That is a score! But I'm glad I got it from the library. It wasn't a keeper for me.

CLM | 5 comments I really enjoyed this book. There are a lot of things to discuss but one in particular was how Henry faded out of the book (in part because forced to live elsewhere) and the last section of the book focused on Margaret and Nancy's friendship/alliance. However, it did break my heart that Henry didn't love Margaret any more. Would it have been different if she hadn't lost her looks?

Misfit This is definitely a book that would get the discussions going at a group read.

I just couldn't get past Henry's sudden devotion to Nancy and the way he treated Margaret. Ruined the book for me. I was so invested in Margaret and Henry and I was so disappointed in his behavior.

Jeanne (jeanne_voelker) | 52 comments Some of you found Margaret too passive, but she was economically dependent. Besides, any time before the 1960's, a woman was expected to keep the peace and adapt to her husband's choices.
