Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) Are you familiar with a fungal infection on Camelias that causes the leaves to turn white and to look moth-eaten. It's affected the blooms so that they get brown on the edges. Any suggestions on how to take care of it.

I live in Central Texas, and I have my camelia planted in an area that gets shade about 3/4 of the day.

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) I found a site that talked about it, and it's definitely fungus. It suggested picking up dead blooms and an antifungal spray, so I guess I'll try that.

At least I know to watch out for those nasty bugs, though. Thanks, MadgeUK.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) Your local garden center/nursery or hardware store should have some organic antifungal sprays to help you with that or you can probably google it to come up with your own. That's what I did last summer when woolly aphids attacked my roses!

Here's some info which may help: http://camellia-ics.org/_ics/pest/blu...

MadgeUK What sort of fungus do you think it is?

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) You're welcome Danielle! I forgot to mention to take one of the leaves w/you or take a really good pic w/your cell phone. That helped so much when I used to work in a nursery!
