Well now that my Coco is a month old I'm slowly getting myself and family back on track. We are developing more of a schedule (YAY!)
I wanted to check in and see if there was still enough interest to do the cookbook we had mentioned earlier?
I'm wondering a couple of things...
1) Still interested? Yes No Maybe Another time
2) If yes would you just be interesting in buying one or also contributing recipes?
3) If yes to contributing aprox how many do you think you would add? (I as because we need atleast so many recipes because no one wants a 4 recipe cookbook ;)
4) If yes to any or all of the above do you have a favorite women/children and or literacy charity you would like to have considered for proceeds to go to?

Thanks,
T~

Jennifer W | 2175 comments I'm still interested. I'd be willing to submit 2 or 3 recipes. I do not know where we should submit the proceeds.

Glad you and the little chick are doing well!

message 4: by AngieA (new)

AngieA Allen (angelwings55) I am interested, too. I can probably come up with at least one or two recipes for each category. Were you thinking of having categories? I would buy several and give them as gifts. I love group cookbooks and always add them to my collection, especially when I know the contributors!

message 5: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca I would love to buy and submit,

message 6: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I would be interested in submitting. Probably buying (cost being the main factor). No particular charity, but I think it would be nice to donate to a literacy charity...especially if you can find one that promotes women's literacy!

Keep me updated!

message 7: by Debbie (new)

Debbie | 415 comments I would contribute recipes - 1 or 2 in most catagories and would definitely buy 1 or 2 cookbooks (as Lori said, cost being the factor). But I would definetely buy 1.

Lori - I think that's a good idea to donate to a literacy program!

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Lori, that's a great idea for the charity!

I have a few recipes right off the top of my head - If you need a specific # of them from each of us, I can probably come up with more easily if I don't already have enough. Only category I can't contribute to is desserts! (Love 'em, just don't usually make them!) And I know I could buy a couple at least.

message 9: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda (eyeinspire) Sounds like fun! Count me in for both submitting and purchasing. :)

message 10: by SarahSaysRead (new)

SarahSaysRead I could submit maybe 2 or 3. And I've love to purchase as well.

Lori, great idea for a charity!

message 11: by Holli (last edited May 13, 2010 09:58AM) (new)

Holli I'm still interested Tera. I would like to buy the book and submit recipes (do they have to be original recipes or just our tried and true faves?)

Personally I give to these three foundations already: www.RAINN.org, www.sistertosister.org, and www.womensheart.org (this one is close to home for me so i support it).

message 12: by Julie (new)

Julie (julmille) | 391 comments I think it's a great idea. I would like to buy and contribute recipes. I feel that since we are a women/literacy group, we should focus our efforts on contributing to a charity that may aim at both aspects.

message 13: by Marsha (new)

Marsha (earthmarsha) | 1586 comments 1) Yes!
2) Yes!
3) I've got a number of recipes I'd love to contribute. Jo, don't worry about desserts, that's my favorite thing to make.
4) I have no particular charity in mind; whatever the group picks is fine with me.

message 14: by Nancy (new)

Nancy Yes to all! Count me in. Anything we can do to help so this isn't a big burden on you Tera with Miss Coco keeping you busy?

message 15: by AngieA (new)

AngieA Allen (angelwings55) Yes, Tera, please let us know what we can do to help; type, organize, test? :)

message 16: by Angela Sunshine (new)

Angela Sunshine (angelasunshine) I'd like to participate! I'd be glad to contribute a couple of "go-to" recipes and buy a copy as well.

To follow up on AngieA's comment, maybe if everyone agreed on a certain font and type size, it'd be an easier task to compile. Or there's bound to be a template online that we can all find and follow!

Yes, I think the recipes might need to be tested - I will offer my services LOL!!

message 18: by Judith (new)

Judith (jaydit) I can definitely add recipes...also titles of cookbooks suitable for families and "Kids in the Kitchen" situations. Charity? BETTER WORLD BOOKS promotes Literacy worldwide ( a percentage of every dollar spent goes to Literacy Programs throughout the world). Sorry if I seem vague, but I joined this group just recently..and this l'il discussion grabbed me by the eye!

Nancy There are any number of companies you can contract with who compile cookbooks as fundraisers. Some even have on-line submissions. Most don't worry about your formating and fonting - they take care of that. I am guessing the issues could be more about who's going to take shipment and then mail orders - that could be a big job!

Kristie (spedkristie) | 385 comments Yes I am interested
Yes I would buy
Yes I would submit (I only have one recipe worthy of contributing)

message 22: by Erika (new)

yes, First Books was the one I was trying to think of, too. I think my local NPR station used it as a fundraising incentive. They donated quite a few books based on pledges to the station.

message 24: by Mary (new)

Mary (madamefifi) | 202 comments Yes, yes, and yes.

As far as charities go, I'm in favor of anything women-, literacy-, or animal-related.

message 25: by Angela (new)

Angela Holland (bookaunt) Yes I would be willing to buy and contribute. I would do at least three recipies.
