Phil,I loved "Billy Elliot" (now that is a DVD I should own) and "Casino Royale". I haven't seen "Julie & Julia". But given your other two choices get the thumbs up I will check it out as well as your top 5.

My daughter & I watched Julie & Julia last night, not a bad movie.
I am sure I'm going to cause offence here, but Meryl Streep has the most amazing ability to put on the worst fake accent ever!!!!!!!!! I still haven't forgiven her for portraying Lindy Chamberlain (Evil Angels 1988 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094924/) an Australian film, worst worst worst Australian accent ever!

LOL, OMG!!! I must have missed that episode. What a classic.

So your list should read:
The Sandlot
Funny People
I like this thread too! It has inspired me to watch a few movies. Something that I really haven't done since having children. I have watched plenty of childrens movies, fun at the time, but I have just about reached my limit on Pixar movies.

Aww, nooo!!! :( I'm sorry you didn't like it, Sally. I know you'll definitely like The Sandlot, though. I don't know anyone who doesn't like that movie.

I love Pixar movies. Even the ones where I see the preview and say "ugh, really?" (Cars...) turn out to have their own charm.
My favorite is The Incredibles, but I love Finding Nemo and Ratatouille and Wall-E and Up and...
I haven't seen Ratatouille, but the others are all good movies.

Ratatouille does an amazing job with the food and the kitchen. If you look closely at the hands of the chefs they even have proper nicks and burns on them.
I just put it on my Netflix list

It wasn't good because it was Adam Sandler. Good movies with "Funny" in the title are Funny Face, Funny Girl, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
A good movie with "People" in the title is Ruthless People.
I don't know why I didn't like it. I didn't expect it to be funny. The parts that were joke-filled where rather disgusting. Too much talk about penises, the size and shape of. The whole part about Tom Cruise, Beckham, and WIll Smith touching penises went on WAAAAAAAAAAAAAaY too long. I wasn't suprised to see Sarah Silverman making a vagina out of her mouth. That was disgusting and typical of the sort of "humor" this movie about Hollywood assholes was filled with.
I'm sorry, there were parts that were humorous and cute. I like Jason Schwartzman. But I don't get all the "jew" jokes. I really don't, nor do I get the penis frenzy. I like serious Adam Sandler, but I don't like asshole Adam Sandler.
That said, the end of the movie (when it finally arrived) was cute.

Oh! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that movie.
"I've been kidnapped by K-Mart!!!!!!!!!!"
