Theo | 4 comments Hey guys im looking for a harlequin with the theme of marriage of convenience. The hero has a daughter and the heroine has a brother i think that she is in charge of. The daughter and her brother? become fast friends as soon as they meet and the daughter convinces her dad, the hero to drop them off at their house. Anyway the hero suggests marrying for the sake of the kids and also cuz the heroine is dirt poor. Sorry its not much to go on but the heroine was a virgin. They had sex on their wedding night (a bit forced cuz she did not want to). There is also an OW whos there a lot and theres the hero's friend who is really nice to the heroine. I think they are staying at a ranch of some sort.
Hero is a jerk and i remember there was a scene where he threw his unwashed shirt at her and demanded her to pick it up and wash it.
Anyone help will be appreciated

message 1105: by Ari (new)

Ari (tiredbear) | 4 comments Ok here's a Harlequin Presents I can't remember:

So heroine has a twin sister who somehow was in a relationship with a hero. I think he has his own hotel/island and the evil twin scammed/cheated on the hero. I think she dies and the heroine goes and pretends to be her sister for revenge(?)

The hero doesn't know that the women are twins and I think there was one time the heroine almost gave up her secret because she kept a picture of she and her sister together. I think one girl was holding a cat while the other couldn't because of an allergy. The hero sees this picture, I remember.

It's not a Sarah Morgan book for sure. Any help would be appreciated!

Loreli | 26 comments Okay I'm not sure this is even an HP book but I read it a few years ago. Guy owns a ranch and he advertises for a wife. Girl and friend come to town (can't remember why) first stop is a cafe where they see advertisement. Girl meets guy and they hit it off but he doesn't think she will hack it as a wife in the country plus when it snows your pretty isolated.. Ring any bells guys?

I'm pretty sure it's not Duncan's Bride since she flies west from New York to meet him specifically and there is no friend along with her. No café or friend until later in the book when they marry.

Sorry I don't know what it is though.

message 1110: by Loreli (new)

Loreli | 26 comments Hmm.. Then that's not it :(

Well Duncan's Bride is so worth the read though if you like mail order bride books. It's a favorite reread of mine. Obviously since I know it so well. ;-) So go ahead and give it a go anyway.

message 1112: by Kim (new)

Kim (travelwoman) | 2 comments I am looking for an older Harlequin Presents book. It was probably published in the mid to late 70s to maybe the early 80's. I think that the hero is blind and a famous musician. I think that he plays the piano but it might be another instrument or he could be a singer. The heroine is very young in the beginning of the book probably 18 or 19. They have a one night stand and are separated. Several years later they meet and I think that he has had an operation to restore his vision. I think that he might be all dressed in black on the cover.

Another is a scene is of her with him in a some terrace _ which has a table and chairs around it and umbrella _ and she was offering to be his mistress if he help her family , and he accept and they go to his bedroom and she remove her earring and about to take her dress but then he stops her.

Anne | 2 comments Looking for the title of this book, where the storyline starts with a teenage girl going to a studio to take pictures for her modelling portfolio. She was attracted to the photographer but he made her feel ashamed of herself. Then, a few years later, the girl became a famous model and met the photographer again who became a big shot. They started their affair while shooting in Koh Samui and return back to London and carry things off.

Hi All,

I read a book long time back, most probably Helen Bianchin where h is in a relationship with a guy and about to be engaged. But her family thinks that guy is not right. H is h's brother's friend/business partner. He asks h's to get his finance sign a prenuptial before engagement. That guy sign with note 'under duress'. h ends the engagement and later H woos her into marrying him.

If anyone remembers the book name, please help.

A.

Cc9 | 2 comments I really could use your help. I've been looking for the title and author of a early-mid-80s harlequin for over a year now with no luck. I'm hoping someone here can help. The story is about a young woman whose father passes and leaves her a cabin in Alaska. The hero is an entrepreneur and his company mines natural resources which leads him(and a group of workers) to the cabin. As I recall, the young woman thought she overheard a conversation among the mean regarding a bet(that the hero will sleep with her) and she decides to leave the cabin the next morning despite an incoming storm. Due to the inclement weather, the young woman becomes disorientated and is later found by the group of men. The young woman, in a state of delirium, confesses her true feelings to a man she thought to be her father(however, it turns out to be the hero). Thanks in advance for your help.

message 1126: by Jyothi (new)

Jyothi | 53 comments Unable to recall the title of this book. The H and h had a one night stand, the H was the h's sister's boyfriend who was flirting around, the H sleeps with the h and they have a child. They don't marry but the H is involved in caring for the child, he provides for the h and the child. The story starts with the h telling the H that she wants to marry and it is then the H goes all out to get the h. I think they have a 10 year old daughter. I felt it was a book by Michelle Reid but I have not been able to track it. Please help everyone out there...

Spikedominos (spikedominos) | 2 comments Help. Read a synopsis of a book. Now I can't remember the author or the title. Once a year the h meets the H and they play cards. H lets the h win just so he can see her smile. They are just friends since the h happens to be married to one of the H's friend. The h becomes a widow, and now she doesn't meet him. I think this book is part of the Harlequin line.

Nicole (frnicole) | 34 comments Hi, I hope someone can help. I can remember the breakup scene of this book very clearly: he comes back from work traveling and while she wants to tell him that she's pregnant, he wants to break up. They go to a restaurant and he goes first with his news. She vanishes through the back door and never goes back to their apartment. Years later, he sees her while she's waitressing in a restaurant he's visiting with friends. I think it could be a Lynne Graham. Any ideas?

message 1143: by Bapi (new)

Bapi | 2 comments Hi, I'm looking for two books and I'm not sure if I'm in the right thread, but I'll try anyway. I think I've read the books in the 90's.

1. h is English I think, lives in small village. She gets a new neighbour. He turns out to be some famous (American?) moviestar. She can't trust that he really wants her. At the end of the book she goes to London (?), there is an awardshow. She almost splits, but he catches her in the street. She gets all dressed up and goes to the awardceremony with him.
(I also have the feeling she wins him at a fair or something, but that could be from another book)

2. h is younger than H, I think her name is something like Erin/Elin. H is very serious, responsible for all his siblings, (maybe h is a friend of one of his siblings). H doesn't want to have a relationship with h, cause she is to young and she has to experience life and not have his responsibilities,(?) but h gets under his skin. H is rich rancher or something?

message 1145: by Row (new)

Row (iluvglee) | 1 comments He guys, so I'm looking for this novel where the human girl has the ability to see magic people and everytime after a portal closes she can see where they went. She thinks she has been fighting for this great fairy king and is in love with his right hand knight who protects her all her life. She has been having a double life and keeps repeating this college class, and when she is finally going to take the final the rebels come and kidnap her. She falls in love with her kidnapper and finds out everything she has been told is a lie.

Janice | 37 comments I'm looking for help with a hp that is probably 10 years or older. Unfortunately, I can't remember too much about the book, but one scene sticks with me. I think the h's sister died in childbirth. I'm pretty sure the h meets the H at the hospital after her sister dies. I think the H is the uncle of the baby. Don't know what happened to the father. I think the baby was a boy. I remember the H thinking about what great legs the h had as she is walking away from him. Sorry, I know it's not alot to go on, but if anyone can figure this out I know you guys can.
