True. But you have to remember, V hated his cursed hand, despised it actually. But isn't it interesting that the two beings he cared the most, needed him to use that hand as a blessing. I think that's pretty poetic.

Oh but don't you remember how sad he was because he couldn't touch anybody with that hand? Here is the ONLY person he can touch without any bad consequences!

Thanks Yz - that's deeper than I had been looking (again with being annoyed!) but it is pretty profound now that I think about it.

Thanks for the link, Yz -- it makes me wonder this: was there enough of an uproar about the ending of LU that she had to write The Interview to settle people like me down?

I might be wandering towards heresy with this, but I don't get stuff like The Interview and all the writing she does like the BDB are real people. (*whispers*) I think it's kinda dumb.

I'm with you, Tammy. I was thinking it was really weird while I read it. I think it would have been better for her to just do an actual interview or a statement if she wanted to address the ending of LU. I think everything she does where she writes herself into scenes with the brothers or pretends to be them during Q&As with the fans is kind of creepy.

Hi Harper! I read your comment when you first posted it, but waited an hour or so to see if lightning had struck you down, LOL! You are so right about creepy. I haven't been to her website yet for exactly that reason. I'm afraid if I do I will get so weirded out I won't be able to read any more of the books. :)

(I'm still so annoyed about the ending of V's story that I'll have wait a bit to read the next one.)

Have any of you read the Insider Guide/Companion book? I read on another thread somewhere that you are supposed to read it between books 6 and 7.

LMAO! As sacrilegious as my comment may have seemed, lightning did not spew forth from the sky and fry me where I stood (or sat, rather). I wasn’t trying to offend anyone, but I do honestly think it's strange. I used to be a member of the forums on her site, but, truth be told, I left because of some of the more zealous fans and because the whole thing with the “brothers” popping up around the site was a little weird for me.

I haven't read the Insider's Guide yet, but I want to check it out one day for the Zsadist/Bella story.

Ah, Harper, I so enjoy chatting with you! I, for one, am impossible to offend so fear not.

Have you read the review of Dark Lover on the Smart Bitches website? It is absolutely hilarious, and includes a link to a site where the reviewer creates names for everyone (always with a few extra "h"s!). It is a bit snarky, though, so that is my warning to anyone who checks it out.

I thought about getting the Guide as well if for no other reason than to have a complete set. I ain't going into the bookstore for that one, though. I'll be ordering it online, lol.

message 112: by Ez (new)

Ez (ezrah-rah) | 387 comments I enjoy chatting with you, too, Tammy. :)

I'm going to have check out that SB review for Dark Lover. I hadn't read it, but their reviews crack me up.

I think I'm going to try to order the Guide from the library once I get a card from the one by my new house. I was so pissed at the ending of LU and I didn't care much for LEn, so I had swapped my copies of those books. Now I own books 1-4 and 7-8. LOL. I'm thinking about buying them again because I don't like looking at my incomplete collection.

theandrelle | 28 comments waa!!!

there is no doubt this is one of the best book series i have ever read..i like all the characters, the personalities, the plot, the humor (GOD, especially the HUMOR!) and the violence, as well as the love scenes..they make want more..and more i shall get..hehehe...

everything is so exciting and entertaining in this book and it keeps you focused all the time..my fave book is Lover Eternaland Lover Unbound..i like how Rhage and Vishious are in the story. and how they handle things..i also like Lover Awakened and Lover Avenged..they are so so great!

by the way this series is the first one i've ever bought so that counts to why i really really love them..though i still haven't read Lover Mine but i am so totally excited and are now waiting for the book to be available soon...

the The Black Dagger Brotherhood: An Insider's Guide is also a must read because you will get to know more about the characters and some of the deleted scenes are in there..you must also read their conversations in their chat room inside the book..it is so totally HILARIOUS!

well overall, i am totally sure that the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series has my # 1 spot in my fave book list... ^^

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Having read all of them to date, I'll throw in my $.02 worth. I liked Lover Mine because for once Ward gave us a heroine who was worth something. For the most part her heroines are simpering idiots. Xhexina is a female of worth (in the vernacular).

LOL! "simering idiots", i can certainly say that about most of the heroines indeed. The saving point on the books or me are the heroes and the action.

hello..i was reading some of the comments and i would say i both agree and disagree with how J.R. Ward uses her characters...

from my point of view..i think it is rather a bit creepy that she incorporates herself and her characters to the real live world but still i think she wants it like that so that the readers can have a deeper insight on who the characters really are..though you all can't deny that they are somewhat funny when they talk to each other like they really do exist...

i haven't read the forums but i read the book with all the interviews and conversations and the most prominent thing that i discovered is how different they all are..and i do have to emphasize AGAIN how FUNNY, CRAZY and unbelievably OUTRAGEOUS the Black Dagger Brotherhood really is...

so i think the whole "brothers-talking-like-they-exist" thing have both a good side as well as a bad side in it..and as for now i am looking at the good side of it..which is..ENTERTAINMENT... ^^

Anyhooo, i don't see a problem with that. There are many people out there who enjoy that sort of interaction with characters and author. Sort of like a "behind the scenes" thing i never got into.

Looking forward to seeing your reaction to LEn, Tammy. It was the BDB book I liked least...but I haven't read "Lover Mine" or "Lover Avenged" yet.

You are so right Rossy - I'm only on page 85 and all I can think is "get OVER yourself, buddy".

And maybe I'm wrong, but is Ward setting up Blay and Qhuinn? The John Matthew and Xhex lead-in is about as subtle as a sledgehammer but the other...hmmm.

I'm liking it so far, though.

I can't believe how much I'm actually enjoying it -- still waiting for something to ruin it for me (like the last 2!) but for now, liking it a lot!

Is anyone else still reading along for the Dare?

message 133: by Rossy (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I just finished Lover Revealed, so i'm definately probably further behind in the dare than others and I haven't been checking in so as to avoid spoilers...but I loved it. Yeah, it had a bit of a different feel, more about growth as a character, but I could see how much he loved Marissa and had from the first time he saw her...definately gave it 5 stars

message 136: by Rossy (new)

Rossy (naughtybookjunkie) | 2192 comments Tammy wrote: "I don't mind her, actually. What was it you didn't like about her?"

I think it's due to personal, heroine preference. Rationally i knew her reaction to finding out the truth about him was realistic? Yet am a loyal Rehv fan, so i wanted to slap her for how she treated him then.LOL

After all the things he went through as a child and how he sacrificed himself for his family and such....i thought she didn't deserve such a male. He should have picked me instead! ^.^

Well, Butch is pretty hetero in orientation, while V had tried either way...so to speak. Still there is something between these two, that for V at this point of his life, views as something sexual.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 366 comments I love Butch and V and their books! I've read both several times. Lover Unbound might be my favorite book up to this point (I really like Jane!). Although I must say I had a serious urge to stuff the Scribe Virgin into the nearest closet. She's got some major issues going on. No questions? Really? Authoritarian, much?

message 143: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments I finished up reading Vishous and Jane's book the other day...I enjoyed it, but not as much as Zsadist/Bella and Butch/Marissa...

I could def. see how it was starting to move from PNR to UF...although happy there didn't seem to be as much about the Lesser's, although i'm sure that will change...

message 144: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments anyone still doing this?? i'm reading Lover Enshrined right now...not totally hating it, but can't say its my favorite either...I sorta like how she is handling Phury's issue...because it seems real...its not going to be fun and games, people are going to hate you...but I don't know what happens in the end yet...

just saw some interesting info on a blog about the future of the series, i'll try to find the link again and post...but she did say that Quinn and Blay were going to get their own book - likely a big novella

I have to ask. Why don't you like Phury's book? In my opinion of all the stories his had the most substance. I especially liked how she handled his addiction and didnt minimize by just all of a sudden making him clean. Now V's book I was so hurt by. Although Rhage is my favorite Brother, V is the one I wanted to know the most about. I felt like she just kinda threw something together and then what she did with Doc Jane was preposterous!
