Hi, everyone. I've noticed a couple of super-long comment threads, and I enjoyed reading them very much! Thought maybe y'all might like to ask me some questions. I'll pop by and answer as often as I can.

Have you read the free short story about him on my website? It clarifies some things and adds depth, I think. And yes, I agree, he's wonderful. Quite unexpected.
Yes, we've read & loved the shorts. Vel is great. :)Here are the links to the shorts on Ann's website if anyone hasn't read them:
Renegade - March's story
Exile's Lament - Vel's story
Just wanted to stop by and share in the sentiment that Vel is fantastic!I loved the little snippets too!
Ahhh Vel, probably one of the best characters I have read in a long time. Anybody else wish that he would get his own series? Btw what does everything think about the semi romantic under currants to his and Jax's relationship? Personally I would rather it stay a very intimate friendship but I want to know what other people think.
Did you read his short story on Aguirre's website? I liked that one. I think he's totally worthy of getting his own site, but I always think the aliens should in these books, they're always so cool. Vel in particular is so noble. ;_;
I just finished it and I really like learning about Vel's background with Glenna, especially because it was hinted at in the books but never explained, I love authors who take the time to find ways to give us back story that does not always fit into the novels. The jax books are suppose to end on the 8th book so maybe we will get lucky and Vel will get a series after that. Assuming that Jax and March get their for the most part HEA. I agree that I wish authors might consider writing from the alien perspective more often rather than that of a human viewing an alien. Though not all authors have spent as much time fleshing out the culture of their aliens as Ann has with Vel.
Have you read Linnea Sinclair's Dock Five series? I'd really love to see books about the Stolorth characters. They're so cool. :3
I dont even read this genre but i cant put it down. Ive got the first 3 Jax books and Im on Wanderlust now.I think Vel's an awsome character too. Jax and March are too stinkin lovie dovie for me though (gag) must be a chick thing LOL
@quentin Actually I agree. It is a really nice difference between the jax series and the dock 5 so far. The main characters are in love but not nearly as lovely dovey. I like a good romance line in a book but not as the main thread, especially not in a series. I read romance when i need a romance fix.

LOL. Wasn't really romantic, and that wasn't what I enjoyed about the book. To tell you the truth, at the end I still thought they were too dysfunctional and unconvincing as a couple. But it was a good book!
@new_user. So the dock 5 series, i just finished the first one, really good. I am going in search of the others in the series right now even though its 12:30 at night because i NEED to know what happens.
LOL! Glad you liked it! I thought the second one dragged a little, but it gets nice and dark and twisty (did I already say that?) And the stolorths so need their own books, LOL. Tell me what you think of Del when you get to him. <3 Ren as always. I'm looking forward to Phillip's book.
i almost don't want to read the second one because i read about what happens and i like how the first one ends. I don't like the idea of a cliff hanger ending without a third novel to provide resolution.
Hm, I guess you could call the third book a cliffhanger, but I didn't really think so. I don't think the third book is about them anyways, is it?
no i meant the second book seems to end at a cliff hanger and there is not a third concerning their story, because you are correct the third book is about phillip.
Oh yeah, I gotcha. Yeah, I would have liked a little more on their relationship following that big event at the end too.
I really liked Grimspace and tried to read the two related shorts, but they no longer exist on the official author website. Does anyone have an updated link?
The "free reads" link is still on her website, but it's broken. She may have taken them down, or the page may have moved. Maybe you can contact her.
