Thanks. >.< Yeah, I got to the semifinals three years ago, but I've done progressively worse in the contest every year. The funny thing is, I also worked progressively more on each manuscript I submitted so it's rather ironic. With Walking Shadow which got to the semis, I had only finished writing the first draft like two weeks before the deadline and I was just like "Meh what the heck" and entered anyway ... yet somehow it did really well. That's pretty much the only reason I'm considering entering this year when I haven't finished Eaglewood yet (which is what I wanted to submit). So, UGH I don't know. BTW are you entering?

IN ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION: I have mixed feelings about snow. I think it's pretty but after several months of it I get pretty tired of it. :P

Yeah, I think I'm going to enter Manic Pixie Dream Girl. I'm working on editing it right now and adding some things because it's only 30,000 words, but I think I can finish editing it in a couple of weeks because I'm really driven to finish now that I have a goal. The thing I'm worried about is writing the pitch because I've never done that before and I have no idea how writing a pitch is supposed to work and augh.

I believe I did, but I can't really remember.

Yep. I'm gonna try to eat more fruits and vegetables and less cookies. (I'm actually serious. I eat a lot of sweets as just snack foods and stuff. I'm not overweight because I spend so much time at dance, but I just think I should get into the habit of healthy eating now.)

@Taylor - ABNA is the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award contest. It's this contest that takes place starting at the beginning of every year, run by Amazon and CreateSpace (and Penguin used to take part in it also, although I'm not sure they're a part of it this year). It's a contest for unpublished and self-published novels. You submit a pitch, an excerpt, and the full manuscript, and each one is judged in a separate round. (But that is to say, your pitch has to be good in order to get you into the round where the excerpts are judged and so forth.) The prize is a publishing deal and an advance of at least $15,000 for all the finalists, and then one grand prize winner gets $50,000. The rules have changed a bit this year from what they've been in previous years so sorry if I'm explaining this terribly. Ick, I usually hate shopping. I'll occasionally find it fun, and if I'm with friends at the mall and we're messing around but not actually looking for things, it's okay, but if it's a really long shopping trip or if I have to try on tons of clothes I can't stand it.
