Did you know that they are revamping this series to reflect current times? Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield
now have cell phones and Internet and are apparently on the path to becoming anorexic because their previous perfect size 6 has been reduced to a perfect size 4!! I also think movie deal negotiations are in progress- http://www.filmjunk.com/2009/09/23/di...

I know, really!!! Like today's teen female population needs any further poor influence to their "others will only accept you if you're insanely, perfectly skinny" mentality!!
Oh....I loved SVH! I think I read almost every single one. Does anyone remember the Saga novel that was about the previous 5 generations before Liz & Jess? I remember it being so good.As for the series getting revamped....it kind of sucks bc these books are like classics that shouldn't be changed. Just like many of the 80s movies that have been remade lately. It just takes away so much from what made these stories so special.
No, I don't think I ever read the Saga novel, but if had done so at the time, I'm sure I would've also loved it!
The Saga novels are the first historical romances that I ever read. The Wakefield Legacy The Wakefields of Sweet Valley These were so good back then. I think better than the stories of Jessica & Elizabeth.
Then I know I would've loved those books! I was a huge historical romance fan, having read the YA Sunfire and Swept Away series and so many others!! Then as I got older, it progressed to adult authors such as Kathleen Woodiwiss, Victoria Holt/Phillipa Carr, Johanna Lindsey, Catherine Coulter, Elizabeth Lowell, etc. I still read an occasional historical romance now and again, but not as adamantly as I used to!
I loved this series. The saga books were some of my favorites. Did you hear about Sweet Valley Confidential? It is set 10 years after highschool. The first chapter is available to read and some how Bruce Patman is now Elizabeth's best friend. I interviewed Francine Pascal here. http://debbiesworldofbooks.com/2010/0...
Hi, Debbie!
That was very cool!!! Thank you so much for sending me this link to your interview (I signed up for a T-shirt too, very cute!!)!! I will definitely read this book when it comes out!!
I see that you volunteer to do reviews. I had a Goodreads member contact me to do a review of his YA science-fiction/fantasy book, but it's only available through Kindle, which I don't own, or through the computer, which I can't sit through to read because I have a herniated disc in my neck and can't be on the computer for longer than 15 minutes! Would you be possibly be interested in helping him? If so, please let me know and I'll direct him to your website so that he can contact you!
Thanks again!

Hi Sheri,Glad to post about it since I loved SVH.
For the review. What book is it? I'd like to read the book blurb first. Thanks!
Thanks, Debbie! I'll be on the look out for SV Confidential. That's so exciting and I can't wait. Great interview too.

The Adventurion, which is a short story, by Michael Robb. This is a pen name, his real name is M.R. Mathias if you want to look him up here on Goodreads.

In looking at the cliquey pizza website (posted it under the "General" thread!), I also found, and now remember, the Caitlin Series written by Francine Pascal! I think I only read the Love and Promise Trilogies, but there was also the Forever Trilogy. Did anyone else read these?
Leah, well said. I was curious about it so that's why I borrowed it from the library shortly after it came out. The waiting list was quite long and the wait wasn't worth it. It was mildly amusing to read about what happened to everyone but as far as Jessica and Elizabeth's story lines were concerned, it was pretty much a hot mess.
The little blurbs at the end of the book about the characters who didn't feature were hilarious. Surfer Bill Chase lost a leg when he was attacked by a shark!
