I loved it to. I cried a lot escpecially when she played the piano for her dads funeral

You think it was lame? i thought it was really good (: Miley Cyrus wasn't bad (which was what I expected)and Liam Hemsworth aside from being super gorgeous was really good I thought. I agree with you that allot of things was changed, but I actually liked allot of the changes.I think that the movie in some way is better than the book (which I NEVER think)story wise. But aside from the fact I liked the changes, i thought it was strange that the book and the movie didn't follow the same pattern. After all he did write the manuscript first.
I liked the book.. I thought nicholas sparks made an amazing and moving story, as he always does ;)
I read the book a few months back and LOVED the book. I went out this morning and rented the movie and I LOVED IT!!! Best job ever turning a Sparks book into a movie!!!
You have to remember with this particular movie/book combo, the movie was made first and then the book was written......Sparks has never done this before so he got to really develop the story more while he was writing. The Last Song is one of my top 5 books of all time.
I absolutely loved this movie, but i have to admit i did cry more than i have cried at a movie in a long time. The DVD is out now and i have it and have watched it many times and i cry each time. I love this movie and thought that Miley Cyrus done a great job as Ronnie.I love this movie. one of my favourites.
As I understood from the conversation between Lady Vale and Amalie that the movie has lots of differences with its original book. So, I've watched movie and I loved it very much especially the part that Ronnie played piano for her dad's funeral. it was great and sad.
So, I can't read book because I've seen the movie therefore, I'm not interested in reading the book.
OK Vale, I'll do what you said about book. I'll try to read book when I forgot the whole scenes of movie....thank you for your advice
I finally saw this and even though I really don't like Miley Cyrus I think it was a pretty okay movie. I might have liked it better if someone else would have played Ronnie.

I enjoyed this movie even though there were some differences, I thought they stayed quite true to the book.
The book was so much better IMO. It is to be expected I guess, but the book is definitely one of my favorites and the movie isn't. I also agree with Jodie, Steve didn't once raise his voice in the book.
I think the book was wonderful and the movie was good too, just why Miley Cyrus??????????
I heard another one of his books was going to be made into a movie. Is that true?

i agree the acting wasn't the best but Nicholas Sparks did right the screeenplay b4 he wrote the book. so maybe thts y the book was better but idk
I also heard that the rights for Safe Haven were bought and it will be made into a movie also!!
The book was so much better! I felt like certain key things were changed and so much was left out of the movie. Almost everything involving Marcus was gone, the wedding scene was different, and the reason behind the fire at the church was completely changed. Plus, everytime I saw Miley all I could picture was "Miley" not "Ronnie." I don't think she portrayed the character very well.With that said, I still didn't mind the movie. I thought the actors who played her father and brother were fantastic and Liam Hemsworth (Will) wasn't too hard on the eyes either. ;) And I still cried like a baby at the end.
I loved this book! I was a little iffy about the movie, just because of the fact it was made by Disney, so I was afraid they were going to do the whole Disneyify thing, but they did great, and then I was worried about Miley Cyrus playing Ronnie. I personally am not a big fan of Miley's singing, but she was actually really good as the character. I still think she should stick to acting not singing. The one thing that really bugged me was the fact that they didn't give Ronnie the PURPLE STRAND!! That was such a small thing (you can buy them at Claires for like $4!!) but such a huge part of Ronnie's character!!
I personally liked the book better. I did not like Miley as Ronnie. But I loved the other cast!
