message 1001: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments TPBM likes TCBY.

message 1002: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments There’s (or used to be) a chain called This Can’t Be Yogurt. They called it TCBY for short.

message 1003: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oh my gosh, my brothers are driving me a little crazy right now.

TPBM is totally disappointed with their SAT scores.

message 1004: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Nope. I didn't take the SAT. But I'm disappointed with my ACT score XP

I thought TCBY stood for The Country's Best Yogurt....

TPBM is watching Mythbusters right now.

message 1005: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I made a 28 on the ACT. I can’t remember what I made on the SAT, but it was just as dismal.

message 1006: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Question. What's a bad SAT score?

message 1007: by M (last edited Oct 25, 2012 03:21PM) (new)

M | 11617 comments According to what I just Googled, the average overall score on the SAT in 2012 was about 1500. An average score on the ACT is about 21.

message 1008: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments This seemed an interesting equivalence to me. A score of 32 on the ACT would put you in the 97th percentile. If that score reflected only your IQ, you would have an IQ of 130.

message 1009: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Huh....

message 1010: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Well, I'm a little above average....

message 1011: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Alex (Al) wrote: "Nope.

TPBM wants some apple pie."

I ALWAYS want apple pie.

TPBM agrees strongly with Kat's decision to watch Mythbusters, one of my personal favorite shows.

message 1012: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope. Once my head touches the pillow, I'm remming like a madman.

TPBM doesn't know what ACT stands for or what's its purpose.

message 1013: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Nope. It stands for American College Test, and it's the West Coast version of the SAT.

TPBM is trying to figure out what his/her friend should get for his/her professor :D

message 1014: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Hi, Kat. Every time I see it, I've wanted to say that I love your descriptor 'A Hypothetical Synesthete'.

Nope; although I have the challenge of getting something appropriate for the clerks who do the grunt paper work in our office.

TPBM thinks that the show 'Elementary' is a rather lame take off of the Sherlock Holmes' franchise.

message 1015: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Thanks :D

XD

YES! OMG yes. So agree with that. This is the first episode I've seen, and frankly, it's stupid.

TPBM is chatting with a friend :D

message 1016: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Nope, listening to the interesting radio show 'The Signal' on CBC Radio 2. Lots of independent world music, with an emphasis on Canadian.

TPBM has a book that needs reading, but it isn't catching his/her attention they way s/he thought it would.

message 1017: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Well, only in that the dream interpretation I am doing is taking longer than I would have liked, but the dream is so fascinating that it is worth taking the time to wade through the Jungian books and etymologies to get to the root of it.

TPBM was bemused to see in the show 'Elementary' that it expressed the philosophical notion that with increasing awareness comes increasing loneliness.

message 1018: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Well, now I do.

TPBM just bought two new albums by two of their favorite artists, and is in a little bubble of happiness.

message 1019: by Guy (last edited Oct 27, 2012 04:23PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, but I have two on my list to buy. The new one by David Byrne and St. Vincent, Love This Giant, with the song Who. And Zoë Keating's Into the Trees.

TPBM finds music a necessary accompaniment to writing.

message 1020: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments YES. My writing would not be half of what it is now without music. I have individual playlists on my computer set up with music of different moods, categorized for my writing needs.

TPBM really needs to clean their desk, but probably will not.

message 1021: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Sigh! Yes, but it has been worse than it is today.

TPBM has just found a book that they thought that they'd lost.

message 1022: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Mm, no, but finding lost books is always a pleasant experience.

TPBM just visited the library for nonfiction books her teacher is requiring. The library is a wonderful place. (sigh)

message 1023: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments The library is a wonderful place. But, alas, I'm have been stuck with staying at home and relying on my own.

TPBM is having ice cream for desert, tonight.

message 1024: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Yes!!! Guy, you didn't mention you were a telepath. XD

TPBM is marveling over Guy's mind-reading skills, and how extremely accurate they must be if they can reach all the way to California.

message 1025: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Okay, since I am wrong about these things 99.9999% of the time, that makes me the least accurate mind-reader in the history of mind readers. LoL!

So, no, quite frankly, I am not marvelling at all.

TPBM woud rather have a pedi than a mani.

message 1026: by Guy (last edited Oct 28, 2012 09:23PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Sipping tea. Resisting the urge to stick some nice chocolate into my mouth.

TPBM has an internal writing deadline that is being missed.

message 1027: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, so does Guy!
I'm shutting down for the night. Good luck with Stats and shaking off that cold.

TPBM will have a deep and peaceful sleep, and will have dreamt of double chocolate chip cookies and a rich Americano to stip it down.

message 1028: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Deep sleep, check. chocolate, check. Americano... maybe. Mission accomplished.

TPBM loves Mondays.

message 1029: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes! I love Mondays. I hate weekends, dread them in advance.

TPBM wouldn’t mind a few dark-chocolate-covered espresso beans about now.

message 1030: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Actually, that is true. And I have some on hand!

TPBM had an egg salad sandwich and soup for lunch.

message 1031: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Nooooo . . . it’s a day closer to the end of the week.

TPBM likes taking long, steamy showers that fog up the windows.

message 1032: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Yes! Or a nice hot bath.....ahhhhhh

TPBM is dressing up for Halloween.

message 1033: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Hehe. Nope, will turn up as myself :)

TPBM is fond of Formula One Racing.

message 1034: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Am curious, Alex. What did it remind you of?

message 1035: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Me.

message 1036: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Hi, Hanzle! So you like Formula One Racing? Any favorites?

message 1037: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments No, Ajay. Lol. I don't know what Formula One Racing is. I was just answering for Alex. Lol. I'm being kind of silly today. :)

message 1038: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments :)

message 1039: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Lol. Well, it's a Grand Prix event for car racing, held across several tracks around the world. It drives me crazy! One of my favorite things ever!

message 1040: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Formula One is the real race cars!

message 1041: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments I agree with M! Its the real thing! God, how I wish to drive one of those cars someday. Wouldn't mind trading everything else for that.

message 1042: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Frank Putnam? Is that his full name? I remember reading the name 'Putnam' in the popcorn thread. I get it now.

Btw, how is Frank thesedays? He's kind of quiet of late.

message 1043: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Gosh, how fast do you type Alex! I feel like a snail now.

message 1044: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Does Frank have rabies?

message 1045: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Is he foaming at the mouth?

message 1046: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments I'm not gonna get that close to check.

message 1047: by Ajay (new)

Ajay (ajay_n) | 1138 comments Lol. Your popcorns are kind of addictive!

message 1048: by M (last edited Oct 30, 2012 03:19AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments I remember when Dad got bit by the squirrel Mom used to feed. Dad had to go to the Health Department to find out if he had hydrophobia.

message 1049: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Yes, of course, Frank. I'm a perfect angel. Just don't mess with my sister. I mean that in more ways than one. Frankfurter...

message 1050: by Hanzleberry (new)

Hanzleberry (doughboyissweet) | 1065 comments Dirt? DIRT?! Lol.
