It really is Gator's turn so I am going to defer.
While we are waiting for Gator I think I'll give one to chew on.A man's fiance is kidnapped and murdered. What then ensues is a series of cat and mouse episodes of revenge and retribution.
is the movie "the vanishing"?

The boyfriend finds who the killer is takes revenge a little at a time. The killer in turn metes out his own form of retaliation.
Very violent very gory and throw in some cannibalism.
Now I've probably said to much.
This sounds like something that keeps getting suggested to me on Netflix. Hope that looking in my Netflix suggestions is not considered cheating. I haven't seen it. Is it "I Saw the Devil"?

BTW this is one rough flick. But I liked it a lot.

It almost sounds like the Blair Witch project, but the year isn't correct for that
It's very similar in that it involves backpackers lost in the woods dealing with an unexplained malevolent force. Also that both trips were investigative.(also that both movies creep me out if camping)

Hey Michael, No answer for my plot. I'll give the answer out for anyone curious , and I guess the next person (Bob?) can post a plot. The film was "Yellow Brick Road" .
I think I will goA beggar comes to a Spainish Don's castle where he is humiliated but displeases the Don and is thrown in prison. Later a servant girl resists the advances of the Don and is thrown in the cell with the beggar.

LOL, right, here's one:Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first woman she meets and then teams up with three complete strangers to kill again.
