Christina, but with tea (steepedinbooks) | 28 comments This one was a Silhouette. Hero and heroine are very close friends. I think the heroine may have lived away for a time and is now back in town. She had two or three eccentric aunts. Heroine decides she wants a baby and asks the Hero to be a donor. When she asks him, she embarrasses herself because he's asking her if she wants some dinner or something and she's of course thinking about babies so instead of saying "I want some" she says "I want sperm". When they go to the clinic, he decides that doing things scientifically isn't what he wants, he'd rather they make a baby "the old fashioned way". I think they get married and fix up a run-down house.

message 1304: by Latrisha (new)

Latrisha Searching desperately for the following titles, read in mid 90's but could have been published in late 80's to early 90's.

The first I think is a Presents and is set mostly in Africa I think. The Heroine works for her father's company I believe, in photo or video work of some kind and is sent on a trip to the jungle in Africa or similar and the Hero meets her at the airport and immediately does not think she is cut out for the job. She falls ill and he has to take her home to care for her until she recovers. She then has all manner of accidents or does stupid things as they go about their business (he is acting as her guide so to speak, to show her around for the work she is doing) Like on a trek through the jungle she drinks from a lake and he gets really mad at her. There is tons of attraction. They finally get together and then there is some kind of misunderstand and she leaves back to America. I think she ends up pregnant, anyway after some time he comes to find her to tell her he loves her and they have a HEA. Sound familiar to anyone?
The second is a 2 into 1 book, the first story the hero's name is Wolfe & he saves this young woman from being attacked on the beach after a party, he takes her on his yaght (he is quite a bit older) and they end up together for several days. Her stepmother causes a misunderstanding between them. Then she comes back to town years later and ends up working for his business (unbeknown to her upon taking the job), as a buyer for his clothing shop.
The second story in the book, the heroine has red hair and the hero calls her Red. He agrees to marry her because she will lose her inheritance if not married by 25 or something and she think he needs her $ to run his ranch, but it turns he doesn't, it's because he loved her at first sight. Anyone?

The story takes place somewhere in the carribian. The H lives there he was a neighbor possibly grabdfathers lawyer. There is one point where both are hurt one breaks foot the other hurts head. I remember enjoying it and would like to again. It was first out in the mid to late 90s. Thank you.

message 1306: by Rose Alice (new)

Rose Alice | 102 comments So,the thing is,whenever I read a novel...I always save the names of minor, special appearance characters in a list in my notepad whom I think as interesting & might have a story of their own. And, after that whenever i get time,i search the name with the author of the novel.

Hmm,confusing? Let me clear it with an example. Think...I am reading Christmas Cowboy by Diana Palmer. Now there are five brothers(hart brothers). The novel is about Corrigan Hart. But in some places his brothers make appearances. They look big & gruf(but actually nice :) )Now some of the dialogue the Callagan Hart says makes me think....hmmm,intersting character(HE HAD SAID TO THE HEROINE IF IT WERE ME I WOULD HAVE NEVER LET YOU GO...or something like this),the author maybe have written a novel about him too...so I save the name in notepad & continue...Then when i get time,i go to google & search "Callagan HART DIANA PALMER". If there is a novel written on him, various links will appear,if not, then just random things.

Now MY problem is, I had saved the name Marcus Carrera & forgot about it. & today when i searched about him,i got a novel written on him (CARRERA's BRIDE).BUT I don't remember why in the first place I thought him interesting & saved his name. I mean in which book he appeared as specially & how? I know it sounds silly, but in some cases I read books based on the character. So please help me remember in which book he previously came in as a cameo& how..I mean the circumstances, description of him & his dialogues etc...Oh,forgot to tell,Marcus Carrera is also a DIANA PALMER character. Thanks for helping me :)

message 1307: by willaful (new)

willaful | 344 comments Carrera was kind of a bad guy, IIRC; the Diana Palmer site says he was a former gangster. I think he's mentioned in several books, and may have been responsible for a heroine being kidnapped, IIRC. But he's good at heart and was kind to her, and so he moved into good guy territory. Or am I thinking of Mechado? Sorry, I don't remember anything more than that.

Oh, an Amazon review says he's in Renegade

Hiker | 50 comments okay cannot think of the name of this book... I think the beginning of the book the h shows up at the heros office... they are either separated or divorced.. but they have a little girl whom he never wanted to know... and the little girlwants to meet her day... I do not believe the h bought the little girl to the office though.......

the h maybe from family money... she lives with her daughter and plays basket ball with an adult womans team for exercise one day a week.... ends up hurting her knee... the hero whom I think is there at the time... takes over with the little girl..... I think there is a giant dog in the story too....

ring any bells with anyone... ?

message 1311: by Carla (new)

Carla (carla121) | 36 comments Hi, ladies. A friend of mine needs some help to find the name of two stories. Thanks in advance for any help you can give us. The stories are very old, she says.

This is all she remembers.

BOOK 1 - The h was abandoned by her mother as a child, and it was quite traumatic for her. She becomes a doctor and saves the life of a man (an earl, my friend thinks) who had a heart attack, and this man is precisely the current husband of her mother. He has a son with whom h falls in love.

Book 2 - The H has a son and he doesn't know about that. The h is best friend of the boy's mother.. She starts a relation with the H by vengeance and she's engaged to him to get money to pay for the boy's operation... Her friend died in labour and the h became responsible for the boy. There's a priest who takes care of the boy, and they were raised together in an orphanage (the h, the priest and the boy's mother). She sells the engagement ring and gets the money to pay for the operation. That's all my friend can remember.

Siy | 26 comments Can anyone help me remember this book:
It's where the heroine gets dumped by her fiancé and she goes to a party with her coworker who is male and meets the hero.
She's drinking and her coworker I think does a car race with group but heroine stays with hero in his house and gives up her virginity that night - he falls for her hard but she is in a state of shock - she gets pregnant by him he wants her to marry him she doesn't - ex fiancé comes back into the picture he wants her back but hero is possessive and hides her in his house to rest with pregnancy
I remember a scene where she gets jealous when she sees hero in taxi with singer and she collapses ......
It's such a long time since I read it that I hope it can jog anyone's memory.

message 1315: by Giselle (new)

Giselle | 2 comments I read this book a while ago and I was wondering if someone could give me the title. Thanks in advance.

It has to do with a self-made millionaire who returns to help out his dead friend's sister (who sings at a bar or something) but she wants nothing to do with him because she blames him for killing her brother by giving him money for drugs. I think she needs protection from some men, and of course this rich man can give it to her. I remember vague details like the fact that she always lives on first floor because she was in a fire when she was young and this guy has a slide type thing from his penthouse for her. I also remember that he was surprised to find out she is a virgin. Lastly, if I am not mistaken they spent a lot of time on his yacht which she always called a boat.

I hope these details are coherent.Honestly, I can only remember bits and pieces.

message 1318: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 10 comments I still am looking for either of these books. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

All I can remember of the first is that the hero and heroine get stuck in this mansion that I believe the heroine is restoring or something for the hero. They get trapped there due to a storm that takes out the bridge that leads to the house.

The other is where the hero and heroine have known each other since teenage years. The heroine's grandfather had tricked her into believing that the hero had stolen something of value from her, as well as slept with women to help support his family. They grow apart and end up disliking each other until they're reunited and they learn the truth behind what happened when they were young.

Siy | 26 comments I have one more ......I think I'm actually going through nostalgia big time at the moment :)
I think it may be a lynne graham book but hero saw heroine when she was swimming in the sea near her villa which her teacher dad used to always go with and hero and he falls hard but fast forward some years later and her father marries Heros intended fiancé but he doesn't care since he likes her but I think she escapes the engagement and leaves with her dad and step mum but I think the step mum and dad die.....I can't remember anything else so if anyone remembers the book please can you let me know as it's bugging me :-)

bht22572 | 1 comments I'm trying to remember a book and all I can remember is the man and woman work together I think. The woman is his PA or something. They travel a lot for business. She falls in love with him and thinks that he will never love her back. In one part, he leaves to fly home and expects her to meet him there on a later flight, but she decides not to go because she thinks he doesn't love her and she can't be around him knowing she loves him. Please help me figure this out. It's driving me crazy. I think I read it in the 80s or early 90s. Thanks

Here goes: the H is an attorney who helped put her father in prison where he died. The father was apparently embezzling money. The h lost everything including her mother. She goes after the H and marries him for revenge. On her wedding night she reveals who she is and screams at him that he is a murder. That's only the first few chapters. I love this book and would like to find it again. Thanks for your help!!!

Baby of shame is definitely one of the books I used to make the imaginary combined book in my head :) I know I read another similar to this and I would love to find it again! I know it was twins(I want to say boys) and they were still babies because the book mentions h and stroller. I think it took place in London? I still remember h is sick or hurt or very down on her luck. I will definitely get Baby of Shame!

It sounds really familiar and i think the heroine sister was a model who had a baby and the heroine raises her as the sister dies right and I remember there was a boat scene where the Other Woman throws her off the boat and it's the only time the girl shouts out for her father (she never calls him by that) and he jumps in and saves her.....I think it may be a penny jordan book but I'm looking around just in case ....did it have a scene like that as I think the other woman regrets pushing her and shocks herself ?!?

I'm gonna have to rack my brains big time for this one lol
