Help! I can't remember the name of this book...
I checked it, and it isn't the book I meant, but thanks!More info:
The hero fell for her when he saw her at her boardingschool. I believe in a tennisoutfit. It might be that he was there to tell her her father died, but I'm not sure.
She might have at one point been a model.
Again, I'm not sure, but the Eiffel Tower could be in the background of the front of the book. With a classy blonde on the cover

hey josette... i'm thinking its Dishonourable Proposal
Another book I'm looking for:It's about a woman who is receiving valentine gifts from a secret admirer. This includes a singing telegram (she doesn't like it.) The last gift includes negligee and a teddybear (?) with a ring. It turns out to be her boss and she yells at him because she didn't see the ring and thinks he just wants an affair.
I believe the mother of the hero called her thinking she accepted the proposal.
Later on, the heroine goes to the hero and gives him the box with what he thinks is her ring, it turns out to be a ring for him from her.

It is.
I just remembered the name of the hero. It made searching a lot easier.
It's "His Darling Valentine" by Carole Mortimer.
You can find it in the same book as "The Boss's Marriage Arrangement" by Penny Jordan, titled "Boardroom to Bedroom."

Sira | 2 comments Hi there im here racking my brain trying to find the name of this title:
The heroine is set to inherit from the will of a man (her biological dad). His adopted son/godson is highly resistant that she should inherit at all (he doesnt know the girl is the man's daughter, both of them kept it a secret)
He tracks her down and she repeatedly runs away from him. At one point in the novel she even escaped through a window and the man's security guard (who had a cold) lets her get away.
The heroine had a thing for ornamental rabbits (i think!).
Nearing the end of the novel she revealed the secret relations and she had a ring belonging to her father.
Help me out please!

Hello everyone,Looking for a book published around 91-95, I guess. Started it more than 10 years ago but never got to finish it.
The heroine is coming back to some place near the beach, probably where she grew up (not sure about that part). There she learns that some guy, the hero, that she has known years ago is also here. He is seen with another woman but we don't know their exact relationship though it is strongly suggested that she is his new girlfriend.
When she meets the hero, he is not friendly and give her a cold stare. It looks like he is resentful but I don't remember why.
They meet again on several occasions. Once, they go to the beach with some friends but for some reason, they are left alone in a small boat. There, they kiss and go a little further (I think they mention that she was wearing a blue swimsuit) but when they come back, he acts as if nothing happened and get back to his girlfriend.
This happens halfway through the book and I don't know what happens next.
Thank you for your help.
I read a harlequin about 12+ years ago, really liked it but can't remember the name or the author. All I remember is- Hero is a mountain climber who loses his sight in an accident.
- Heroine is a nurse I think
- He hires her to assist during his recovery, they get married (it's a temp business arrangement)
- Hero regains sight, doesn't tell Heroine...
- Once the cat's out of the bag, he leaves to climb another mountain, Hero leaves (conflict) then HEA
You guys are awesome, I'm hoping someone can help me locate this book.
Thanks
Sara

I'm desperately looking for a book I read about 10 years ago, It's similar to A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett in that it's a little girl in a boarding school whose parents die, but in the book that I'm looking for, the little girl has a cat and must give the cat away, and she becomes a maid and stays a maid in the end, instead of being found by a rich gentleman, as in Burnett's version. Hope this isn't too vague, but I can't remember much more about it.

I am also looking for an older book. I think that the heroine's name was Catherine. She was married to an older man named Robert who died and left her well off. She had stock in a company owned by a Greek tycoon who ended up marrying her for the stocks. She also had a cocker spaniel dog. The tycoon didn't believe she was a virgin and ended up taking her to Greece. Can anyone help me with the title and author? My copy of the book never was returned and I have been searching for it without success. Can anyone help??
Hi guys!there is a title of a Harlequin Presents book that im valiantly in search of and all I can remember is the end. I hope one of you wonderful ladies can help me and guys too if you are out there.....
I think its the epilogue - the husband comes home (I think he may be a Spaniard, Sicillian) from work or the office and his wife is waiting for him to throw him his birthday party with the house full of people and shes all dressed up.
He kisses her and asks for her assistance to go upstairs with him to help him get ready and they proceed to have sex and leave the guests to fend for themselves.
They later remarked that news would spread about town that the husband needed three hours to get ready for his own birthday party for years to come...
Thats it - all i can remember. I hope you guys can help me out! Thanks!
Sira, your book sounds like one of the epilogues that Lynne Graham writes, good luck in finding it,sounds intresting.

This post was made way back in June and the book ws identified as The Odds Againstby margaret Pargeter.
At the time I indicated that I was sure that this was two different books. The odds Against and another which I couldn't remember. I've looked ever since and FINALLY today ran across the other. In Name Only, Roberta Leigh. Probably no one is still interested but just in case.....
Oh, that cover looks so familiar to me! I wonder if it's one I read as a girl, or if it's just the style I recognize.

Sira, did you like the book..because the reviews are rather low....if you liked it, what did you like? JB can be hit or miss..in that she can go too far with her heroes....to the point where you really don't want them with the heroine.

WOW THATS IT!
I couldnt remember for the life of me the story only that one scene I described - maybe because that was the only good part?! lol
BUt I just want to say a big thank you to all of you ladies that took up the challenge in finding this book.
I really appreciate it! Thank you again :)
I only hope I can return the favour in naming that book someday to someone else :)
Great! I thought it was JB and herThe Greek Tycoon's Love-Child but after checking, it did not fit. As Leona said some of the heroes are from the Middle Ages but there are some that I really like.

Have to agree with you ladies on JB's heroes. But I gobble them up because after all, they are so far gone for the heroine and so utterly smitten that they can be quite adorable too. There's just something lovable about those You Jane, Me Tarzan JB heroes.

I can't remember the title but I was wanting to give it as a gift. The title has something to do with "dark" or "night" it's about a boy in Ireland who gets into trouble while living in Dublin and his mother moves him and younger brother out to the country and he discovers something magical, faeries maybe, but they had to put a dish of milk out each night he works hard next door farming and working on a car that he uses to run away back to Dublin. I can't remember and would really appreciate the help
Hello All! I am so glad I found this group:)I cannot find the title of the book but I remember the author - Penny Jordan. I vaguely remember that the main plot is about stepbrother and stepsister relationships. The heroine was jealous of sharing her parents affection with her adopted brother and was very capricious when being a teenager. I think she even took some pills and ended up in the hospital. Her adoptive brother left her parents' house after that accident. He comes back years later (when her farther in the hospital). She is all grownup and more mature with regrets about her past behavior. Does it ring a bell for anyone? Thanks!

Payment in love ?
Havent read yet. But if true, gotta read it cuz I lurve step sibs theme X^{P
Another title I don't remember. I am also not sure about the author but it was well written. The hero is a famous actor. He meets the heroine on some kind of island or resort (I don't remember her occupation but she was nt famous). They spend night together (she was a virgin). The hero is besotted with heroine. But she runs on him the next day. He tracks her down and of course turns into major jerk to make her pay and keep her with him. I think the heroine got preggo after the first night too but I am not sure. That's all I remember. I would really like to find it. The hero was hot and writing - very decent. I think it's from 80s-early nineties as I read it long time ago.

This sounds a bit like Temptation by Charlotte Lamb. The names are wrong (Linden and Joss, but she was very young, he did buy a painting of hers by her father, and she might have thrown something at him at one point. The hotel stuff doesn't pan out, but she saw the picture in his bedroom when she visited his house.
