I'm still team will and I mean cassie will find some way to cure jem, or jem has a long lost sibling or tesla marries will but cheats on him with jem, anything she just has to end up with will
I figure that Tessa and Jem will get broken up because Jem ends up dying and then Tessa and Will will end up falling in love.
There are a lot of references to TID in The City of Lost Souls. Its amazing how Cassie finds a way to tie them together... <3

Also Jace's book Tale of Two Cities was originally Will's. Also Tessa's clockwork necklace is displayed in the institute library.

I just love it when there are lots of theories and clues that link books together. There are so many twists and surprises. These hints allow me to think about the books for a long time, if you know what I mean... Everything about the Shadowhunters just takes over my mind, in a good way. It's just totally awesome! :D Once, I drew up a fmily and relationship tree with all the characters in it and you wouldn't believe how long that took!
Aside from the way the books connect with each other, I love the amazing plot, never-ending humour and well-developed personalities each character has!
Will and Jace are so awesome! :3

And i have absolutely NO idea about Tessa....
But wait. I kind of thought Alec was a decendant of Cecily and Gabriel. Bceause there is talk of how much Alec looks like Will and Cecily still has the dark hair and blue eyes to pass on to Alec . . . ooooo but I like the possibility that Will may be Brother Zachariah!

Maybe Gideon and Cecily develop a friendship and maybe when Gideon dies heroically in a battle or sumetin, Cecily and Gabriel decide to pass her friend's and his brother's name down the line!!!
Yeah. They could just decide to name the kid's middle name after Gabriel's brother.

who is brother zachariah? sorry havent got my CoLS yet. waaaaah... but is it possible that it could be Jem instead of Will?
hmmm.... It's possible maybe that Jem could be Brother Zachariah (he's one of the silent brothers) but he just comes across more as Will with the things he says and just how he acts. Besides, I don't think Jem would ever really consider being a Silent Brother . . .
ugh...dont want to think of Will as one of the silent brothers.they were described as totally mangled up face or something, right? it would be better if its Jem. he is dying anyway. . . sorry i really like Will.
Yeah.... maybe the only way to heal him was if he became a silent brother. I just hate the thought of Will (sob) dead and Tessa alive withOUT him. I mean, I don't want Jem to die he just annoys me in ID. He just comes across as so oblivious.
i think Will was also oblivious during the ID.never expecting anyone (beside himself) to fall in love with Tessa. remember his reaction when tessa told him that she agreed to marry Jem? im thinking (and hoping!) that maybe Jem sacrifices himself so Will can have Tessa and decided that because he doesnt want his life anymore commit himself to the silent brothers. of course, during the time of Jace and Clary, Will is already dead but he should have had a happy life with tessa before he died.just hoping ....
I know, me too. I don't want him to marry Tessa! I love Will! Will! Will! Will! The poor guy in some ways has it worse then Jem. If you go to my writing, I have a continuation I published about the wedding.

Exactly! Where are other people getting that Jem is better? Let's see, Will had a curse on him for five years telling him he coudn't love, he watched his sister die, he was forced to abandon his family to keep them safe, and he is the first one to stand up and CONGRATULATE Tessa and Jem on their wedding! If anybody asks me I say Will is better! Jem is just a nice guy who plays the violin! Those kind of guys really do exist. However, other guys like Will DO NOT because he's got so much more character to him whereas Jem I find slightly abstract.

Seriously people? Jem aint that bad. Let me suggest something. The Dark Artificies, is Julian and Emma. The Mortal Instruments, Jace and Clary, thus for Jem to be with Tessa is a very possibility in The Infernal Devices.
Okay, I need to say this because i've read some really mean things about Will and since I haven't voiced my opinion as strongly as possible, I want to do that now.Alright, last night I re-read the final parts of Clockwork Prince and I must say that I DESPISE JEM. The guy hase NO DEAPTH. He conveys no emotion. He's kind. How else can you describe him? He never really shows anger, he never really shows sadness, he's NEVER funny and I find him so abstract.
Next, he doesn't love Tessa. He THINKS he does when really just loves what she stands for. If someone would just take the time to dissect his words, they'll know that Jem really doesn't love Tess. For example:
"but I love you enough to hope that you will not care that I am being selfish in trying to make the rest of my life-whatever its length- happy, by spending it with you. i want to be married to you Tessa, i want IT more than i have ever wanted anything else in my life."
notice how he uses the term "it" not "you." he wants the marriage not neccessarily Tessa with all her faults and dislikes. I mean, could anyone honestly say that Jem wouldn't have fallen for any other girl if any other girl were in Tessa's shoes? Jem doesn't know her, all he is acknowledging is a possible bride before he dies. Another word to describe him is real oblivious. And since he's dying I think that he just assumes people to sympathize. All the time. So, yeah, I hate Jem. He's nice, he doesn't deserve to die, I just want him away from Tessa because he does not love her whereas Will does. Does know her. Does study her. And does love her.
So, reprimand me and contradict me if you will, I just really wanted to say that and haven't before in fear that no one will respect my opinion, but oh well.

I can just imagine Will's reaction. shock.he was torn with his loyalty to his parabatai and his love for Tessa. to think that he was so happy before that - after learning that he is not really cursed. i hate Tessa then because i want her to change her mind and choose Will. I kept on going back to the promised death for Jem.that his hours are counted and HOPING that he will die soon to give TEssa and Will a chance for happiness.Three is a crowd.

James ain't that bad. He had watched his parents suffered and his, having to drink demon blood or something, is really not his fault. Tessa, wasn't exactly in a right (or probably) in a clear state of mind. You really can't blame them. Even worse, to hate them. Sometimes, even we don't know what to react in some circumstances. And to know what is wrong and what is right. And just blindly follow either your peers' advice or your own muddled conscience.
In this case, of course everyone have a like and dislike of a certain character, so yeah, here goes what I have in mind. (And my advice is to think thoroughly before acting).

Now that you mentioned it, I CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT JEM LIKE THAT!
But the more I think about it, the more the fact that Jem does not really love Tessa becomes 'real' to me.
I'm like: OMG, there's a possibility that Jem doesn't truly love Tessa!!! O.o
This just fuels my obsession with Will and Tessa as a couple! ^.^

I know lots of people are not going to agree with me on this and that's fine. And I've been having this perspective on Jem for months so I didn't need to think thoroughly before writing this. This is just my opinion of Jem and how he was presented. Do I condemn him to death? Of course not. If he died would I cry and be absolutely heart broken? No. I had noticed a difference in words that Jem had exchanged with Tessa and it just got me thinking, is he happy because he will be married before he dies, or the fact that he gets to be with Tessa? I found him way more excited about the marriage then the actual girl which was what really got me into the whole I-really-hate-Jem feeling.
It aggrivated me to know that he (maybe not meaning to) guilted her into the proposal. I mean the guy's dying and his final wish is to marry before death. If Tessa had said no, well, everyone would call her mean and heartless. And he just expected it, which, again, made me mad. He totally expected her to say yes. Yeah, she did leave the wrong impression but still. He literally looked as if he couldn't possibly imagine her saying no! So, I won't change my mind about Jem. I've always loved Will from the moment Tessa hit him with that jar.
Fine. Shadowhunter girl, you win, kay? I wouldn't try to defend Jem anymore. Though I know you will most probably say that is only your own opinion. So...And I guess Tessa still has her ego, for she hadn't rejected Jem. Too bad cuz she caused all this conflicts. No hard feelings towards anyone, just stating what I think...
Besides, Tessa do love Will...

I love how you manage to express this theory about Jem not really loving Tessa. (The points seems quite strong to me) :D
And yes, the moment Will started cursing and oozing blood onto the ground was the moment I knew he would be my favorite character. The way he reacted to the situation made me laugh so hard! <3
