Tessa i have some advice for you.1. if you have to tell yourself OVER and OVER again that you love Jem, YOU DONT!
2. You may love Jem, but you’re not IN love with him, see the difference? (E.g. Simon and Clary. look how that went)
3. Jem will die whether you marry him or not (unless he does the right thing and becomes a silent brother) Herondales, on the other hand, have the tendency to become easily depressed and suicidal.
4. WILL IS SEXY
Plus, Will reads poetry which is hard to find in a 17 year old guy!!!
I think Jem love Tessa but not for the right reasons like you said Shadowhunter Girl he just wants to get married before he dies and I always thought that Jem gilted her into marrying too I also think that Tessa does love Jem as a Brother and Will as more and you guys hit it on the nail Will is a bad boy on the outside and all soft on the inside while I believe Jem looks all soft while he is just selfish I do umderstand why he is though not many people would truly be selfless in his shoes if I were Tessa I would pick Will and not Jem out of pity

I read something on Jem's POV and I'll admit, he probably does love Tessa but not in the same way. I find it hard to believe that he could only fall in love with Tessa. I mean, it's not like he's been given many opportunities to date, other than Jessamine and let's face it, even Jem wouldn't be that desperate. Whereas Will has been with many girls and can well differentiate among love and regular infatuation. I'm not saying Jem's just infatuated, I'm saying I can't really believe his word when he hasn't had enough experience to destinguish between the two.
Although, if Jem got with Jessamine that would continue the Carstairs name and Emma was said to be blond....

He was worried about his curse and didn't let anyone love him. He never let anyone see the real him. He needs time to learn to be himself now that he can. Tessa never had a chance to see much of the real Will. But now it's too late because she loves Jem.

I don't think she hates them, I think she just doesn't understand them and has yet to appreciate them for who they are and what they do. Besides, this is one of the very tiny alternatives for Jem being with someone other than Tessa. I know Alec is the decendant of Cecily and Gabriel and that Jocelyn is of Henry and Charlotte and I had assumptions that Imogen was Tessa's daughter and Jessamine is blond so it's very possible that Emma has been given that trait from her ancestor. Jem's hair, I don't think, is naturally stark-white. And Tessa's is dark. If they had a kid it'd be dark haired. and for Jem to have a kid to pass on the name it would have to be a boy. Also, maybe Cassie will throw in a weird, unexpected twist that someone took a last name and isn't actually related to them or something.

We don't know if Emma's a direct descendant of Jem's yet. I agree with your last comment about Cassie. But how is Jocelyn the descendant of Henry & Charlotte?
I don't know, they just totally fit my mental image of her ancestors. And how could Emma not be a direct decendant? There's only one Carstairs last name that I'm aware of. Ohterwise Cassie is just being really really mean.

Yes there's only one Carstair that we've read about, but he has relatives. & this is what Cassie said herself:

That doesn't make sense though, their kid would be a Branwell, not a Fairchild! Plus Charlotte has relatives.
Unless the boy they have eventually has a daughter and she marries a fairchild.

The unidentified snippets are killing me. I quoted like, 5o% of them. Jem doesn't deserve to die but his oblivion annoyed the heck outta me! Of course Will wouldn't expect Jem to fall for Tessa because Jem has never showed interest in that kind of things, whereas Will, has awlays shown an interest in that kind of thing. I just want Tessa and Will together. That's it. pronto. The end. closed and buried forever and ever. Besides, Jem love Tessa in a Jem-ish kind of way, unlike Will's way. Tessa doesnt hate Jem either. So, equal...and all are happy. The end...^^

What are you talking about? How could you be mad at Jem's "oblivion"? Will showed interest in brothels and harassment of girls, not actual love. Will knew what his image was, in fact he worked really hard to create it. Will didn't WANT it to seem like he was interested in girls because (view spoiler)

Who said anything about Tessa hating Jem? I just think the series has come to far for it to end with her with Jem. And besides, if he dies, where will that leave Tessa? I just want it to end good. Not be a cliffhanger for a fractured heart, no thank you.

I could say the same thing about Will though, when he dies where does that leave Tessa? Same thing with Alec & Magnus, Simon and all the other immortal characters!
I just don't get how Jem is so oblivious to what Will and Tessa feel for each other. I thought he knew Will the best, but it turns out he hardly knows him at all! And why is so blinded by Tessa that he actually buys that she loves him.
Once again, Jem wasn't oblivious... Will treated Tessa like he treated every other girl. Will DIDN'T WANT it to seem like he had feelings for Tessa, because that would've made it complicated with his... situation. If you've read CP, then you know what I mean. So I don't get why everybody's so pissy with Jem. Here's a better question: How did Will not notice Jem's feelings for her? I mean, at least Jem acted like he felt special around her, if only a little bit. Smh people, I don't think either boy did anything wrong, but HONESTLY. Give poor Jem a break. @Charlotte: Tessa DOES love him. That's what makes it so heartbreaking. She doesn't just take pity on him, and she's not doing it for her own safety, she LOVES him. Yes, she loves Will too, and yes, she might love him more (that's all a matter of opinion) but that does NOT minimized Tessa's love for Jem.

I think Will had it worse. I mean, think about it. You are told at 12 years old that if you love someone, they'll die and that you can't prevernt it. So at the expense of your own happiness and sacrafice you leave your family to protect them and sneak off to the Institute after watching your sister die. There, you are forced to keep everyone at a distance no matter how much you love them, planning on leaving after your best friend dies in order to keep them alive. But, then some girl comes and jeopradizes the plan and shoots it to a very far off place. So, you have to make her hate you, regardless of what you're true feelings are.
And then, you realize it was never real, that you've just been living this lie! You sacraficed everything to keep them safe and then it turns out that it was all fake.
I think that would destroy a lot of people and Will deserves, by this point, someone to love and someone to be loved by.
Exactly. I agree with Daylighter and "The Breeze" I wish I saved the link from Cassandra Clare's tumblr entry where she defends and explains both characters and how it's not either of their faults for not noticing. Jem & Will both have a million other things on their minds than to be thinking about if the other one is in love with the same woman as they are.
I'm Team Will is all i'm saying and Will was just more prone to like this girl whereas Jem, really hasn't shown any interest in women. I'm not calling him dumb, I'm not calling him anything. I'm just saying that it was a little annoying to have Jem just completely closed from the option of someone loving Tessa, too. It doesn't annoy me with Will because I like him more.

No one is saying that Will doesn't deserve happiness or that he had it easy, we all know he had a difficult life, so did Jem btw. We're just saying that no one other than Marbas is to blame for the events of CP.
