I found Will's curse to be too convenient. It gave him the excuse to be as horrible as he was, thus, I can't hate him as much as I'd like too. But then, what are we left with? If the (hilarious) hurtful sarcasm and boldness is all an act, then you have a young man who loves literature. Will, gentle and protective, with all the same, good qualities that you could find in Jem, maybe just as 'dull' as each other, as some might say. Truthfully, they're both a good choice, yet it's still too early to tell.
What I adored about Tessa is that unlike most female characters, she doesn't continue to idolize the man who treats her like crap. When the curse was still unknown, I think she was totally right in the head when leaning towards Jem. Yet now that she's faced with two equally good guys, I think we might start to see incredibly annoying back-and-forth action.
I just love Jem. He's the kind of person who stays consistently by your side when needed. He's kind, sweet and understanding, and of course that can come off as too dull or perfect, but one of the things that stuck out to me the most when reading the book is that we should never take that for granted. He's dying, for Pete's sake. He remains calm and optimistic when God knows it takes all the effort in the world just to manage a smile. I find it incredibly admirable that he's not off sulking at some opium den. But when he broke, and we get to see the anger and sadness that boils beneath him, and the unfairness that he's probably just a patient to Nurse Tessa, I started to ball like a damn baby. How is it like in the real world, when your loved one is suffering from a disease and you can practically hear the time ticking away? And the make-out scene. Jem being so literally fragile and so self-conscious about the fact that he doesn't have washboard abs, was totally endearing.
Near the end, when Tessa seemingly makes the decision, I do sympathize for Will...yet I didn't find it too tragic. In Magnus' own words (He's a BOSS) how is your life possibly ruined yet, if you've only still lived seventeen years of it? Let's face it, they're seventeen. However passionate, it's really just young love, and if Will doesn't end up with Tessa, we all know the Herondale line will continue eventually. And if I sound extremely biased, that goes for all teenage fictional characters, even Jem if he was in a different situation. They'll all find somebody new, if things do not work out, even if it's not within the time period of the books. And let's say Tessa can't in fact have children? What about Jace? :(
And we still can't ignore that the two guys are parabatai. I don't even think I want to touch the next book, it'll be so terrible for all of them.

OMG YES he is awesomethe amount he had to isolate himself, and be nasty and try to make people hate him just so that he could protect them.....if thats not noble, i dont know what is
he even made sure people he didnt even like hate him. like the lightwoods sister, when she wrote in her diary about liking will and he read it out loud to everyone. he didnt have to worry about what happens to her cuz he didnt even like her but he couldnt let the curse affect her too...so in ways he is more pure at heart than even jem is, you know. so now we'll get to see his sensitive side, but i dont think hes gonna completely lose all his sarcasm and wit because he doesnt want to hurt jem and so to make sure nothing is suspicious between him and tessa, and not protect his own feelings, he'll still be a bit sarcastic and happy, and be the will that we know sang about Demon Pox
LOL at least someone agrees with me. I agree at least now he can live his life the way he wants to no one else's will he marry tessa later on or no?
oh goddess honeslty from what ive gathered, its not gonna be a happy ending either wayidk i feel like somehow jem will find out about will and tessas feelings but i also believe jem is gonna die and either before he dies or on his death bed, hes gonna give his blessing to them both to be together and probably make will vow to protect her and love her always and i think will and tessa might be happy together....but then again, clockwork princess is the last book in the series so i feel like the epilogue is gonna be sad cuz shes gonna live forever and itll prob be tessa talking about her lost love and family (after theyve all died either in action or of old age, who knows) and magnus will probably help her through it or something
oh and the dark artifices, main character is emma CARSTAIRS......i thought all of jems family was dead or something but i guess not, and tessa cant have kids so obvi it cant be a descendent of her and jems.....mindboggling, who is she!!!
if will and tessa are together it will be good but bad for jem.

Well, we know that Jem's family is dead... but do you mean like an appearance from the past? I agree that I definitely want to know more about Jem's family from when he was young. Cassie posted on Tumblr once that Jem has other living relatives, I wonder if we'll ever get to meet them.

I am Team Will all the way. But before I read Clockwork Prince I was hoping that Tessa would hang out with Jem more and that would make Will Jealous, but I was completely unprepared for what happened in the end of Clockwork Prince. When I was reading it I literally had some sort of electric, cold, spastic brain attack. How could she say yes!!!!!

because its so sad that it didnt even compute to him that jem likes her or she somewhat likes jem, jem is like his brother and he had no idea, he thought he had nothing to worry about and no competition but himself you know
so it was such a shock and just a blow to the heart

Yeah poor Will and he was doing it to protect her. Im really curious whats going to happen to the love triangle in Clockwork Princess. Cause i mean how could everything work unless maybe Will or Jem turn out to be gay? But that would be a bit of an awkward happy ending.

Hey I'm back again! ^_^ oh I read the second book already it was good but sad and will and tessa would be better i think but magnus is better with alec in the mortal instrsutments series instead.
yeahh but if alec didnt exist, which at tid time he didnt, you gotta admit, blach hair blue eyed will would steal magnus' heart!
i know that but i don't want to beileve that will would be good with magnus let's hope that tessa will be with will later on because if not i won't be happy !!!
