jD and Kindlelicious, I've checked out your blog and would like to ask for your help. Since both of you love your Kindle, do you have a review of it? Or if not would you mind telling me the pros and cons, what you love about it what could be better, etc.? I'm seriously contempalting investing in buying one, the problem is that I have never seen one (just the online pics) and as I live outside the US can't even try it out first, so I would be really grateful for any opinion or advice!

@Stella, the main con of the Kindle is that you can only use Kindle edition books. Many other eReaders, like the Sony eReader or the new Kobo don't have DRM (digital rights management) protection, so you can get ePUB documents from anywhere on the net. You can get any free books on Google and also (definitely on the Sony version), you can download books from your local library if they are part of that program.

Stella-I love my Kindle!!! I think it's very user friendly and the design is very sleek(thin and light). I really have no problems buying books most are pretty reasonable heck some a even free,lol! Melissa is right though you can only buy ebooks on amazon really for the Kindle. Also like me I read alot of PDF books so sometimes converting them on the Kindle looks a little funny but still very readable:) This is just my opinion though *no stone throwing please* but I didn't care too much for the Sony eReader or the B&N Nook. Both didn't seem to be as easy for me to use as the Kindle is. I don't know too much about the Kobo though. I would say go into a Best Buy and test both the Sony eReader and the Nook just to see how you like them:)

Stella--There are not words for how much I love my kindle. I seriously have not had one issue with it. The issue I do have is the e-book wars that are going on right now. I won't get into it here, but basically the big publishers want to able to charge more for e-books but Amazon wants to keep prices at $9.99 or less. Because of this, I have lost a few pre-orders for some really big releases lately, which really upsets me. I have no doubt all of this will work itself out like the whole mp3 drama did years ago, but I am getting pretty irritated by it. But to answer your question, that is the only con I can come up with for the kindle. If you have more questions, I do love chatting about my kindle, so feel free to ask. :)
