message 201: by Crystal (new)

Crystal Sloan (crystal_sloan) @ Darcy and Chelsea... Lol, I hated that one! : ) It felt really isolated, and I didn't care about any of the characters. Oh well...

I am almost done with Narcissus in Chains.

Ditto!! Even if Edward was the only character carried over from the other books, I loved that one. :)

Dawn (dawnv) | 367 comments Just finished Mind Games (The Disillusionists Trilogy, #1) by Carolyn Crane really liked that one quite a bit.

Now reading Melusine (Doctrine of Labyrinths, #1) by Sarah Monette and I am lost and confused this one may go into the could not finish pile.

Glad to hear that Mind Games was good. I have been wanting to read this one.

TheThirdLie Mia (Lounging with Books) wrote: "I'm still working my way through Rosemary and Rue. I'm having a really tough time getting into it. I'm also reading Nightlife and The Looking Glass Wars. I..."

For some reason Nightlife just pulled at the heartstrings for me. I want to read the next books, but I have to take a break before I can handle another one.

I'm now reading Already Dead by Charlie Huston, but I'm not enjoying it much. The main character really is unlikeable.

message 207: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 188 comments now reading: Magic Study by Maria V Snyder and Fragile Eternity by Malissa Marr. Im prob about to start Impossible By Nancy Werlin although I dont like the beginning and Im still reading A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin.

I love George R.R. Martin's books! I hope you're enjoying that one. :)

message 210: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments I am reading The Sweet Scent of Blood (Spellcrackers, #1) by Suzanne McLeod

message 211: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie Already Dead has a crappy protagonist and there's far too much cursing in it. Seriously, seeing the f-bomb over a dozen times in a page is just too much. It's going on hold until I can stand to read a few more pages.

Now I'm reading Dead to Me by Anton Strout. Hopefully this one will have more to offer.

message 212: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments Put reading Obsidian Butterfly (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #9) by Laurell K. Hamilton on hold temporarily while I fly through The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan . I haven't done zombie books before -- digging it.

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 188 comments I finished Magic Study and so far its my fav of the series but you never know I still have to read Fire Study.

message 216: by Whitney (new)

Whitney (whitneychakara) | 188 comments I put Fragile Eternity to the side for a while its my least fav of the series so far. :/

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments Chakara wrote: "I have checked out The Forest of Hands and Teeth and cant wait to read it myself."

I'm nearing the end -- and it's really good. I already know I'll have to pick up the sequel
The Dead-Tossed Waves.

message 218: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments I am in the middle of Angel-Seeker (Samaria, #5) by Sharon Shinn , it is good so far.

message 219: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I'm reading Changes (The Dresden Files, #12) by Jim Butcher and I'm loving it!!

message 220: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie Stopped reading the first book in the Simon Canderous series. Seems like it would be more suited to a younger audience. So I started Moonshin by Rob Thurman. It's the second book in the Cal Leandros series and I'm already liking it. There's just something about the writing in this series that I love.

message 221: by Becca (new)

Becca (goblinfan) | 215 comments Started reading Living Dead in Dallas. Not bad so far, though it doesn't seem to compare to the HBO series. I'm starting to see the two series as entirely different stories. Easier to read the books that way. :)

I read the books when they were first released so have had no trouble separating the two. The show is very little like the books, to me anyway.

message 223: by Dija (new)

Dija Currently reading Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost and Hourglass (Evernight, #3) by Claudia Gray

message 224: by Darcy (new)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 822 comments Next for me will be Moon Sworn (Riley Jenson Guardian, #9) by Keri Arthur and Bullet (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #19) by Laurell K. Hamilton .

message 225: by Krisztina (new)

Krisztina Williams (krisztinawilliams) | 3 comments The Host Almost halfway through. It's great so far! Even you Twilight haters out there should give this a try.

message 226: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie I read The Host a while back and it is a really good book... and I'm one of those Twilight haters. It be neat to see a sequel to it, just to see how things have changed since the ending events.

Still reading Moonshine by Rob Thurman. I'm not that far into it, gaming has gotten in my way unfortunately, but it's good. I love that the characters introduced in the first book are still a part of this one.

message 227: by Mariya (new)

Mariya (cr6zym0nkeyiz) | 60 comments finishing up Moon Called (Mercedes Thompson, #1) by Patricia Briggs and then will be moving onto Blood Bound (Mercedes Thompson, #2) by Patricia Briggs

Lisa M | 311 comments Finished up Summer Knight (The Dresden Files, #4) by Jim Butcher and I'm picking up Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater from the library today. Yay, they finally have it in stock! :)

message 229: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I'm starting Elijah (Nightwalkers, #3) by Jacquelyn Frank

message 230: by Chelsea (new)

Chelsea (vampirebookclub) | 45 comments Finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth (The Forest of Hands and Teeth, #1) by Carrie Ryan and really loved it. Read my review (no spoilers) over on Vampire Book Club.

I'm still working my way through Obsidian Butterfly (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #9) by Laurell K. Hamilton . It's long, but I think I'll finish tonight.

message 231: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I just finished Elijah (Nightwalkers, #3) by Jacquelyn Frank , best book of the series so far! I really enjoyed it. I'm now reading Blood Magic (World of the Lupi, #6) by Eileen Wilks

message 232: by Paula (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I started to read The Better to Hold You, but put it down. I couldn't get into it. I'll try again later. I am currently reading Slave to Sensation. It's ok so far. I'm trying to read some of the the books I've had around for a long time. And, of course, I continue to read White Night.

message 233: by Dawn (new)

I love Harry Dresden!!

message 235: by Paula (last edited Jun 08, 2010 05:14AM) (new)

Paula (pauldajo) I put Slave to Sensation down. Could be I'm not in a reading mood. Slave to Sensation interested me more than The Better to Hold you, but not enough to continue. I'll try to read it later. I continue to read White Night. Maybe I'll finally finish it, if it's the only book I'm reading!

Valorie, I agree, the Harry Dresden books are great! Currently Harry's going through some anger issues. I wonder if he'll come to terms with his negative emotions. But then there is always some kind of nasty monster, fairy, or vampire irritating him and his anger often keeps him alive.

message 236: by MsBeaglely (last edited Jun 08, 2010 05:36AM) (new)

MsBeaglely | 114 comments Finally finished [image error] last night. It started out strong, but I really struggled to finish the last half of the book.

Started Hunted By The Others (H&W Investigations, #1) by Jess Haines this morning.

message 237: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie Just finished up the second book in the Cal Leandros series by Rob Thurman, Moonshine. I liked this one just like the first, but I think the relationship between Cal and Georgie should have been held off for another book or so. It was kind of too soon for something like that to develop.

Now I'm thinking about what I'll get into next. I might try getting into Dead to Me again by Anton Strout, but I'm not sure.

message 238: by Jan (new)

Jan (libraryhag) I am just getting started with Unholy Ghosts. Pretty good so far.

message 239: by Shomeret (new)

message 240: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (trebble) | 2 comments I'm reading both Persephone Parker books by Leanne Heiber. They are great so far!

message 241: by TheThirdLie (new)

TheThirdLie Started reading Street Magic by Caitlin Kittredge. I had started this a bit ago and then stopped reading it for some reason. Now that I've started it again I have no idea why that was.

Hopefully this will turn out well. It's a female POV and so far she seems just normal. Not some sexed up super chick.

message 242: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I finished Blood Magic (World of the Lupi, #6) by Eileen Wilks and really enjoyed it. I'm now reading Defending Angels (Beaufort & Company, #1) by Mary Stanton

You ladies were right -- really enjoyed Obsidian Butterfly.

I just started reading
Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid, #3) by Richelle Mead

message 244: by Becca (new)

Becca (goblinfan) | 215 comments I gave in to my urge to read more of the world of Mercy Thompson. I am weak... But, in my defense I had a bad day. So, I started Bone Crossed ahead of schedule as a pick me up. So far it's working. Yay!

I just finished SB, and didn't think it was so bad, it was a filler book though.

message 248: by Valorie (new)

Valorie I finished Defending Angels (Beaufort & Company, #1) by Mary Stanton a paranormal mystery. It was pretty good, a little on the slow side. I'm now reading One With the Darkness (Companion, #6) by Susan Squires
