what edition do you choose?

i usually add books to my goodreads shelves by isbn but how would i do this with an ebook? do they have isbn's and i'm just not seeing them? i did a search on a couple of things i downloaded from gutenberg.org but could find anything.

The easiest way for me is to just hover my cursor over the book cover and it may say whether it's hardcover, paperback, audio or Kindle. I've not seen any other ebooks so if I read one on my Nook I pick the Kindle one.

I'm interested to see if someone in the know could better answer your question.
