Well, considering I still have eight hundred pages of Infinite Jest to read, I'm not particularly thinking about this at the moment.
But it'll likely be something out of this Conrad collection I picked up at a thrift store. Probably either The Nigger of the "Narcissus" or Typhoon.
I might try and pick something up that's a bit lighter before I jump into Conrad, though. And my upcoming reads are largely determined by whatever I can dig up at thrift stores or used bookstores.

I need to get around to finishing A Clash of Kings. Had about a hundred pages or so left. I also want to check out the upcoming Mass Effect novel.

After that I plan on reading A Talent for War followed by Polaris. It really depends on how fast the books get here. Ordered them a while ago, but I still haven't recei..."
I really hope you like the McDevitt books. I think I told you this on GF, but A Talent For War is kind of weak, and Polaris is much, much better. (And Seeker, the third of the series, is probably my favorite McDevitt book of all.)

Until then, I'm considering M. John Harrison's Light or maybe finally I'll finish Revelation Space by Alastair Reynolds.

Still not sure what I'll be reading next, but Jim Butcher's Changes is definitely one of the next two or three. I'm mostly in a sci-fi mood now, but it seems like a lot of people will be reading this, so now's as good a time as any.
If I like how Flashforward ends, I'll probably try another Robert Sawyer book, possibly Calculating God.
And I've become very suddenly interested in Allen Steele's
Coyote series, so that's soon forthcoming as well.
Of course, all this is subject to change in a moment's notice. It's a little alarming at times how suddenly my moods can shift.
Edit: Even though I was disappointed with Flashforward's ending, I decided to go ahead and give him another shot. So far Calculating God is reminding me a lot of Ishmael: An Adventure of the Mind and Spirit, in that it's mostly just one strange character lecturing another, and by extension, the reader. It's pretty interesting stuff, but it doesn't sound...authentic. Like, I have no way of knowing how much of the science they're discussing is real and how much is just completely made up.
