He was one of the four legendary Phillies pitchers along with Grover Cleveland Alexander, Jim Bunning and Steve Carlton.

out of 600 starts he had 305 complete games. incredible. no one. no one, even comes close to that. in the past 25 yrs the phillies have only had 300 complete games pitched
That is incredible. He had 8 years with 20 or more complete games.
He led the league in complete games 5 times.
He won 20 or more games 6 times.
Four times he led the league in wins.
And we should not forget that except for one year he pitched for one of the worst teams in baseball.
Ok, for a second there I thought you meant the newscaster "Robin Roberts". But this is sad, too. That complete game stat is insane.
