vicki_girl | 2764 comments Sue Grafton's book A is for Alibi was getting sorted by the second word "is", due to the system putting the "A" at the end like it was an article. I was going through them to fix this. However, some of the editions are listed as A is for Alibi and others are 'A' is for Alibi.

In the sort by title box, do I include the quote marks? In the title box I am putting exactly what's on the cover. I think the sort by title should not have the quotes so it will sort with the letter A. What do y'all think?

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Definitely remove the quotes in the sort-by.

Actually, wasn't the system supposed to do that automatically? Am I remembering that correctly?

vicki_girl | 2764 comments I think it did, when it put the letter A at the end. So, I was wondering if I should put the quotes back when I move the A back...

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments That's why the A was put at the end, but I had thought that the quotes were supposed to be moved to the end (or just taken off) as well.

If you put the A back in the front of the sort-by title, it will stay unless the sort-by title is automatically regenerated, which happens when the title is edited.
