Amy (goodreadscomamy_perry) | 4 comments I am going to read my first book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. I am however a huge fan of Tru Blood. I have watched every episode since season 1. Wondering if the books are anything like Tru Blood or is it completely different?

Cary (vortigern) TrueBlood follows roughly the outline of the books. As usual the books are, way, way, way, better. The only major problem is Lafayette in just a minor charater in book one and is dead early in book two. In TrueBlood he is a major player. My personal fave. Jason is not nearly as stupid in the books. :)

Kenna (kennas) Woooow, cary. Spoiler much? Silly boy.

The books and show are as vastly different and be about the same thing as a show can get. Ball is LOOSELY based on the books. Both the books and the show are very good and worth your time. Think of True Blood as a fanfic that was put into movie/tv show form. :D

Amy (goodreadscomamy_perry) | 4 comments Thanks. I am looking forward to reading them. :-)

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) Yeah Amy, the tv series is different than the books. Don't compare book with series because you will be disappointed.

Amy (goodreadscomamy_perry) | 4 comments I've learned not to. I did that with Twilight and was very disappointed witht he movie the first time I saw it. Now I love it. Was just wondering what to expect.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) expect it not to be the exact same as the books.

Amy (goodreadscomamy_perry) | 4 comments Ok. Watched all True Blood episodes. Now just need to catch up on the reading.

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) I went that route. I saw then series then read the books.

Vanessa (indiaskye) Personally, I love the books, but I don't think that they are "way better" than the tv series.

"True Blood" has become one of my favorite shows, and there are times when I actually like it better than the books.

In general, though, I'd have to say that both the books and the tv series are great --- just in different ways.

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) To each their own. I can't stand the tv series but love the books.

Kandice I like them both, but view them as completely different entities. Yes, they share character names, but in a lot of cases, even the personalities are different, so it's easy to like both without feeling unfaithful to either. For me, anyway.

Jesika | 10 comments I love both the books and the tv showwww. But I definitely think the books are betterrrr. I did NOT picture Sookie and Bill like that... they disappointed me....

Rachael (raybay) | 7 comments i am in the same frame of mind as Kandice, i keep the tv series and the books separate cos they are different but still both good. though i am enjoying the books more than the series, mainly because of how different series two was from the second book....

Amy (signgirlamy) | 5 comments The first season of the TV show is much more similar to the book than the second season. The second season took a few things way too far IMO.

They're both good, and I like that they're different. There are some characters that I love in the show but hate in the books and vice versa. It's cool to see how they change the characters.

Uggh, I'm halfway through Dead in the Family and I can't stop picturing the TV characters as the characters in the book! I wanted to keep them separate but I'm having a hard time...

Wendy Rego | 2 comments Hello all! I just finished the first and second book. I never saw the movie True-Blood until this past weekend my daughter and I watched all of season 1 back to back. There is a big difference between the book and the show... But now I put a face to my characters insted of using my imagination. I love the books so far : )
