I don't know if it's my translation, but my book has several parts. I'm assuming "chapters 31-36" will be Part I, chapters 31-34 and Part II, chapters 1-2??? Is this the same with everyone's copy or is it just mine?
Alexy is so cold and distant to Anna. No wonder that a man who shows interest in her is tempting. (Not that it excuses any actions, but the temptation is there.) And I dislike the doctor that came to see Kitty -- so "superior" to everyone. That being said, I get wrapped up in Tolstoy's descriptions. It is an easy book to read in these short bits.
I'm with you, Lynn. I really enjoyed these six chapters. The doctor is so smug he's ridiculous - and Kitty's father knows the guy's an idiot.Vronsky's conscience seemed to bother him - but only for a few seconds - when he reflected on seeing Anna and her husband together.

Discussion for chapters Part 1 31-34, Part 2 Ch 1 & 2.
