Sookie Stackhouse - C. Harris

I just started listening to this series. I don't like Charlaine Harris's writing style so I've never finished one of the books before. The person who is reading the book makes everything Sookie says sound like a question, a question that she's really pissed off to ask. And awfully yelly. Does that get better as the series progresses? Because with the exception of Sookie sounding like an angry, ignorant buttface I'm enjoying it.

Lol, personally I thought it got better...then eventually worse. Now I'm just reading to finish out the series.

I agree Samantha. It got more interesting in 3 and 4 and then flat-lined completely somewhere soon after.

Just finished the final book with mixed feelings. At least the series is done. Does any one know if there was a short story that came right before Deadlocked that included Sam's brother's wedding?

I read the intro and I have no interest to keep reading. Is that bad?

I ended up reading about 100 pages at work. now I have to finish.

I'm kind of bummed. It turned out how I thought it was, but I feel like there was such a big to do with all these other character as Sookie's boys and this felt just kind of "oh. ok."

70 pgs from done on Living Dead in Dallas I just passed the part where (view spoiler)[ eric kisses her at stans party (hide spoiler)] I like Eric more than Bill he is alot more interesting character.

I have Club Dead ready to go at first I didn't like the stories sookie was so dumb to me I still don't agree with some of the things she does but I own and watched season one of true blood and it helped me get into the stories.

Book 2 is where everything starts drifting a bit more from the series. 3 more so.

question I am now on Club Dead does sookie ever get a life of her own and some self respect or do I sit through like 12 more books of her pity party? Bill is such an ass but he's her ass I guess.

...ummm... she kind of waffles between pity party and a few moments of sucking it up.

Listening to Club Dead I think I'm going to end it after this book and just catch up on the show. I'm hoping the series doesn't end like the books. I went ahead and looked ahead to get the spoiler and it didn't seem to end right so I'm not evven going to waste my time and money.

I thought the books ended better than the show, the show was horrible!

So far (I've just finished season 4) I like the changes that they made that were not in the book. Does she still end up with the same person that seems to be out of the blue .

I really hate the way that Harris treats Erics character.I was hoping that the tv writers did better but I guess not booo! :(

So after finally forcing myself to finish the final season of True Blood I decided it was finally the perfect time to do the reread/finish I wanted to do. Mainly to get the True Blood taste out of my mouth.

Also, I only got up to book 7 before I couldn't stand waiting for the paperback releases after the hardback.

I've read books 1 and 2! I am soooo happy that I still find them to be 5 star reads so far.

It's funny that I find Bill way creepier than when I read them the first time around. I'm picking up on the not human part more. He's still sexy. But I can see more why (view spoiler)[ Sookie and Bill aren't good together. Heck, I'd dump him after getting caught up in so many horrible things because being tied to him caused it all. I love Eric even more!

It's also fun seeing all of the characters that the TV show used and explored more. Layfette being one that I loved they kept (view spoiler)[ alive. I was so sad he died in book 2. (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]

It was crazy how much the tv show veered from the books. About the only thing they had in common were the character names.

Yeah. When I did a rewatch so I could watch season 5 through 6 I ended up fast forwarding through a lot.

After season 4 is when they went absolutely crazy though. It was sooooooooooo bad.

I stopped watching after I got spoiled for how Tera was treated at the end of the show. I think stopped at book 4 of the series.
