message 901: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Yeah, that sounds about right.

"The Avengers" is why both movies and comic books exist. It's a pagan myth wrapped up in Christian philosophy deliver with a wild ride of fantastic action scenes and laugh-out-loud one liners.

TPBM thinks that explanation was over the top.

message 902: by Stephanie (last edited May 10, 2012 07:17PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Not really. I'm ready for tomorrow. Although, I have a bunch of stuff to do before Saturday night.

Lol. Yeah. I barely understood that one, Edward. Although, the whole theater (it wasn't that full) burst into laughter a couple of times (my family included). And the action scenes were amazing! Any movie with Hulk in it is a big screen movie.

TPBM thinks that one of the best parts of the movie was when Thor and Hulk fight. Oh yeah, baby! That was so stinkin' cool!

message 903: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments That was pretty cool, but the absolute best part of the movie was when Loki gets angry with the Hulk.

"What do you think you're doing, you stupid beast? I am a god! You cannot stand -"

*Hulk smash*

*Loki lies on the ground, utterly stunned*

The theater I was in was rolling with that one.

TPBM ... just broke their pen.

message 904: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nope. No pens are breaking over here. LOL! Yes! That was amazing! One of my favorite parts.

TPBM hates it when people look over their shoulder while they're at the computer.

message 905: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Yeah, but people quickly learned that with me and stopped doing it.

I like how that a good chunk of the movie was devoted to having the human Avengers show up Loki.

Captain America: Stops him from what should've been the simple murder of an old man.

Black Widow: Tricks him into revealing his plan.

Iron Man: Flat out tells him why he is going to lose even if his plan succeeds (while offering him a drink). "If we can't save the Earth, we can damn well avenge it."

Hawkeye: Fires an arrow intended for Loki's eye. Loki smugly catches it out of the air. The arrow explodes.

Hulk: Smash.

TPBM sets their morning alarm to play a CD.

message 906: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Ah. Man! I wish I could! That sounds like the coolest alarm ever!

Yes. I totally agree. I loved that they did that. Black Widow was amazing and Stark was just funny.

I was a little disappointed that Loki caught the arrow but then it exploded so I was like oh yeah! Go Hawkeye! And Hulk was plain awesome.

TPBM has to wake up at 5:50 tomorrow and should go to sleep.

message 907: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments It's a seventeen-year-old boom box.

Well, I should wake up a 0600 and go to sleep. Hmm ...

TPBM wishes they could visit Middle Earth.

message 908: by Stephanie (last edited May 10, 2012 07:49PM) (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oh man. That would be so cool!

TPBM needs to read The Brotherband Chronicles by John Flanagan. I have yet to read the second book in the series.

'Night!

message 909: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Yes, I definitely need to. My brother just bought the first book yesterday, and he tells me it's really good.

TPBM might need to read the Ranger's Apprentice series first, though.

message 910: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments Yeah, maybe. I made fun of those sort of books in one of my stories, noting that they were unusually thick in content and unusually thin in meaning. Since then I've read the The Hunger Games and The Lightning Thief, which have done nothing ti disuade me from that concept.

TPBM reads The Dresden Files.

message 911: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Nope.

TPBM has never even heard of The Dresden Files.

message 912: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yup. Never heard of them.

TPBM loves the Ranger's Apprentice series. They're nothing like The Lightning Thief or The Hunger Games.

message 913: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Hm... I've barely even started book one, so I can't call the shots on that question.

TPBM reads too many books at once.

message 914: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes! I do. Ad it takes me forever to finish them all too.

TPBM keeps hearing car doors.

message 915: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments No. Not a single car door all day.

TPBM has been so distracted lately, they did not even know today was Mother's Day until this morning, and is now running around trying to throw something together to give their mom.

message 916: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Nope. I remembered. Mwahahahaha

TPBM is a little bored and should probably sleep.

message 917: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments No.

TPBM cannot imagine going to bed right now.

message 918: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oh, I could. Haha

TPBM has cold toes.

message 919: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Kind of.

TPBM is enjoying the quiet.

message 920: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes!

TPBM is starting to get a headache.

message 921: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments I don't drink mochas.

TPBM is so tired.

message 922: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments No... surprisingly. I'm almost always tired, but not today!!! It feels rather nice.

TPBM may be fully awake, but is still wearing jammies.

message 923: by M (last edited May 13, 2012 03:29PM) (new)

M | 11617 comments No. It’s daytime here. Before long, though, I’ll be ready to change into a pair of starched-and-ironed, pleated jammies--pin-striped, of course.

Oh, I forgot to add the TPBM, who is, uhm, well, wondering why he or she isn’t doing something else.

message 924: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments A little bit. I have a letter to write, but instead I just designed an entire video game in one afternoon.

TPBM plays chess.

message 925: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I won’t ask the obvious question.

TPBM doesn’t sleep well when it’s hot.

message 926: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Yes.

TPBM has a stomach ache.

message 927: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Not if I’m on the W.S.S. That’s a big part of why the yard needs to be mowed so badly.

TPBM want to writes something really dark.

message 928: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Not really.

TPBM has no idea what to write for this week's contest.

message 929: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I don’t have an idea for the topic Edward posted, but I have an idea for the next best thing.

message 930: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Now I'm confuzzled.

message 931: by Edward (new)

Edward (edwardtheresejr) | 2434 comments I thought "Next Best Thing" would create a lot of different stories. Ah, well.

So what's the next big thing, M?

message 932: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Stephanie, I owe you an apology. My reply was what a friend of mine used to call “firing for effect.” When you can’t come up with anything of substance to say, you just pop off, say something dry.

This will sound strange to say, but the way I write my stories doesn’t lend itself to tailoring them to topics. On the other hand, having a topic sometimes gets me started where I wouldn’t have otherwise. If things work out right, I’ll come up with something.

message 933: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (chasmofbooks) | 2875 comments Oh, okay. That's interesting....

message 934: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Stephanie wrote: "Not really.

Yes

TPBM is watching TV?

message 935: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments No, but I will be later, once the time is upon me.

TPBM just finished eating a meal that had chicken as its main protein.

message 936: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Nope, beef

TPBM wants hot apple cider?

message 937: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Yes.....there is just something about them.

TPBm has a twin they can't find?

message 938: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Actually, pumpkin cheese cake!

TPBM is eating ice cream for desert.

message 939: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) sadly no, homemade peanut better cups.

TPBM Was drunk last night?

message 940: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Happily no.

TPBM prefers to drink wine rather than hard spirits.

message 941: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) No

TPBM likes Ruby Tuesday

message 942: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, but not as much as Satisfaction.

TPBM likes 'Gotta serve somebody'.

message 943: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Is that a motto? If it is a motto then yes.

TPBM has 11 toes?

message 944: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments It's not a motto and would be a horrible one. It is a truth. But specifically, it is a song. Here's an interesting cover of the Dylan classic: Gotta Sever Somebody.

No.

TPBM hasn't listened to many songs by Bob Dylan.

message 945: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) Hahaha sorry Guy, O totally read that as "Got to "Serve" somebody". Still unfarmilliar with Bob Dylan cause I think he is annoying.

Um..not really. Got a mad little bro but in a good way.

TPBM is wearing a sweater?

message 946: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments For about 75% of my waking life, but not right now.

I'm not a big Dylan fan, either, because he is frequently annoying. However, there are a few of his songs that will quite likely be alive until the planet doesn't exist.

TPBM thinks that Halle Berry is one of the most beautiful woman alive on the planet today. Oh! Right, sorry, that's me.

TPBM thinks that Arnold Schwarzennegger's biography is likely to be a snore.

message 947: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) I don't know, it might be worth listening to if it was read by the author :D That would be funny as hell.

TPBM drank a gallon of milk in a day at one point?

message 948: by Guy (last edited Oct 21, 2012 08:47PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Yes, that would be, and his courtiers all nodding as if being given benediction from a high priest of self-centred success.

Well, if you'd written a litre of milk, that would be true. Although I am much more careful about my dairy intake, limiting it to Italian Gelato, goats milk and the odd daub of whipped cream.

TPBM finds eating homemade chocolate chip cookies with milk to be just a hair's breadth away from Heaven on earth.

message 949: by Kyra (new)

Kyra (Nikara) | 1221 comments Hm, I can never sleep. No migraines right now, though.

TPBM is being a bad girl and procrastinating her memorization of The Raven, which is due in two weeks.

message 950: by Christa VG (new)

Christa VG (christa-ronpaul2012) LOL, no.

TPBM is watching depressing movies?
