Esther (eshchory) | 13 comments I recently added this book
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/82...

through the 'add a new edition' link here
http://www.goodreads.com/work/edition...

However the old edtions are not up showing on the new book's page and the new edition is not showing up with the others.

Is there a refresh time delay or did I do something wrong?

Sherry (ssaccoliti) | 601 comments Sometimes it takes a while.

Sherry (ssaccoliti) | 601 comments I went in and manually combined it. It should be combined now. Not sure why the "add new edition" didn't do this.

Sandra | 31511 comments Add new edition does not combine, you must do that manually after creating the new edition.

Esther (eshchory) | 13 comments Thanks.

Could you explain how to manually combine?
I searched but couldn't find an obvious solution and 'Help' didn't provide any explanation of how.

First, you have to get a list of the editions. I don't think this works when you're on the page of the edition you just added, you have to go to where there's more than one edition and click on "see all additions" or whatever that is. Then, you'll find a link in the upper right corner that says "combine editions". That that will link you to a page that allows you to check off books with similar titles. Check the books you want to combine and click "combine" or whatever it is.

That bugs me and is the main reason I became a librarian. I was adding audio books but had to come here to ask to have them combined. I don't do much library work, just adding audio books occasionally and entering a narrator here and there.

Esther (eshchory) | 13 comments Thanks so much.

I had just assumed 'Combine' meant to 2 or more editions into 1 in order to cancel out doubles etc.
