The sun beat down upon me
And my legs
Oh how they burned
Oxygen filled and left my lungs
Sweat poured
and my neck
Oh how red it was
The last few feet
In sight at last
A rock lay there
Smiling evilly
That fateful moment
The moment I swore
I swore to never run again
Minscule rocks embedded in my knees
My hand's
Scarred forever
And the finish line?
Never did it come closer

As for Stephanie: WOW! Great job! I agree with Al. XD

Anyways, it's the first Summer section for Listen When the Wind Whispers.
Enjoy!
Summer Vacation I
A sound more pleasing,
I have not heard,
Than that of music made,
Upon the earth.
A heartbeat,
Hollow as a woodwind,
Though percussion is played,
Run.
FIN

the sun
burning time ever faster
runs his course
driving us forward
at breakneck speed
until
we
fall
the day comes
that there is no day
the sun’s burning
burns itself out
and time
stops
for a moment minute hour day
all motion ceases
as every face turns upward
glowing in the last of the light
in the golden stillness of the evening light
and time falters, stumbles, fails
as the world stands frozen
and then the warmth is gone

On this road,
I am free,
never am I tired,
I only feel victory.
On this road,
the birds can sing,
the grass can whistle,
the bells all ring.
On this road,
there is never,
a dull moment,
this should last forever.
On this road,
I laugh aloud,
I am the fastest,
for that, I am proud.
