Seth smiled. He had set up the gig. They would use their abilities to knock off a shipment of rare jewels. He would give her the money, and the jewels she would need. He had 10 gems already, but his lust for power matched that for money. But he could shake the feeling of attachment to Anya.

"Bad traffic." He joked. He pointed at a ship almost at the dock. "That's the target. A large shipment of jewels are arriving. And I have my sights set on those rubies."

"I need the docks to be set fire. I can put on the flames, but I need you to feed it. Keep them distracted while we grab the jewels."

Seth waved his clawed hand and a fire broke out on deck. "Do it fast before the ship goes." He said with a grin and was off.
Mod
Seth crawled expertly up a rope and was in the cargo hold. "I'm gonna need a bigger bag." He whispered in awe. There were so many gems here.

Seth crammed as many gems as he could. Then as he was leaving he hit trouble. "We knew this would happen." Four figures were standing at the entrance. "The jewels of power are so irresistible to elementals."

Anya could sence something was wrong...but she didnt know what!
"Sh**" Seth cursed. He waved his hand and the crates all burst into flames. He tapped into all the powers of the gems in the crate and the crushed rubies in his claws. Water doused at his flames, but thanks to the claws the fire barely held. Seth used it as a smokescreen and ran past them. "We got trouble!" He yelled tossing Anya a bag of diamonds.

Seth cursed again as a sharp dirt clod flew past his head. "Elemental guards." He growled, throwing a fireball to momentarily stop their pursuers.

Teh wind picked up, making the people following them go momentarily blind. She slipped into the saftey of the shadows.
Seth followed, retracting his claws and hiding expertly.

"That was a bit more fun than I imagined it would be." He said, handing her a thousand dollars. "But we still got power enhancements."

"One can't have too much power." He said. "I found that with a little gold mixed with the rubies my powers are enhanced more." He held up his claws.

"I am Seth." He said, doing a mock hat flourish.
"Now that that is out of the way, what do you want to do? Just head back home or see if we can swipe some more stuff?"

"That sounds fine." He said, appearing at ease, but secretly he was anticipating a back stab.

Seth was beginning to rethink his shifty attitude. I wouldn't have lived as long as I have if I wasn't suspicious. He reminded himself. He kept his guard up, and followed.

"Sure." He said, leaning back against the chair.
"Have you lived here your whole life?" He asked.
Mod
"Because you were the most diverting client I've had." He said, bracing his head with his hands. "Why do you go after sapphires?"
Mod
"I like money, with enough you could buy anything and the cops won't bug you for it." He said with a shrug himself. "Have you ever been to Hawaii?"

Seth grimaced. "Once. And that was a gigantic mess. I was supposed to kill a man and take his money, and he had some elemental help. I couldn't come even close! He only died by a stray boulder. How many have tried to swindle or kill you?"

"Once, but she was a stalker so I had to break it up." He said. "Have you been in a relationship?"
