Karen Moning's Fever series is one of my favorite series. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

Ive heard good things about both the Fever and the Kate Daniels series, Ive decided to read Silver Borne next since I already love Mercy and then flip a coin to see which of the other two Ill read after haha

message 256: by Becca (new)

Becca (goblinfan) | 215 comments I started reading The Vampire Files: Vol 1 by P. N. Elrod. It contains the first three books of that series. So far, I'm loving it. I needed to read something more up beat...yes, vampires are up beat to me. :) I'd read a little of this horror book last night, and was actually a little creeped out.

Shomeret | 233 comments I started reading Dying Bitestoday and I'm really enjoying the originality.

message 259: by MsBeaglely (new)

MsBeaglely | 114 comments Finished Hunted By The Others (H&W Investigations, #1) by Jess Haines last night. Not only was it very good, but it was an easy read thanks to short chapters (I love short chapters).

Up next is Red (Dead World, #1) by Jordan Summers . I've had it on my shelf for a while now. Hope it's as interesting as it looks.

Jen let me know how Red is I brought it on a whim and it still sits on my bookshelf.

message 262: by Bianca (new)

Bianca | 11 comments Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews won the toss, so starting that one now :)

message 263: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments Oh, man. I finished Succubus Dreams last night and damn near threw the book across the room. The breakup scene crushed me, and I kept reading hoping it would turn around. Just gut-wrenching. Between that and the "love fades" comment in Spirit Bound, Richelle Mead can really write a heartbreaking scene. I love her for it, but it's intense.

I was still upset enough to decide I needed to blog about it. LOL. The new post? "Richelle Mead knows how to break my heart."

message 264: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments Just got Affinity by Sarah Waters The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #1) by N.K. Jemisin Spellbent (Jessie Shimmer, #1) by Lucy Snyder of course I still have The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman Angelology by Danielle Trussoni

who knows what I will start on next.

message 265: by Theresa (new)

Theresa (tsorrels) Finished Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia - I loved it!

Starting the anthology Must Love Hellhounds by Charlaine Harris, Ilona Andrews, etc today. I'm looking forward to this one even though I usually don't care for anthologies.

Also, I'm almost done listening to Storm Prey by John Sandford. I have about two more discs to go. This is a good entry in the Prey series. :)

message 266: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I am reading Small Favor and Burning Alive. I will definately finish 'Small Favor', not too sure about 'Burning Alive'.

message 269: by Lisa M (new)

Lisa M | 311 comments Just finished Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater . Not sure what I'll start next, since I put the next two Dresden books on July's reading challenge. Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

message 270: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments I needed a breather book after Succubus Dreams, so I started Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine last night. After a few chapters I started to get into it -- actually, if my husband hadn't interrupted I probably would have devoured the whole thing.

Anyone read the Morganville Vampire series? Thoughts? Suggestions?

message 271: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments I liked Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine . I thought it was cute and has different take on vamps.

Very easy read, let me know if you like it.

Good. I'm after something lighter and quick after the heavy ending of Succubus Dreams. (Richelle Mead, I love you, but I was wayyy bummed out.)

message 278: by Julia (new)

Julia | 615 comments I just finished Helmet for My Pillow From Parris Island to the Pacific by Robert Leckie which is a memoir of the author's experiences as a Marine in the Pacific in World War II. (He was one of the three men who were focused on in the amazing HBO series "The Pacific.") I enjoyed it, as much as one can enjoy a true war story, but now I need something completely different.

So I'm reading How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier .

My husband is thinking he might like to read this book. We watched The Pacific, DH's husband fought in the Pacific theater in WWII. It was good, but I thought Band Of Brothers was better.

I like the Darkfever series but I hate her cliff hanger endings I decided to quit until the last book comes out. I hope you enjoy it!

message 281: by Dawn (new)

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments Bad reading week nothing is satisfying me and I have no idea what to read next.
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith is just not what I was expecting.
Angelology by Danielle Trussoni is rather bland I cannot get into it.

message 282: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments @ Dawn ~ I had a hard time with PP & Z too. Thought it was horrible until the last 40 pages.

message 283: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I am reading Beautiful Creatures and I continue to read Small Favor. I am listening to The Wish List.

message 284: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 188 comments Reading Fever Crumb, Eternal, and Fire Study also listening to The Graveyard Book on my way to and from work. Im actually thinking about throwing another book in the mix.

message 285: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments Finished Glass Houses (The Morganville Vampires, #1) by Rachel Caine last night. It's largely world building, but I bought a copy that was a combo of books 1 and 2. As I flowed into The Dead Girls' Dance (The Morganville Vampires, #2) by Rachel Caine I understood why so many of you praised the Morganville Vampires series. I'm halfway through book 2 and it's got me hooked. They're quick, easy reads -- a nice change of pace from some of the darker stuff I've picked up lately.

I'm trying to decide what will be next: The Dead-Tossed Waves or Catching Fire

Enjoying it a lot so far. Cliffhangers are aweful indeed, too bad I cant get the next books for awhile >.< Ah well guess Ill just have to dive into other series to tide me over till I can buy the others ^^

OOOOHH!! Sookie #4 is my favorite of the whole series!!

message 291: by Julia (new)

Julia | 615 comments Melodie,

Helmet for My Pillow From Parris Island to the Pacific by Robert Leckie is very good. I also have Sledge's With the Old Breed At Peleliu and Okinawa by E.B. Sledge and I'll be reading it soon. But right now I'm reading the not at all urban fantasy The Lonely Polygamist by Brady Udall about a man with four wives and 28 children who's going through a midlife crisis...

How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier was a sweet and funny YA UF palate cleanser.

And I loved "The Pacific" so much that I must get "Band of Brothers," which I don't believe I've seen.

I had to give up the first and will not be reading the second. The reasons, well here is my review.

Have to give this one up as the main character keeps pissing me off. Her husband is cheating on her, she realizes as she walks into their apartment and then she goes and has sex with her. He just keeps treating her like treating her like crap and she stands there and takes it. I can't stand people like this, in real life or on a book. This one is just not for me.
