Nerds: like a geek only dresses terribly
Geeks: like a nerd only dresses anywhere from decent- amazerful

Dorks: a general term for kinda smart people or kinda losers or kinda geeks or kinda stupid people (so like a vaugue term for someone who doesn't fit into a catagory firmly)

To be a geek you have to be into school, or smart, right? I'm not either. I hang out more with the smokers behind the school.

message 13: by Daisy (new)

Daisy Then you MIGHT be a dork somethimes

message 14: by Ky (new)

Ky (poeticshark) Girl4beluga wrote: "hey can i ask you a question kenny? I don't really care but do you keep deleting me from your friends list?"

The first time I swear I didn't delete you. My goodreads account was spazzing. And then my parents made me go through and get rid of over half my friends. I'm sorry.

I'm just 'The Weird Girl that Dances in the Hallway/Cafeteria".

Science...I'm more into electricity than the rest..though chemistry is more fun with no rules. :P

message 27: by Tsuki (new)

Tsuki Nerds are people of intelligence, geeks are people who are obsessed with one particular thing (like me I are a comic nerd *_^). And I don't use the term dork I use "L 7 weenie!". Ahhhh how geeky things make the world go round.

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 963 comments Nerd (n.)
1. What stupid jealous people call smart people
You actually studied so you wouldn't fail? What a nerd!
2. A person who does extremely well in academics; they focus soley on academics and have no social life
I asked the school's biggest nerd to the dance, but he couldn't come because he was too busy writing his twelth extra credit report to try to get a higher than perfect grade.
3. A person who is obssessed about something in an intellectual manner
Being a theatre and language nerd, I spend my math classes writing down my analysis of the symbolism in Spring Awakening in Spanish.

Geek (n.)
1. A socially awkward person
2. A person who is obssessed with less academic subjects, such as comics, action figures, role-playing, fanstasy, sci-fi, etc.

Dork (n.)
1. A very socially awkward person; generally thought of as "weird"
Note: Can sometimes be used interchangeably with "geek"

All of these terms can also be terms of endearment, and though they are all traditionally negative, many "nerds", "geeks", and "dorks" have realized that being "normal" is overrated, and proudly accepted their titles.

message 29: by Clarence :P (new)

Clarence :P OKay,
I am not really any of those the way you put it, because I am not socially awkward at all. But I do love reading, writing, singing, acting, many things most "normal" children find a hastle.
And I'm kind of crazy. XD

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 963 comments Well, the "socially awkward" part is just part of some of the definitions. I openly call myself a nerd, though I'm not all that socially awkward. I'm odd, but I have odd friends, so we all fit in together. XD

message 31: by Clarence :P (new)

Clarence :P I actually consider myself kind of popular at my school...

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Mm. If I go by the discriptions Rachel had for those three "groups" I'm probably a geek/nerd. Although really I'm a loner.

message 33: by Clarence :P (new)

Clarence :P I'm theatrical.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

A nerd is normally a person considered to be very clever, and often lives for one specific academic subject. e.g, a really smart kid who is obsessed with microbiological evolution.

A geek is normally a person who dresses normally, talks normally, and acts normally. The people who usually decide on this stuff are usually the people who come to school wearing almost nothing, will do anything for the attention of the opposite sex, and are often called 'bitchy' or 'jock-assed' s'cuse the swearing. So basically, if you study for exams, wear proper clothes, and are not best friends with the popular people, you are considered a geek.

And as for a dork...most people consider a dork a person who is 'uncool' and stupid.

message 35: by Clarence :P (new)

Clarence :P I am dorky, but I am not uncool or stupid. I am just eccentric. =)

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Lol. Cool. I'm not any of those. If you go by that description then I'm probably a geek. Although I was best friends with the popular kids back when I did go to school. But as I said earlier, I'm really a loner.

message 37: by Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten (last edited Jun 01, 2010 04:41AM) (new)

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Haha. Cool. I get called weird all the time. lol. A lot of the time it is myself that calls me weird.

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Me too. Being weird is a sign of being uniqe. =)

message 39: by Annie (new)

Annie (annieiscool13) Im weird and proud!

message 40: by Clarence :P (new)

Clarence :P I like the word "unique" betetr then "weird" when I think of "weird" I think of an unsocial outcast, personally.

Daisy Clare Bear wrote: "I like the word "unique" betetr then "weird" when I think of "weird" I think of an unsocial outcast, personally."

I am an unsocial outcast. I'm just in disguise.

message 42: by Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten (last edited Jun 02, 2010 06:46PM) (new)

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten hehe. I am a social outcast. Cause I choose to be. I could quite easily be not a social outcast, but people are boring...

message 43: by Daisy (new)

Daisy People are stupid and I am sad !!

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Why are you sad?

message 45: by Daisy (new)

Daisy I have to break up with my boyfriend

Lynx ~ 10/1 Never Forgotten Oh. Um... Have fun with that. I'm SOOOOO glad I don't have a boyfriend. Or get crushes. It makes life so much easier.

message 48: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay I am not into guys my age. They think they're so cool and so old but they're NOT! I prefer college aged guys. :P Even though I'm a young high schooler, but they're more manly and better looking than kids my age. So I don't like them.

message 49: by Annie (new)

Annie (annieiscool13) I hate when that happens! Boys are so annoying when they think they are so hot and so cool! I just want to throw a tomato at their faces. =)

message 50: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay Haha! If I had some I so would! :P
