M | 11617 comments Yes! Martinis with many olives.

TPBM indulges in an occasional caramel macchiato.

message 8502: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Yes! One day I should get back to that also with cooking.

TPBM hopes to find an amazing book to read this year!

message 8503: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments For me, the amazing books are there. What isn’t there is the time or focus necessary to do them justice.

TPBM loves French fries and hash browns.

message 8504: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Are you kidding me? I love French fries and hash browns! The saltier and greasier, the better! Mmm-mmm-mmm!

TPBM likes to go for long-distance walks with music in their ears.

message 8505: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes, but only because I can’t remember where I put the one I bought in 1999.

TPBM could get used to eating Godiva dark chocolate truffles.

message 8506: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Mmmmmmmmm, chocolate...(drools like Homer Simpson)...

TPBM still builds Lego sets even as an adult.

message 8507: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No, but I still have a fascination with the Jupiter II, from the 1960’s TV show Lost in Space.

TPBM is old enough to remember Vampirella.

message 8508: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments You could type faster than anybody else I’ve known! I was always amazed by the astonishing speed of it. My typing has gotten so slow, I might as well be inscribing the characters into clay tablets.

TPBM is ready for a breakfast pastry and more coffee.

message 8509: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes, but not one anybody has heard in the last half century: “The House Is Haunted (By the Echo of Your Last Good-bye).”

TPBM has errands to run but would rather stay home and work on a story.

message 8510: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments Only if they're skinless! Love the spice, love the meat, hate the skin!

TPBM enjoys jigsaw puzzles.

message 8511: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments I had no idea stick forts had skin and spice on them, Anne. Hehe! I'm just teasing you!

No, I'm not a fan of jigsaw puzzles, because all the pieces look the same and therefore, it's hard to put together.

TPBM enjoys drawing their own story characters.

message 8512: by Anne (last edited Jan 08, 2021 06:45PM) (new)

Whoa! BIG OOPS! Where did that come from? I must have gotten on the wrong page/ date/something! I was responding to to the one about BBQ chicken wings.
Sorry :)

BTW -- I've never built a stick fort in my life, but it sounds like a lot of fun!

message 8513: by Anne (last edited Jan 08, 2021 06:48PM) (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments ... re: story character drawings...
No, I never have and I really envy you that you can do that. I'd give anything to be able to draw anything.

TPBM likes to listen to music when writing Goodreads stories.

message 8514: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments The only music I can listen to while writing is wordless new age songs. Anything with lyrics in it (especially hip-hop) is too distracting for me. My current go-tos for new age music are Billy McLaughlin (no relation to Sarah) and Bruce BecVar.

TPBM has read The Hunger Games series and enjoyed it.

message 8515: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I read stuff that’s boring. (Somebody has to.)

TPBM is ready for fried eggs, sausage links, and buttered toast.

message 8516: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments No. He’s on the other side of the world, drinking a bourbon at midnight at end of shift.

TPBM is a cat-lover.

message 8517: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Absolutely! I've got three cats of my own: Tori, Cali, and Piper, all of them domestic shorthairs and all of them as sweet as can be! ^_^

TPBM is a dog-lover.

message 8518: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Anne wrote: “I’d give anything to be able to draw anything.”

Several times over the years I’ve yearned to be able to draw, and have made up my mind to do what it takes to get good at drawing. I’ve never gotten much beyond looking at books on drawing, though. It’s a mystery about myself I’ve never solved.

Garrison wrote: “TPBM is a dog-lover.”

I’m not a person who enjoys pets. I’ve had a couple of cats, but that was years ago. Mom once had a poodle. Does that count? He was a happy dog, till he ran out in the highway and got hit by a car.

TPBM can imagine things vividly.

message 8519: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Rest in peace, M's poodle. :(

Having a vivid imagination is paramount to being an author, especially one in the speculative fiction genre. The short answer for me is yes.

TPBM has seen the BBC detective series Chandler & Co.

message 8520: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments Sorry no, but I've enjoyed some of the ones on PBS (not sure which, if any, are from the BBC).

TPBM enjoys the snow!

message 8521: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I probably would if I ever got past canned soup and cold cuts.

When it comes to stories, TPBM prefers horror to romance.

message 8522: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Genre doesn't matter to me, so either one is fine. Although, combining genres together can be even more creative. in the case of horror and romance, it could be a femme fatale relationship with a demonic temptress. Ooooo! Good stuff!

TPBM enjoys eating pistachios.

message 8523: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments I love eating pistachios, pistachio pudding, pistachio ice cream and anything else with pistachios in it.

TPBM has met at least one celebrity in their life.

message 8524: by Garrison (last edited Jan 25, 2021 06:01PM) (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments For me, that celebrity was Jason Mewes a.k.a. Jay from Kevin Smith's movies. He was doing standup comedy in Tacoma and he stopped the show to acknowledge me after I laughed like a hyena at his jokes. I met him after the show and he was a cool guy.

TPBM loves taking pictures of their pets and showing them off online.

message 8525: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Nope, I don’t share much online.

TPBM has a rather large skeleton in the closet

message 8526: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I’ve considered ordering one, though, just to be able to say I have one.

TPBM thinks it would be cool to own a vintage anatomical skeleton.

message 8527: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Nah, I’ve never really had any bones to pick with them.

TPBM uses a typewriter to write whenever possible.

message 8528: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Not since I’ve had a PC at my disposal. Until I was about thirty, though, I wrote nearly everything by hand or on a typewriter. I still type checks and envelopes and an occasional note, on a Royal made about 1952.

TPBM would have liked writing episodes for The Twilight Zone or Night Gallery.

message 8529: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments That would have been awesome!

TPBM likes quiet moments versus being around a loud television.

message 8530: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments I love my quiet time-- even my TV sometimes goes to mute as I'd often rather read the captions than listen.

TPBM enjoys singing along with favorite songs.

message 8531: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. I set out pastries, though, about 6 a.m.

TPBM likes the smell of a sharpened pencil.

message 8532: by Anne (last edited Jan 31, 2021 08:00AM) (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments Sorry, never heard of them -- are they like Krispy Kremes? (I do miss those)

TPBM has not left their home in over 24 hours, (i.e. to actually go somewhere, besides shoveling snow :) )

message 8533: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Saturday afternoon I ate at a deli, then did grocery shopping.

TPBM has an idea for a story for this week but isn’t making much progress on it.

message 8534: by Anne (last edited Jan 31, 2021 11:09AM) (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments I'm actually about 75% finished with something, but am unsure if I actually want to post it as it's really turned into something weird. (i.e. weirder than usual for me:) )
Of course, if I work at my usual pace, i'll be in for several days of edits...

TPBM enjoys watching X Games on Sunday afternoons.

message 8535: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes! The two or three days of it we had in January was all I could deal with.

TPBM is ready for an enchilada dinner, with chips, salsa, and a margarita while the order is being prepared.

message 8536: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments To be honest, I'm still stuffed from eating pizza, wings, and brownies last night. I think I'll take it easy today as far as food goes.

TPBM doesn't like toilet humor.

message 8537: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Only if it's done too obviously or in an uncreative way. Wait, excuse me, (Coughs loudly). Yeah, I coughed. I was not covering up any other noises just so you know...! ahem

TPBM sometimes can not get stuff off their mind until they are writing about it.

message 8538: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments Oh so very true! Only I hate when it happens at 2am!

TPBM has tried (or thought about trying) one new hobby this past year.

message 8539: by C. J., Cool yet firm like ice (new)

C. J. Scurria (goodreadscomcj_scurria) | 4485 comments Anne wrote: "Oh so very true! Only I hate when it happens at 2am!

It would be a great idea.

And I know what you mean Anne. I had that problem last night! About a moment after on here I ended up not doing anything and then went on Youtube and then to bed lol.

TPBM thinks there is no such thing as a wholesome "family" sitcom anymore.

message 8540: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments I don't watch a whole lot of TV these days outside of BoJack Horseman and any movie I want to download from Amazon. I wouldn't know how the sitcom climate is today.

TPBM is currently struggling with mental exhaustion.

message 8541: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments No. When I’m tired, it’s usually from things that take a toll physically or emotionally. Whatever horrible things it may say about me, I tend to avoid mental exertion.

TPBM would like to drive a DeLorean.

message 8542: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments I don't have a driver's license, so I should probably be the last person to get behind the wheel of one of those. There's nothing quite as scary as flying through the windshield and into the prehistoric age. Hehe!

TPBM enjoys listening to Pink Floyd.

message 8543: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I don’t know. For me, a day without odd occurrences would seem strange. Yesterday was nice, uneventful. So I suppose it was strange.

TPBM has an avatar in Second Life.

message 8544: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments No more into technology than I absolutely have to be.

TPBM has something special planned for Valentines Day.

message 8545: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes. I’m going to help my wife leave town.

TPBM enjoys editing photos.

message 8546: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments It's one of my favorite artistic hobbies, alongside drawing and writing, of course. I've got a whole gallery of Photoshopped pictures on my Deviant Art account and in my Face Book albums.

TPBM enjoys listening to The Moody Blues.

message 8547: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments Thankfully, I kept my power throughout this snowstorm. I did however find a rat in my garage who probably sneaked inside to get away from the cold. Or to get away from an orange street cat who was also seen prowling in my garage. Man...

TPBM has been to Canada at least once in their life.

message 8548: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments In my case, that book is "The Ever-Burning Light" by K.L. Cottrell, which I plan on giving five stars once it's over. I'm only a quarter of the way through it, though, so it'll be a while before I write that review.

TPBM enjoyed watching the movie Menace 2 Society.

message 8549: by Anne (new)

Anne (annefrn) | 916 comments Sorry, never heard of it.

TPBM likes to read series books in sequence. (i.e. those books with the same characters that evolve throughout the series)

message 8550: by Garrison (new)

Garrison Kelly (cybador) | 10163 comments That's what I'm currently doing with the Light Force trilogy by K.L. Cottrell. I saved the third book for last and that's what I'm reading now. Due to my constant mental exhaustion, it's a long time in between reading sessions, but I'll finish it...one day...in the distant future...

TPBM jokingly refers to the fast food restaurant Jack in the Box as "Jack in the Crack" and doesn't know why.
