Amy I totally find that to be true. After I read a book I often try to be more like the main characters or look for people in that situation so I can see how I can help others. What are some of the books you find have shaped your life, so to speak? And if you can explain why?
I think the reason we read is to be touched by the characters and their plights. Some books have changed my mindset completely - like I never thought about the perpetrator in a school shooter until I read Nineteen Minutes. It was always about the people shot, until I read that book and realised the shooter was a victim too, just in a different way.
