Please delete: Dreams from my FatherThis edition http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/12... and this edition http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/19... should be deleted so they combine with http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/47... if we are keeping editions with nothing to indicate they are different other than that the title is in a foreign language. If the decision was not to keep those types of entries - then all three can be deleted.

A question with them:
The book I've tried to delete (the one without ISBN) actually has only 11 ratings and 7 reviews. But the deletion (hence the merging) need to be performed by a superuser. Does the rule about book merge have been changed (from the one listed in the librarian manual)?

Nenangs,Well, some of the above was already done. The 2nd link goes to a list of books, not a single edition, but I think I finished getting these in order.
Re your question: The number of shelves the book is on is a factor, not just the number of ratings.
And I think more than 10 ratings requires a super user, or has that changed?! Anybody?

No, you're probably correct. The reason I took so long with that post was that I'd remembered there was some sort of change and was trying to look it up. It could very well be 15.Thanks Rivka!

Mary, I'm confused. That one seems to have a unique ISBN -- why should it be deleted? Or did you just want it merged with the other editions? I did that.

Are these considered valid books, or should it be merged with another audio version that has an ISBN? "Baby Proof" by the same author has one of these editions as well.

Ashley, Got all of the above except for the audio download edition. I think of these as separate editions. If I'm wrong about that, any other librarian is free to delete/combine. If audio downloads are identical to CD versions, and I assume they are not but I don't know, maybe I'd feel differently.

Came across this one today, and googled to see if it really existed since there's no ISBN - and it doesn't. Seems that Fielding's character was developed in a series of newspaper columns before the novel was written, and this is what the work refers to, so it seems to me that this isn't a valid book. (There were 2 identical editions added by the same user, so I deleted the second but this one has too many reviews). Also, a few people who reviewed it seem to be referring to the book, so perhaps these reviews should be merged with the rest. Thanks!

I agree with you about the second but at least one member was probably reviewing the interview about the book so I recreated it and hopefully they'll find it (I did leave in Helen Fielding's name as a second author & iif anyone finds some identifying ISBN or anything please add it) and not add another copy:

Rivka, I put it back because from what Ashley said it sounded as though someone will create it otherwise, without saying it's not a book, and more ratings/reviews will get posted to it. But I'm happy to delete the book if you think it shouldn't be there; I basically agree.Just let me know and I'll delete it, or you can delete it.
If it gets entered again though, and I notice, I'll message the person who manually enters it, because I suspect they really did want to rate the interview.
