Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 28 comments I was wondering if any of you who have an author website want to exchange links. For example, I have a links page on my website, which currently links to some various websites useful for authors. I want to add an author category for author websites to it, but, I prefer asking permission to do it. I don't want someone finding out that I linked to them without permission and get upset, you know?

So, what does everyone think and does this help our self promotion?

My Website

Julie | 54 comments I think it's an interesting idea. My current website design doesn't have a place for that, but it's not finished, and its next incarnation could.

Have you thought about WEBRINGS, Cliff? There are a lot of them around.

The advantage of joining a webring or six is that you can link by genre or common interest, so your visitors are more likely to use the links.

Most authors would be delighted to receive traffic from you, but not everyone would reciprocate unless asked.

Cliff Ball (cliffball) | 28 comments I have used webrings, I just forgot about using it. I re-designed my website when I went back to a free web provider and I didn't think about webrings. Thanks Rowena for the suggestion.

Charlie (bitsyblingbooks) Both my web/blog sites just got an upgrade! Come check it out and if you want to be a fellow friend and networked blogger, click away. I'd love to have you and to share your blog links on my sites. I always reciprocate.

A Writer's Corner: Bitsy Bling Books just got a major facelift! Site will feature excerpts from my upcoming novels, special offers, and 'The Story Behind Story,' historical people and events that inspire fiction.

also visit if when you get the time:

Rants, Writings, and Other Such Nonsense

In addition, at the top of both websites I have included: Bitsy Bling Books "Inner Circle." This a direct link to Amazon and features bookcover/price/purchase link to Goodreads authors that have joined and listed their books on the "Pay It Forward 2010" group shelf. It's easy to do, and I'd love to add more authors (this is of course free). I believe in networking and support the writing community.

Thanks,

Charlie

Pls. anyone who wants to, link me away :)! Love to have you add my sites or include me under an 'author' category if you add one. Let me know how I can be of help in return. I do have a 'networked blog' area on my site. I also believe I have you add to my bookshelf. I will double check.

I just gave both my sites a major make over. I will be adding and adjusting more this week.

Thanks,

Charlie
