Thank you. And you too, David.

I'm glad you like my contests, because I really do enjoy doing them! There's actually another one going on right now. Unfortunately, I picked the worst possible time for it, because virtually nobody is participating. I understand that they could be busy and have lives outside of Goodreads, it's just that, ironically, I put a lot more work into this contest, going so far as to make both a video and another surprise. (Which hasn't been posted yet)

But I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Sorry Harold! You can always try the contest over here with your video. I am game!

What contest?? *boucing* Not that I'm excited... I'm just curious as to what a fellow member is up to. *cough* ....
What's it about?

Harold sets up awesome contests like Best Stand Alone YA Book or Best YA Villan and every nominates and votes in a bracket type system.

Oh, I see! For some reason I thought it would be a writing contest. I'll still check it out. :) Thanks!

I'm sorry too Harold! I actually left that group before you PMed me, not because I didn't like it, but because I needed to downgrade my groups a bit. I went back for the contest but I've been slacking.

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Poor Wendy she trys to downgrade her groups and I make her join this one! I am actually secretly trying to steal all the members from that group over this time one! I invited Cassi and she told me she joined. I think I just need Catie and then we will have a lot of the "old gang" if there was such a thing (Shannen, Kourtni, Peep, Jaimie, Brittany, etc...) I miss Jaimie (with 2 i's) I wonder where she has been??

Gwennie (blessedwannab) Did you guys all stop posting in that one too?

LOL, well I'll admit that seeing you, Peep, Roshini, Bluemoon, Lloyd, and Arphaxad were here is why I joined. I usually ignore my group invites, hahaha. Plus, I mod a Adult YA group with Stacia. But I've missed chatting with you guys, so I couldn't resist!

Plus, how else am I gonna get my great gritty realistic YA rec's!

Oh wow. Are Jennifer and Lasse here as well?

Also, thank you for the invitation. I'll do that if not too many people think it's redundant.

Actually, here's a question for you guys: How many of you would like me to run a contest here? It's no trouble to me and I like doing group activities in which a lot of people have fun.

I have never asked anyone to join this group because I am the same way Wendy. But I missed you! Lloyd and Peep are in this group - I need to try and steal Arphaxed and Roshini. Ugh! I keep forgetting people. Bluemoon is a moderator of this group so I hope she didn't think I was leaving her out because she rocks!

By the way, I sent invites to some other members of the old crowd.

I think I'll try seeing how this group reacts to the contest. It's been good in the last group, but I think it's about time for a career change.

I am SO looking forward to this group.

message 716: by Tish (new)

Tish | 4 comments Hi y'all! Thanks to Harold, I'm in this one now too! ;-) I had never joined because it seemed like a fairly high percentage of my Goodreads friends were already in this group and I would just read their comments on the updates page. And I didn't need another group. Or another book to go on my monthly shelf. But I didn't want to miss Harold's next surprise, so here I am. :-)

For those of you who don't know me (or have forgotten because I tend to lurk rather than post), my name is Tish, I live in North Carolina, and have a 13 year old son who also loves to read. I read everything, but love YA, fantasy, historical fiction, thrillers, etc. Favorites include Harry Potter, Chaos Walking, Ender's Game, Outlander.

Hi Adrienne! Have you read
Deerskin by Robin McKinley ? I read it recently and really loved it. Plus, it's by Robin McKinley, so you know it's gonna be good. :)

Adrienne Clarke (adriennelclarke) | 5 comments I have read Deerskin and I loved it! One my favourite YA novels of all time is Robin McKinley's Beauty. It's such a beautiful, unique retelling of Beauty & the Beast. It was after reading that book that I decided I wanted to be a writer.

Chloe (chlojoreads) | 5 comments I might have already posted in here... (I can't quite remember) but I'm Chloe. twenty something who lives in Amherst. My boyfriend says I'm a crazy book lady. Which, I guess is like a crazy cat lady with books. So I'm trying to be more active in my groups and on goodreads so I can hopefully make some crazy book people friends. Haha. It's also nice to be able to see what everyone else is enjoying in YA literature because I'm always in need of recommendations

Ah, okay. Awesome! I've never happened to stumble upon other 5-college students here on Goodreads so ... cool coincidence. ;) I grew up in eastern MA near Boston, so not really from this area but fairly close by, haha. :)
