What are you reading? (Part 2)
JK wrote: "Faefever is my current book. Picking it up right after Darkfever and I really appreciate that it just picks up right where that one left off. Same scene and everything. =] .. I do wish the rape ..."
Jk, that's what I've been saying alot lately. I am not sure what the deal with writers and their clear obsession with rape is. It turns me off, and leads me to rate books alot lower if the scene was left off.
I would definitely be loving this series a lot more if the concept wasn't being thrown around so much. Or if it weren't being made out to be acceptable. It can really add a deep level of emotion or whatnot to a book or character, but it shouldn't be thrown around so much and trivialized. It's not something to scoff at.
Especialy if you are a survivor, and certain aspects of what a writer puts on paper, actually happened to you. I've often wondered it other survivors feel the same way, or am I just losing my patience with said topic.
oh what the bleep i just bought this bleeping book in the fever series had I known it delt with bleep like that I wouldnt have grabed it up so quickly.
Hm. Just finished
and
. Not sure what to read next. Need to work on finishing Count of Monte Cristo now that I think about it....

I think it's justifiable to be upset with the way authors are treating it these days, especially if you've had to endure it yourself.
On my last book of the fever series by Karen Marie Moning. Shadowfever. This is really a great series.
Christen wrote: "Hi ladies...watch the spoilers! :)"Christen, which posts (msg #s) are you concerned about? I will delete the posts since they don't have spoiler warnings.
Christen wrote: "Hi ladies...watch the spoilers! :)"Are you talking about Shelley and my posts? They aren't spoilers. No more a spoiler than knowing that Mac is the main character of the Fever series. We were talking about a growing trend in books, which started out because of a comment about Fever, but it doesn't spoil anything at all.
Hi ladies - my mistake! I was thinking of another book I think. Thank you for being willing to delete spoiler posts though. Please continue your discussion!!! :-/
Read Vampyres of Hollywood and it turned out to be better than I was expecting. I'm going to keep an eye out for the next one.
I just checked out from library Love Bites (Adrienne Barbeau, same as Vampyres of Hollywood)- hope it is as good as you say Vamps was.

Well, there were some rough spots but I really liked the humor. Overall it was pretty good. Then again, I've had some bad luck lately with picking books to read. I hope you like it, Tasula.

Ok, so for you Guild Hunters fans...I'm trying to read Angels' Blood but I can't really get into it. Does it just start a little slow?

Glad to hear, I love this series and am waiting for this one to release so I can read the last two together with no waiting. Rardin was such a great writer.

.. I do wish the rape wasn't so prevalent in this series. It doesn't make it more gritty or mature.
