Thank you kindly KimReads, this is the book, you are a start!

You’re welcome!
As it happens I picked it up at a second hand book shop not that long ago!

I'm looking for a title and author of an old harlequin book (year 80).
What I remember is a young woman who saves the life of a little boy and his father (I have a doubt about the father).
She's a widow working on a boat with her brother-in-law (brother of the deceased).
Naturally, the little boy becomes attached to her, as does the father.
The heroine's first name, but now I'm not sure at all: Sara... but not suuuure at all :)
Many thanks in advance, really.

1. a Hqn I read in the 2000s, so its at least as old. It had to do with the world of racing/ formula one. I recall a love triangle of sorts where the Hero's friéd / OM was killed after he learned the h is carrying the H's child right before a race(or smthg like that). They were both riddled with guilt.
The second book is one where the MC 's marriage broke up because of the H's dangerous job. The h could not live with the constant fear of losing him, so she walks away after an ultimatum. I think he was a war journalist but he could have been an athlete too.
Thanks.

The Virgin's Secret

I think it is one of the shorter length HQ/M&B.
I thought it might be Lynne Graham but can’t see it in her Goodreads list.
It is the usual Mean Old Greek Billionaire (MOGB) whose son has a daughter, the h, and she and her mother are left in poverty. She approaches him for help and will only get it if she marries a man of his choosing, the H. All I really remember is that towards the end the H visits the h and her mother in a shoddy flat and can’t believe the MOGB has left them in such dire straits. Somehow it hits the news and the MOGB is left to die a lonely unhappy old man while the H, the h and the mother are all happy in the H’s mansion in Greece.
It was so unusual for the mean family member to get his comeuppance that that part stuck in my mind but the rest has gone the way of so many plots. I would like to reread if I could.
As I said I thought it was LG but can’t identify any of her like this, so any help much appreciated. If you can think of any others where the Mean Relative or OW gets their comeuppance I am happy to add those to my TBR mountain….obviously I am in a vengeful mood today 😁😁

LG has written one on very similar lines but I think the one you're looking for is The Greek's Virgin Bride by Julia James.

Yes! Thank you….that’s been tickling my brain for nearly a week now!

Can anyone help me find the other one though, now that @KimReads has mentioned it, it's stuck in my head.
Additional details:
The accident that injured the mother was a boat explosion suspected to have been caused by the grandfather. The heroine, who is a child at the time, is also caught in the explosion and falls in water and is rescued by the hero. She has a fear of water because of this.

First one is Michelle Reid's The Man Who Risked it All

So, H asked h to be his mistress in exchange for saving her family but he was planning revenge (I think)
There is a scene where she gets a phone call that her family lost their home, that was during a party and she fought with H. He asked her to take off the dress cuz he bought it.
It was a misunderstanding and her family didn't lose their home.

Then she gets pregnant. I don't remember how she finds out about the H or if the H meets her again. But he does find out that she is pregnant and kind of forces her to go with him. He takes her to some island home of his, I think and she gets waited on hand and foot (No family members there either). And promptly abandons her there. Then he returns after some days and there is a storm and the house is kind of in danger. The H is injured and the pregnant h has to drag him to safety which causes her to miscarry.
I don't remember what happens next. But, until this point, I don't think the H and h have much interaction with eachother. I could be wrong, but it's the impression that I have. I don't think that there were any OW/OM drama either.
If anybody remembers this book. Please Help!!!

Sounds good, I want to read it! How old do you think it is?

The hero is a king or prince of a desert kingdom. When the heroine meets him she has no idea. She thinks he is maybe a well connected member of government. They travel around his city, and because of his status are often able to access certain areas that the general public is not allowed in. The heroine just thinks it's because he knows people or that these places are lesser known and therefore less crowded.
I know it's not a lot to go on. If anyone has any idea, please share.

I am not sure about the year it was published. But I think it should be around early 2000's. I read it as an ebook. So, I am assuming that it wasn't much older than 2000's. I could be wrong.

Prince of the Desert by Penny Jordan? That is one with the hero being able to go all sorts of places, but I know I've read more than one with that trope. So this might not be what you're looking for.

I remember bits and pieces, but he does take her sightseeing. And they go to this one place for a meal, which is accessed by a simple door but turns out to have fabulous interiors. She thinks it's a restaurant or something, but it turns out to be a private space accessible only to royalty. When she finally finds out who he really is, she thinks back to several previous occasions when she saw people almost bow towards him and she mistook it for a cultural practice when actually it was because he's a much respected king/prince.
I realise this is all very vague, it's all jumbled up in my head.

There's a Diana Palmer where they are in the East, but I can't remember the name.

And one I frequently re-read is Damiano's Return
In CC book he was in a cult and worshipped as a god, in LG he was in prison under another name, I believe.
Does anyone know of an others where the H has been missing and on his return is reunited with his wife?
Thanks for reading and grateful for any suggestions.

EDIT: Pretty sure this is Greek Tycoon, Waitress Wife by Julia James.
This is definitely a Harlequin Presents. I can't remember the title. The h is the child of two really smart people. When he finds her, he parks in the spot reserved for a department head who isn't happy to see him in a fancy car blocking his spot. The H gives him a huge donation to the department. The guy says that since the h will be marrying the H, the department that she works in will now get the benefit of the H's wealth.
Maybe someone else remembers the title.

I think this is a Harlequin presents but not sure.

Unwrapping the Castelli Secret another one, h this time, not H If you're a CC fan, you'll love the dialog.

Please help me find this book.
This is what I remember form the book.
The hero came to sign business agreement with the heroine father and ended up marrying her.
Heroine father doesn't believe in education and doesn't treat heroine mother well.
Some things that struck out to me was the fact that the hero was an orphan, he used to work for ow father and was used and discarded by ow.
He has an all boys orphanage he help, heroine found receipt of children clothes he bought in his pants and assumed he had a child outside so she followed him and met the boys.
She made a poodle for one the boys that doesn't eat since he was separated from his sister.
Does this ring a bell to anyone

Thanks but that's not it. We don't know she's an academic until the end. I do like Julia James, though couldn't find this one on the library sites.

Reader in NJ is correct this book is Greek Tycoon, Waitress Wife I've read it about 10 times. H recalls her mentioning Marchester and that is how he tracks her down. She was getting a book at the library and someone addresses her by her title. That is when "we" find out that she is academic continuing her father's research.

looking for a book where the heroine puts out an ad for a companion to accompany her to a wedding/event (since she recently broke up with her boyfriend)? the man who respond's is the H's brother.
somehow she meets the whole family and the H seduces the h to get her away from his brother, then marries her. h falls in love with the H during this time but H reveals his plan to her and becomes cold after the honeymoon. He spirits her away to his private Greek Island afterwards.
I believe the H also had a younger sister, there's a bit of a side-plot romance between her and her boyfriend I think? The H's brother is revealed to be fiscally irresponsible.
thank you in advance!
(if this is allowed) if anyone has more books with heroes who seduce heroines for nefarious purposes & become cold after marrying please send them my way!

Unfortunately I don’t know the name of the one you asked for.
If you are after Revenge Seductions - have you come across Jennie Lucas? She is very fond of that. Her writing is almost gothic I think but I definitely recommend.
There’s a Lucy Monroe book where he sets out to seduce and marry her. He doesn’t go cold and surprisingly she is relatively okay with his plan.Prince of Secrets
I’ll have a think and see if any others come to mind.
Actually Jacqueline Baird does a few Revenge plots. I haven’t read all of hers but I do recommend her.
Michelle Reid also has some revenge plots - but really I would just read everything by her because, just because!

Thanks for confirming. That scene that I wrote about was at the end when the H found the h and we find out how smart she is - and is not the dumb blonde bimbo that his family thought.

Lots of good ones in that list.
Painted the Other Woman also a suggestion, H is so awful to h I love it when she whacks him in the face.

It could possibly be Snowfire by Anne Mather, yet that one is quite a bit older. I think there is another one, but I haven't found it in my list yet. I'll keep looking.

I read it around 20 years back. Hero and Heroine are cousins. Hero inherits heroine's father's estate in England as women cannot inherit and heroine's half brother is illegitimate so he cannot inherit. I think Hero lives in America. Hero and Heroine sleep together. Hero goes back to America. When he comes back he finds out that the heroine is pregnant and he marries her and takes her with him. He fell in love with her at first sight.
Thank you
