ahahah idk, i have to be reading it word for word to truly immerse myself fully into the world im reading about lol. thats the only way i can block out everything
when im reading, its like anything i hear just becomes white noise and so all the rest of my senses are focused on the book. but if im listening, i dont feel like my senses are totally closed off to the world and it just doesnt have the same effect
i know its weird....but its the only way i can read

and yeah guys, about the taping thing
like ive heard of some people when they wanna learn a new language they sleep listening to the tape and wham, next morning they dont know everything but theyve picked up a lot cuz its driven into their subconscious

or those self-help tapes....like a form of hypnosis if say someone has an eating problem and they listen to a tape of someone saying idk "this food is bad" over and over again and next morning, when they go to eat it just pops into their head that OMG THIS FOOD IS BAD FOR ME

maybe not that exaggerated but still
