Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments On 09 February 2000, the American military base of Yongson releases toxic chemicals in the drain to the Han River under the direct order of an arrogant coroner. Six years later, a mutant squid monster leaves the water and attacks people on the side of the river. The teenager Park Hyun-seo is carried by the creature and vanishes in the river. During the night, the girl's father receives a phone call from Hyun-seo telling that she is alive in a big sewage nearby the river.

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) | 797 comments If I am right then my plot is as follows:

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments The Machinist

Ont the desolate coast of Denmark live Martina and Philippa, the beautiful daughters of a devout clergyman who preaches salvation through self-denial. Both girls sacrifice youthful passion to faith and duty, and even many years after their father's death, they keep his austere teachings alive among the townspeople. But with the arrival of a mysterious refugee from France's civil war, life for the sisters and their tiny hamlet begins to change. Soon this woman has convinced them to try something truly outrageous: a gourmet French meal that scandalizes the town's elders.

message 116: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I thought Sharon's plot was Jacob's Ladder.

message 117: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) | 797 comments Nope, Bandit got them both right

message 118: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I suck at guessing movie plots!

When he contacts members of his former unit, they admit to the same symptoms. After contacting a lawyer, nameless G-men try to intimidate them.

message 127: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments it's an older one, Sharon, from 2001
I gotta watch more current horror

message 128: by Tressa (last edited Dec 07, 2010 08:31AM) (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Devil's Backbone and The Orphanage are two of my favorite movies. I don't watch a whole lot of current movies, which is why I suck at this game.

message 129: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Atkinson (darkened_angel) | 797 comments Is that the Mancunian candidate

message 130: by Bandit (last edited Dec 07, 2010 08:42AM) (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Manchurian Candidate (1962) is Korean War vet
Manchurian Candidate (2004) is Desert Storm vet

I'm thinking...Jacob's Ladder?

I try to watch current and recent-ish, if a movie is older than me, it's lost on me

Lori | 1318 comments Boy, I sure do wish I didn't suck at this game so badly. lol

message 140: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I bet Shawn picked some obscure movie only he and the movie people involved has seen.

message 141: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Shanks, I think...and yeah, that's pretty obscure, Shawn :)

message 142: by Phil (new)

Phil (philhappy) | 142 comments Yeh Shanks is right and yeh a bit obscure :P Only reason I've heard of it is because it was William Castle's last movie (I think). Never seen it though, is it any good Shawn?

message 143: by Michael (new)

Michael (mikedecshop) | 1479 comments I had to look that one up. It starred Marcelle Marceau.

message 144: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments It was Castle's last movie. Probably too odd to get a remake, though who knows

message 145: by Shawn (last edited Dec 07, 2010 12:30PM) (new)

Shawn | 1168 comments It's interesting. Not really horror so much as dark fantasy, but there's a decidedly morbid tone to the whole thing. It's more like a fable or fairy tale that showcases the skills of the mimes involved. It could easily be remade into something much creepier, though!

Bandit's turn...

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments A veteran high school teacher befriends a younger art teacher, who is having an affair with one of her 15-year-old students. However, her intentions with this new "friend" also go well beyond platonic friendship.
