I think that all my friends IRL read Oprah books and modern day literature. I always feel a little sheepish and far less cerebral when we talk books. One might be reading "Olive Kitteridge" and I pull out "Faefever" or "Twice Bitten". I love their reaction!

Richelle Mead's Dark Swan series and Succubus Series.

wow. 5 books! let me knoe how TVD is b/c ive been holding off for a reason, i dont like the series that much. it's kinda how the mercedes thompson series was for u. ill probally only read it if i have nothing else to read.

Just started

Then plan on starting

I ordered the first eight of the Sookie Stackhouse series. I've read the first two. I'm liking the series. At first, I didn't know if I would, but Sookie grows on you!

I'm not sure why I put off reading this book for so long- it has everything I love in a PR/UF book: a strong female protagonist, a sexy alpha-male who's not always nice (think Bones), the "friends/warriors" who each have a strong personality (more seen in book 2), an exciting & somewhat unique plot AND steamy scenes to boot. Try it!

I can't put it down- so good!"
Wait until you read Archangle's Kiss!!!!!"
Got it on Kindle the second I finished the first- lol!

Did you read the second one yet? What did you think?
havent read the second one yet, but im dying to read it. i reserved it at the library, hopefully ill get it in a couple of days.
I think Jace is the main reason I love it so much but the twists and turns in the story kept me riveted. I'm so excited to finish the book to see what happens but I'm going to miss Clary, Jace, Simon, Alec and Isabelle. :(

Ahhh....Jace. Great series!
definitely a young adult favorite. it was soooo funny too. i cant wait to read her other series, the infernAL devices, clockwork angel.

So far I've already finished:
* Fallen by Lauren Kate (I read some not so good reviews but I thought it was a decent read)
* Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison (definitely more teen geared but was a quick read)
* Frostbite (Vampire Academy, #2) - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead (really liking this series)
Trying to read
* Beautiful Creatures by Cami Garcia (this book is too long and drawn out. I feel like I've been reading it for days and I'm only halfway through. I plan on finishing it but I doubt I'll continue with the series unless something drastic changes)
Still to read
Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare (read 1st book a few months ago and the rest were always checked out. Really enjoyed the 1st so hope I like the rest.)
* City of Ashes
* City of Glass
* Clockwork Angel
Chicagoland Vampire Series by Chloe Neill (been waiting forever to get this. They had to send to another library to get it for me. Really hope I enjoy it)
* Some Girls Bite
* Friday Night Bites
Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong
* The Reckoning (book 3) - first two were ok. Still want to finish the series though.
I guess I'll have a busy couple weeks :)

So far I've already finished:
Vampire Academy is Aweseome! One of my favorites.

Does anyone have any suggestions on good fae books? After this one and Laurell K. Hamilton's Meredith Gentry series, I'm in the mood for even more fae! :)
No, I haven't. Don't think I've heard about it, I'll have to check it out! Thanks :)

I can read YA, but I mostly prefer adult. Sometimes YA succeeds though! I'll check that one out too, RoseMari. Thank you!

Also at the same time, starting a new series, making the most of my KU trial,

But....it has the flaw of starting us right in the middle of everything. I don't know...there's something about the way it all is framed and flows that makes it feel like less of an introduction and more like the catch up summary in the beginning of books in a series already in full swing. I'm getting it, at least but the referrals and emotional beats make me feel like I'm missing something, if that makes sense.
