of her sister. They have a barbecue in the backyard and an old friend comes over to join them. During this part of the book the hero comes to the house and sees the heroine with the friend. The hero hangs around until after the wedding, but then must return to work. I enjoyed the book and I would definitely love to find out more information about it. I would certainly appreciate any help:)

Not sure if this is the correct book, but "The Brunelli Baby Bargain" by Kim Lawrence. It is a pretty good book and I have enjoyed reading it in the past. It sounds just like your description.

message 1519: by Cathy (new)

Cathy Norfin | 56 comments Hi everyone - I have one more to see if you can remember. :-)

Starts out beginning (i think in prologue) a man talking to himself - stating he will have revenge and thinking "she will pay for what she did" etc...

then the next thing in book is the h on a boat going to an island to meet the H to complete a signed transaction and transfer of money with the company she works for (real estate, I think) - she arrives and noone is there - but then the H arrives to island on helicopter with his bodyguard I think - Come to find out before this boat trip to the island h caught her fiance in bed with her sister or cousin i think and they were supposed to get married the following weekend. but she called off wedding -

H gives her a drink with something in it - she passes out and he undresses her and takes pictures of her naked I think to send to her fiance because he still thinks she is getting married the following weekend. she wakes up and he shows her the pictures and she has no clothes and he wont return them. He makes her stay on island with him so she wont get married.

come to find out she was a driver in accident years earlier i think and the H father was the one who actually wanted revenge because accident killed wife and hurt son, i believe. I dont remember how H was able to come in place of his father. But he explains to h that at first sight he fell in love with her and couldnt let her marry - I hope this is right?

anyone remember this one?

thanks again

Suzanne | 2 comments I am looking for the following book: I believe it all takes place in Greece. Hero is told by his relative/sister that her husband is straying with some bimbo. Hero is some rich property developer sort and says he will take care of it. So he seduces the heroine (the bimbo)and makes sure sister's husband realizes it in some big revenge scene that takes place on a yacht. But then its revealed that its actually her father, and there is some awkward issues at the family get together.

I've actually read more than one HP with this plot! But I think this one might be The Greek's Ultimate Revenge.

Yes, that's it, thank you! :)

One more, I swear that will be the last. I only remember a few things. The heroine knew Hero from the past. H was in love with someone else while h was in love with H. H one day got dumped by his lover so he was angry and went to the forest for some reason where h was horse riding. H kissed h because he was angry at his lover. Years later h starts working as a secretary for H but h has grown up and is beautiful of course and H doesn't recognise her. I also remember that they travel to a business trip together but not sure about that one.

message 1527: by Lila (new)

Lila Collins | 2 comments Hey All,

I am looking for a marriage of convenience novel that has a rich rancher (well, I remember them living on a ranch at least) marrying the wife of his recently deceased best friend. I remember the man and his best friend were rock climbers and the best friend fell, and his best friend's wife blames him for the man dying. She's pregnant and in dire straits (I think), so the man offers to marry her to help support her and the baby.

I remember a Christmas party just a little while after she had the baby and she felt rundown and unattractive, with a few of the socialite women at the party making fun of her. The man was known for sleeping around and living a very "bachelor" lifestyle. There was a scene driving home from the Christmas party where she was angry at him and they stopped on the side of the road in the snow and had a heated argument that devolved into making out.

Lastly, I remember towards the end when they were basically in love with each other but hadn't told the other... she was rocking the baby to sleep singing "Hush, Little Baby" and when she got to "daddy's gonna buy you a mockingbird" she rubbed her feet against his and slipped her toes up the bottom of is jeans.

Hopefully you guys can help me find it, I remember really enjoying the novel but I can't find it for the life of me. :)

Rappaccini's Daughter (rappaccinisdaughter) | 1 comments Lila, your book is His Best Friend's Wife by Catherine Palmer.

The author wrote a clean/Christian version of it (Love's Haven) and I guess she thought the heroine putting her toes up inside the hero's pant leg and rubbing his calf was too racy so she changed it to the heroine touching her toe to his sock. o_O

Thank you! I swear I did a search with the exact title because I was sure that was the name of it, but the only book that came up was the one by Gina Wilkins. Anyways, you are so awesome... I have been searching for the book for a while and actually joined Goodreads just to see if anyone here knew what book it was. :)

Lol, about the cleaned up version... I didn't think it was all that racy either. *g*

message 1531: by willaful (new)

willaful | 344 comments I'm trying to remember an older HP, perhaps from the 80s. The heroine is in some profession that makes the hero think she's disreputable -- maybe singing in a nightclub? In the end, she tells him he had to take her character on trust, so there's no virginity surprise scene. I think the title had something to do with that scene.

message 1532: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments I only know 2 possibilities (both Charlotte Lamb) :
- Fever = heroine is a painter who lives w/ her stepbrother & hero thinks she's a man-eater.
- Love is a frenzy = heroine is a night club singer. Hero tries to bribe her to make her get away from his son.

willaful | 344 comments Thanks for trying, but it's definitely not Fever and I don't think it's the other one either. No, I read that one just a few months ago.

Cathy Norfin | 56 comments Help :-)

Wondering if anyone can remember this book -
I have a basic detail of it, but that is all and it is driving me crazy.

All I remember of this book is stated below:

There are 2 girls (think sisters) - The h 's sister is getting married and the H has suspicions, I think at first, that the h is just like her sister and marrying for money. ( I cannot remember the relation to the groom and the H) something changes H's mind and then H proposes to h and they also end up getting married. On wedding day, H overhears h talking with sister and the sister is talking to h making comments about landing and marrying for money and good job so to speak in also marrying H due to money, etc etc..

Fast forward to honeymoon and H takes h to an old run down hut or cabin i think - everything is old and not clean etc.. and H makes h work and clean and cook to make his point. i think he tells her that he overheard conversation with sister and at that point he decided to change honeymoon plans as a revenge tactic - so she is upset, but does clean, cook etc...

that is all I remember about it... does anyone know?

Thank you all :-) You are the best!

Maria Smith | 4 comments Hello! I am looking for a book where the heroine has a rich, wild step-sister that she has to look after. The heroine attends a house party with her sister where she loses her virginity to the hero. The hero didn't know she was a virgin and stops as soon as he realizes. The heroine eventually becomes the hero's mistress and becomes pregnant. The hero marries the heroine. The heroine suffers a stillbirth and falls into a deep depression. They both grow apart and the heroine files for divorce.

However, they end of rekindling their relationship. But once they do, the hero finds out that he father a child when they weren't together. The baby's mother committed suicide. The baby is a girl and has a skin disorder that makes her skin dry. The heroine begrudgingly cares for the baby but is bitter. Heroine eventually conceives again and delivers a healthy baby. They all live happily ever after. I'm pretty sure this is a two-book series. I have been looking for this book for a while; I would love some ideas!!!

Becky (beckynj) | 47 comments I really hated her other two-parter. I don't do well with cheaters though, it seems lots of readers love the virgin/celibate forever with the manho/cheater combo though, so these authors do write plenty!
